This is pretty cool! I like how the different instruments interact. Just going through the new 8 bit genre to see what showed up. Very nice track! Faved for sure!

This is cool, ha! I knew you listened to Prodigy! My suggestion would be to add some crazy breakdown with some octave shifting synths and maybe an electronic guitar riff or something at the end.

Thanks for the advice, the guitar could be really sweet.

I listened to three of your tracks and I seem to like them all about the 1.50 / 2 min mark, because you have a trend of building them up and releasing the bass there. This was smooth and relaxing just the way it was. Maybe its not missing anything, other than another two minutes of it by mixing the high tones up, each time introduce each new tone and follow with the bass, then wrap them all up at the end to overlap in sync. After a day of blasting my ears, this was nice.

Yeah I can't seem to keep the song interesting at times. The other problem I have is not holding on melodies long enough for people to get into them and then finding a way to really drop something that makes me people want to like jump and go nuts.

on Bang by djbirchtree
hey man sweet track, if u dont mind me asking what type of synth did u use for the 1:40 drop? was it downloaded vst or just a vst that fl has?
djbirchtree
djbirchtree replied Unknown
PolyIblit with some distortion. All freebie VST's. I have only paid for FL studio and Drummaxx.

This track is cool man, i like the synth sounds you used and like the general overtone of the song. i think it would be even greater if you added one more synth line. maybe one that rides a longer melody out... just a suggestion but it still sounds nice as is.

ive been listening to trance tunes, and i've noticed that not just the bassline, but the melody has increased by a few octaves.
it seems that your'e along that path as well, no?

i love the start of the track, nicely dark and menacing. i also liked the breakdown until you doubled up the notes.. i think you could have brought in another purer sound to go against the dark but thats just me.. keep up the good work.great to see america is finally waking up to some great dance music.

Thanks for the review, I tried to adjust the eq just a bit to clean it up a little bit. I appreciate the advice, I suspect this song may be a work in progress for the while, and hello from Vermont, USA! (a lonely place for electronic fans haha)

straight into the intro it feels dark and deep already. although i do feel that the riffs in the intro should of lasted afew more bars i was just getting into it! lol but they come back so its all good! nice dark trance, faved

Extended quite a bit and added a higher version of the trance riff to break it up a bit. I can never tell how long I should stay in a beat before I change it. I tend to cut it too short but I think that the new uploaded version is better. Let me know what you think!

on Fudged up dream by djbirchtree
My opinion is a bit mixed here... the chord progression is kinda weird, it did not progress at all as I expected the first time I heard it, and it didn't sound too good to my ears. The various melodies don't really sing that well together either, so I think the composition itself is kind of... weak (don't know a better word to use here). The sounds themselves however, are very cool and fit nicely together in the mix as well. I guess what I really want to hear is the same setup of synths and stuff, but in a different song. :P
djbirchtree
djbirchtree replied Unknown
Yeah kind of what i was thinking, I haven't really mixed it yet but I think that I will probably try some other stuff with what I have so far.
