Actually, I'm kinda reminded of some daytime court shows when I hear this (like the People's Court on acid). Though it does have a sorta retro 70s vibe with the guitar stuff that makes me think of the San Francisco level of the PS1 game Driver (if you ever played it). Dunno if I'd call this Jazz though, maybe Fusion (because of the mix of different sounds). Interesting stuff mate. Later on!
Play 2 now...
The beat on this kinda reminds me of the way an old ceiling fan sounds when it's set on high and the spin causes it to vibrate a little. Something I've heard many a summer night while trying to fall asleep. And the piano sequence ya had on here was choice. Had me thinkin of huge grandfather clocks for some odd reason.
Anyways, so this is 'dubstep' huh? Not what I was expecting (when compared to dub), but not bad either. Kinda like the chill side of jungle? Anyways, thanks for sharing. Later on!
There's an ambulance siren outside perfectly in sync with this track, it's OSSUM. See what I did there? Love the glitch variation, works very well. That' all for now.
Later.
I like the beat track alot! There are many good ideas in your piece but I think you should elaborate it a bit more. In my opinion the piano is too flat: add more nuance in the playing and an effect. I also think that you should have a break to make your piece breathe and it would be good also to have a B-part that stands in contrast with the rest. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Drums are like, woaah. Even though this has been playing a lot in my house I haven't properly listened to it yet. Really like what you've done with the bass, the glitch is almost unnoticeable it flows so well [that's a good thing]
I really like the sound of the bass on this one, and the clicky percussion is really cool. The whole track has kind of an eerie vibe to it. Cool track!
Play 2 now...
Nice lil retro fills ya threw in here. Reminded me of those lil ray-gun keychain toys from back in the 80s that had like 5 or 6 different weapon sounds on it. The only part I didn't much fancy were the vocals, beyond that this was pretty cool. Later on!
man, i like those intro beats there. i was really hoping for some smashing kicks to drop (just my preference) but still i think you have a decent track in the works!!!!
if you like i would love to have a go at adding a different beat to it!
anyways, killa lil tune bro!!!
PEACE!
Butcha d-_-b
Hah! i know that loop! Great work! you ever listen to breakcore or Hard jungle? they use that dark amen like no other. Anyhow the rest of the track is excellent, although id love to hear more organic synths, but thats really a personal taste. Great work with the drums, They are truly squarepusher quality.
Wow man... a comparison to squarepusher is one hell of a compliment. Cheers dude! I got this massive grin from ear to ear now =D.
And yeah man, I've listened to a little bit of breakcore. I like a couple of Venetian Snares stuff, but I'm not really a fan of the wierd time signatures. I shall check out some hard jungle, sounds like it could be good!
Thanks for the review dude, means a lot! Serious.
Peace, man.
Kii.
Ooh yeah, I like it.
Great slicing on the amen, sounds awesome.
Generally speaking throughout the song it feels more thick and powerful and in my opinion is far better than the original track.
Good job friend, good job.
Not better, different. Remember dude, this wouldn't have been possible without your track.
Thanks for letting me do this dude. I think this has turned out to be my best track to date.
Thanks for the review.
Peace, brah.

I love the filtered strings, it gives a really bouncey feel to the track. It's also great how the bass and the strings play together, very creative. Even the drums are subtly powerful on this one. Nice work! Thanks for sharing!
Okay I dunno what's up with this site lately... cuz I type a review then realize it's not there. It's gotten to the point I've started double checking every review I make. Anyway... this is the new version of the track then? I was gonna compare, misread and thought this was the old one.
This is a pretty wicked track man, I don't know what you did differently exactly because I didn't hear the first...but I love the way this sounds in my headphones. EDIT: Yay that comment stayed!
Thanks for the review, Lisa, means a lot.
Basically, I messed around with some filters on the bass and the sample, so that where it just had a wobble on the volume, I put on on a couple of effects, to give it that pretty messed up sound. I also cut the intro a bit.
Thanks again for the review.
Kii.
Really great track, lots of variation in it, I love the breakdown in the latter half, has a sorta Muse-y feel to it with all the arps etc. The only let down is the guitar synths, I might be able to help you with recording some of the guitar stuff. Just let me know.
Also, thanks for using my synths loop :D
you made really good use of the samples that you chose to work with. but i feel like the bass of the song was underplayed/understated. overall the general progression of the track is on point.it wasn't to repetitive, which is a great thing. you did a great job man! and good luck in the comp, may the best beat win
I know what you mean dude, I kinda had to rush this, and my audio setup at the moment is terrible because I broke my headphones :/.
Thanks for the review dude (Y)
Peace.
K Im just gonna have to review again lol to answer your question. I'll try and elaborate a bit more.
Hmm its quite hard to really. You've done rather well with it, But i guess sometimes the bass line just continues in the same fashion as it started too. Im not sure the synth or the sound that your using matches the song either really, you could try fiddling around with some other synths here and there just to see what kind of results you get.
I think what really makes a dubstep song sound like its done by a professional is an original sound. The bass your using there sounds like it could quite easily be a wasp or something like that, its just a bit, and please dont be offended, but its quite standard.
Instead of changing it (if theres far to much automation to port along with the change or its just to much hassle) Have a go at using a bass tightener as an effect on it, i'd reccommend Sanford Bass Tightener, its free and works rather well. Set it to High, 24, Cutoff around about 400/500, all the way over to stereo, and the bass amp up as much as you want. It makes basses sound alot nicer and thicker. I dont always use it but its nice in some cases. I think it might work well here.
And you dont just have to stick with one bassline, you could always whack another slower bass in the background, doesnt even need an LFO, just play around and see how it sounds.
I do like the bit where it stops and goes booooowuuuumm, at the end of the bar its like a tom that pitches down, its nice and adds a bit of flavor to the song. Its good, i wouldnt have reviewed it in the first place if i didnt like it! :P
hehe i hope that helps and i didnt sound to patronising at all, i always think i come across that way and i never mean to be :)
Hey man, thanks.
It's not patronising at all dude, I needed this, dude.
I've gone back and fiddled around with the bass some more, and I get what you mean, too. The problem is that I don't know enough about FL yet to get more different bass sound, you know?
But yeah, I'm giving it another shot.
And please don't worry about sounding patronising, I asked you fo the advice :P.
Peace, bro.
Kazm.
I do like this one. Its rather different, the string sample is excellent, i must say, and i know you didnt make it but it fits in well with this song and you've cut it up nicely. The bassline is good, but i think it could do with a little bit of work, there are some parts where it just seems to get a bit lazy, but on the whole a cool sounding track withs nice riffs and a good atmosphere :)
Hey dude, thanks for the review.
Just wondering, could you elaborate on what you mean by lazy? Don't mean that in an arrogant way (:P lol) just wanna know how to improve it like.
Thanks dude.
Peace.
Kii.
I really like the airy synth on this one, as MC said the contrast between the sharp drums and smooth synths is good. In my opinion the gargling synth lets this song down, other than that though, top notch. Your production skills are improving vastly.
Nah man, the gargle MAKES the tune :P
Ah well, each to their own opinion, eh?
Just to let you know though, I won't be changing it lol :P.
Thanks for the review man.

Dubstep is such a varied genre. If you wanna hear the more Dub side of it, check out something like Naked by Shackleton. It's not as electronic.
Cheers again for the review man, your words mean a lot!
