There is one low note played in the subbass register and I agree that it is not prominent enough (regarding to modern standards). not a bassline really but a modern creepy trappy kind of poor bassline.
after taking a listen to the original I must say I liked your interpretation somehow. Overall I can't help recall https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYsvZESoAuQ each time detuned techno synths appear in contemporary dance music. adding single filtered string notes (I see you manipulated the ROOM amount very carefully) was interesting. It changes somehow the color of the acapella and you seem adding new words and meanings even. So I assume it is kind of mental try/remix.
You seem operating on very different level. I am struggling by creating everything myself almost entirely from scratch, you know? Patterns, scales, progressions and things haha LOL
Nice to be able to listen to looperman takes of the very mainstream. Good luck!
Listened again, just to check things out. The sub is definitely plugged in. I listened to other things that day, so I don't think it's my system or my ears regarding the bass. I hear some low frequency action in the kick drums, but cannot pick out a bass line of any sort other than the drop. I have it turned up pretty loud this time as well. Oh well, just different ears I guess.
I think the arrangement on this song is cool. The style is not one I like much. I've grown to really dislike the modern obsession with "drops," and music like this is basically created for the drops. Someone mentioned "future bass," and honestly I could barely hear any bass at all, even with my sub turned all the way up. Maybe that is "future bass" though... a lack of low frequencies? Other than those things, I think you mixed it well. Keep doing what you do!
thanks for the comment!
i actually think there's a good amount of bass in this song.. maybe i'm doing something wrong or maybe your sub wasn't plugged in? :)
Just listened to the original one, and my gosh, you chose an awesome track to remix. Really enjoyed it. You have taken a more future bass remix on this. Really, REALLY loving your creativity on here. You have full control of the whole track. The vocals also compliment your mix greatly as the original did. You covered this mix with ease and would totally recommend you submit your remix to a YouTube promoter group to def get some highlight on your work. Congrats on your remix, man! Cheers!
Had to do a quick look up of the original to see what I'm comparing against...
And wow man I really like this new flavor and pace you put on this track. It seems like a lot of work went into making this remix. I felt that the synths that came in at :50 sec felt a little flat on the high end but I loved the melody. Very addictive. I like that little fling pop bell lol I don't know what to call it directly after the synth. That was a nice touch. Very creative track I enjoyed it.
Great work, I have to say...when I listened to Doe's original version (after yours), thought that you made it with brilliant creativity...perhaps this is the point of making remixes...:-)
Just that high toned synth is a bit weird for me...
I think the drums coulda had a tad more crispy punch and a tad more presence in the mix but thats just my opinion :P The song structure was really cool, could have been a tad more complex in some spots but overall a great composition.
Awesome kick ass intro, but the breakdown at 1:05 was amazing. Like an Electro Processional piece. 1:49 solidified this as an electro tune. Great Work
Cru
holyyy $$@%@ i imagined this was going to be a remake of the Zeppelin's track then you came and dropped this bomb. I just didnt enjoy that 1:49 part for some reason, but its still a great track :)
Hey man! This remix is amazing! It's got a real future-bassy feel to it.
Your saw pads are flawless and the little "woo!" sample you put in there is great too! It's one of those sounds you're excited to hear the next time it comes around!
Keep up the good work and check out some of my stuff too! :)
Really liked this. I would master it to get a bigger sound, you know, like a bit of sub bass roll off, and some gated reverb on the higher percussion, to throw it back behind the speakers. but that's just my own preference. It's a great sound. Mix is perfect.
wow . i havent been on loopy for a min but it sounds like the level of production quilaity has been raised. This is a radiop worthy remix and allthough i dont know the original im sure u did it justice. Very Pop Heavy as u intended and very easy to listen to... HIt me with some of that hard shit and u might have a new fan.. All LOve DUb
