sick dude.... absolutely love your bass and your stutters on the beat.... for me the really high pitched tones at around 1.45 are a little too high and are a little too persistant... maybe bring em down a couple octaves. Really sick track overall though!
there are some really nice ideas here brother.. just for me the beep over takes everything in the track i get that you want it to be a focal point but it's just a little too high in the mix.. ya bass line all though deep and wobbly as it should be.. is a little muddy maybe it's because you using effects on your sub(something jahknow taught me you shouldn't do... he really is quite a knowledgeable fellow ) or maybe it's that your just too low on the scale I don't know for sure.. the drum track is a good mix of sounds perhaps need a touch less low end cause remember anything in that low end is going to take away from ya sub.. having said all that I don't dislike the track.. these aren't criticisms they're just suggestions for a few little tweaks...
I'm setting up a radio show playing unsigned dubstep at the minute and I would like your permission to play ' Eat Your Cake ' on the shows, but you need to be an unsigned artist (without a record deal) and the track needs to be totally yours (you have to have completely made it yourself using fl studio or whatever you used)
Ta, I'm off to do some more dubstep hunting,
K. Steppa,
Hey man. Yeah, that's awesome :) Use it if you want. I'm about to upload a free LP, again all my own stuff, if you wanna have a listen through that. Also, yeah, this is all my own work, and I'm not signed, so go for it :)
Peace.
Kii.
I love it man. That bass is soooo juicy. Anywho i was wondering how you got your 3xOSC to do that cool sound. I cant seem to get that wobble goin. Got any tips?
On the bass, I created a synth on the 3xOsc, then fed it through the Fruity Filter, put oscillation on the Cutoff, and then put the same oscillation on the Resonance, but opposite, so when the cutoff goes down, the reso goes up, get me?
Very interesting intro, loving the glitch f/x. The acapella needs to be poking through the mix a bit more. the EQUO equalizer has a good 'vocals enhancer' preset to help with that.
Love that synth around 4mins, very dissonant, very nice.
Nice beat man, very good use of sample, sounded great. Bassline is very, well, I can't really think of the word.
You know those things you get, about 7 inches long, and they slip right through your hands and stuff. Imagine someone slapped you with one of them, and you got knocked out, that bassline is the sound you'd hear. Wait, I remembered what I was gonna say, it's really resonant and mushy, I know what you're thinking, why don't I just go back and replace that stupid description with what I actually meant to say but I thought you'd like to read it.
Very well produced track all in all, lots of nice effects and variation which makes a track go from good to great. Good job brah.
On to the drums... the bass hit is a standard drum hit, pitch shifted down an octave and distorted. The breaks are a Amen Break sliced to bits in the Fruity Slicer :)
Hope that helps.
I like this a lot.It's a gr8 track with a funky vibe!Dean has talent and I'm sure u helped a gr8 deal with the production etc,
It's a fav for sure.I'm hooked,it's so funk!ng catchy!well done guys!!!
i like the melody after the drop.
the effects for the chopped synth are nice!
my ears are going nuts!!!!! haha
guitar solo transposed to synth, wicked.
(im reviewing the song as i listen to it, speaking my first thoughts)
so far this is a really nice track!!
forreal.
maybe compress the snare a bit.
second drop hit, nice.
like spivkurl said, im amazed by the sound created from the 3xOSC.
nice layers.
I like the dark, kind of glitchy sound you've created with this track. Cool intro of course, but I like it when the track gets going. The piano really fits in. I'd like to hear where you go with this track.
I'm lovin the quitars on this one, they sound quite cool. The drums are also quite exciting! Impressive bass if it comes from 3xOsc, it sounds very good! Cool unique style to this remix! You've created a nice groove here. Thanks for letting us hear it!
The bass is 4 completely different 3xOsc's layered on top of each other, then fed through a phaser and some glitch :) I spent absolutely ages trying to get it right XD.
This is an excellent track. The beats and bass really make me want to move, or get going doing something. You had me dancing in front of my guinea pig. Love the synthesis on this track. Nice work, I'm gonna fave and DL this one!
Kii:- Hey man, cheers for the review, guinea pigs are the best type of pigs to dance in front of, I hear :). And he's not bad is he? I taught him everything he knows XD.
Dean:- Thanks a lot :) I was actually thinking I'd get a bad review or something since it's my first song on FL. Dancing in front of your guinea pig? that's awesome :D lol
Mmm, good bass. Just the 3 oscillators? Did I ever send you thing with 30? :D I like the wobble on this one, just beef out the whole song and it'll be a good 'un.
Play 2 now...
Hmm, I'm thinkin that this track is soundin alright, but do agree that it needs something. Perhaps, what it needs is some effects and such placed over the entire song. Like throw on some filters and have 'em come in and out with their strength. Maybe add some slight reverb to the entire thing to give it a sense of depth. And adding some fades and accent changes would be keen too. Other than that this has a pretty nice groove to it. Just needs a lil extra juice and you'll be good to go. Keep bangin 'em out mate. Later on!
Hey man.
Yeah, I'm thinking about completely redoing this song. This was an early attempt at dubstep, and I didn't know too much about the structure etc, so I do think although this is a good start, it really needs to be redone.
Thanks for the review.
Peace.
