classic lament....your line "lose what you never really had"
i actually had written the same line in a poem for the father I never knew...and then, after 30 years, found out he was dead....so it is possible to lose what you never really had. and sometimes it seems to hurt more...
I have always known that emotions and musical talent produce the best songs....the feelings ooze from this one SOS...there are times when what others say though well intended just float on by and the heart is all that is heard....beautiful job on a great song.....Ed
Thank you, Orlando!
I wish I could say it was a pleasure to write, but obviously it was painful. But I needed to do it, and it was therapeutic.
The song wrote itself, I think I had an angelic muse on my shoulder.
I see you just signed on to the Loop Kev...so welcome....I used to stop by here looking for drum loops (I hate programming midi) till I hit the track tab & did some searching by genre...found some fine talent amont the crowd & a very supportive little community of musicians/producers..Reading your bio I was struck by the frustration/pain you must have had being so rudely pulled away from the guitar (its been a long addiction for me...I I`m not looking for a cure)...You have a fine voice and your strumming seems to be back in full swing...very nice job on this one....keep on...and if I can lend a hand just hit my contact button...I`m just next door in Regina where we`re freezing our asses off lately.....Ed
Yes I did! I found it via twitter, and it looked like a good community to get some much-needed feedback so I did what I always do... both feet first! :)
It was really tough for those years, felt like walking around wearing earmuffs and dark glasses in a dark & quiet world. Even with limited capacity, it's elating to be able to play again. I feel like I'm me for the first time in years.
Thanks for the compliments - I really DO need to get more vocal practice in after all these years of hiatus.
Next track I post, it's more vocal anchor, and I'll allow downloads for that one. But be warned: it's a tear-jerker.
And I may just take you up on that offer... soon! :)
Very nice!
This reminds me somehow of INXS and Disappear, I've been listening to it lately to have the bassline from that song to permanently and magically stuck in to my mind (it's not working by the way).
The track is me on vox and guitar, and the rest is all midi-converted-to-wav for mixing purposes. I know my balance is still off, but the other parts are kind of placeholders for when I find some people to lay some tracks down for me.
Thanks very much for your feedback!
Rock On!

While the situations differ, I am sure your grieving was no less.
Peace,

Did someone tell you that this voice (yours?) is first of all brilliant and than like Eddie Vedder or I am the first? :-)
No words... fabulous song...classic piece of artwork...
Thanx for the upload, 10/10, Danke
(And you're the 2nd to tell me I sound like Eddie Vedder. I thought the first guy was crazy lol, Eddie's a genious with an awesome vocal performance.)

Beautiful song and from the heart, as a lot of good songs are. I know exactly where you are coming from.
Best wishes,
Mark/Larry!
Much appreciated.
