thanks for having a listen. I agree. We made this many years ago now. I think I would be able to mix it better now. I am not 100% sure I have the files still. Thanks again.

Hi tsochai. Thanks for having a listen and the encouragement. You have some great tracks too. I have made a lot but really haven't posted anything - I probably should. I've been working with singers and the general live experience. Then dabbling in the dark arts of electronics synths, samples in my spare time etc Although not even that recent my more recent stuff has perhaps been posted on Soundcloud (link in profile). Don't hesitate to ask if you need some guitar or bass on pone of your tracks.

Hi.

I'm going to have to disagree and say that I'm not keen on the vocal style. She can certainly sing, I'm just not keen on the pop style of singing but have trouble explaining why. I understand that lots of people will love it.

Anyway, the music is really good. Double bass is very strong and the gentle beat (dry drums) works well. Then I can hear some relaxed keys and subtle guitar parts.

2:08 guitar solo is good but seems a little too distant. Perhaps just turn up the volume.

Drums get stronger at certain points, which provides some good contrast.

Really chilled stuff.

Congrats.

thanks heaps for having a listen Static Nomad. I have a lot of respect for your music. The relaxed keys is my one hand playing and there are two guitar types in use. One, my 1968 YamahaSA30T which is muted with a wah effect (rather than a pedal) that seemed to work with single strum arpeggio like chords. The solo is my Strat and i think you are right, it could have come up a couple of db - it is that constant internal battle as a guitar player (how much should I bring the guitar forward?) until it gets to a point i give up and go 'that will do'. I also was a little conscience of trying to put the instruments back in the mix a bit - not that Iti Yati asked for that guitar solo to be quiet. Thanks again for having a really good listen.

The production on this track is top notch. Everything sits perfectly within the mix, and it's impossible not to compliment Iti Yati's great voice. Amazing work.

Thank you for those comments sheensheep. It means a lot to us. We fine-tuned and fine-tuned to get it as good as we could. I don't know if I will ever be 100% happy but it is the best I can do at this point in time.

Hey mate

Greetings from chilly Perth to fellow Aussie in even chillier Albany, don't listen to much Reggae, but this a pleasure to the ears, is that you on the guitar, sounds good, very enjoyable listen, nice relax vibe and groove...Peace mate...Fav'd...mosaic...

thanks heaps Mosaic. All encouragement is appreciated and needed :) Yes, that is me playing 2 or 3 guitar tracks. The skank, almost percussion like is my 1968 Yamaha SA-T (that i bought in Japan last year) and the solo bits in between are my Fender Strat., plus i am playing the simple little keyboards using a Novation midi keyboard and a Toontrack Rhodes VST. I only made the track showing how the bass track, which I uploaded as a loop - can be used or even just to hear it in a mix. Thanks again.

Very cool collab, nice relaxed vibe and some great vox! Wish there were more songs like this uploaded here. Horns were a nice touch and some good use of reverb, really brings the mix together.

Well done!

thanks heaps for your encouragement is much appreciated. It was really fun to make and all I could hope from a collaboration. We were also lucky enough to have this tune played on a radio station out of USA too - which is a buzz

It was truly a "Union of creation" but not that that's what the lyrics are about.

Very nice tune, love it! Vocals are excellent and solid instrumental choice for the little licks in between.

Thing I love most is that it sounds like a live recording, or at least it has that feel to it. So it makes it very much alive.

Well done! :)

It's good to hear some reggae on the loop. We don't hear much of it here...Good job!

Cheers,
Scott

P.S. It doesn't sound chaotic to me! Not sure where that came from.

thank u. reggae with its off beat nature has a simple yet busy-ness about it. Im wondering if that's what he heard. Your encouragement is valued.

Hey Couchie

Really liking this piece, vocals sounding so great, don't know anything about the genre, but loving what you have done here, Notice you from Albany, I'm originally from Esperance, lived in Albany running restaurant called Hands On situated on Stirling terrace for 7 months before coming through to Perth , think rest is called old salt or something like that now, I try to get down to Albany usually 2 times a year for holiday and see friends there...Impressive track friend....FAV...Peace n Respect...Mosaic...

Thanks heaps Moasic I am really glad u like it. It seems easier for ppl to troll on the net so your encouragement is a good reflection on u. Iti Yati (vocals) and I were happy with it. A lot of discussion between us tweeking this part and that to get it to what it is.U can download a WAV version from Soundcloud if u would like to https://soundcloud.com/couchpot-1/final-final-union
as far the World Wide Web goes we are practically neighbours, if i wasn't spending 2015 in Japan. Esperance is a great place ive some gd friends there and Perth. THe fishing is rubbish here compared to there but the population may have something to do with it :) ive heard some of yr stuff and it is good. hit me up if u need some guitar on something

that's a pity. have to admit i don't mind a bit of chaos. i also find too much cut and paste perfection bores me. but thanks for your opinion
