I love the sound on your tracks. This piece is yet another gem of the four or five I've listened to today. Consistent great work with an a unique sound. You (you guys) appear to be on to something.
thanx a lot for all the listens, wow, I havnt been on here for nearley a year, we have got tons of new stuff, better produced with better skillz and eqipment, I cant wait to share here, ill start posting when I get a minute or 20 spare ;)
Beautiful tribute to your friend. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my youngest brother only months ago, before that two uncles, an aunt and a cousin who used to be my best friend. I know your pain.
haha nice one bro!!!! , thats wot I thought about this track, ive grown to absoluteley love it, and thats saying a lot seeing as I mustve heard segments from the track over a billion zillion times lol....yeah its a classic in my track library!....thanks again dude, I swear ill finf the time to have a listen to ur tracks soon mate ;)
I recognized those vocals from somewhere (an acapella off of here or a program like Fl Studios or Reason, my mind aint workin right now, haha). As for the music, yeah, it is kinda all over the place. Sorta wanna say it's nu-electro or maybe electro-pop? Kinda makes me think of something that'd be on a Justin Timberlake or JC Chasez album. Or what it'd be like if they did a collab with Robin Thicke. Anyways, this is pretty jammin bud. Dig what you've got goin on here. Lates!
I like this Grime thing. Atleast your take on it, I always thought it was somethin else, style-wise, from past listens and all that, but yours has kind of a Dubby vibe to it. (not shamelessly self-promoting here, but) In a way it kinda reminds me of what I did with Bump Bump (the flavor). Kinda makes me wanna throw down on a collab with ya to do something similar to this (and the other). If yer game, lemme know (I'm flexible).
Back on track with the track, the bass and drums are superb, and those horns were a really nice touch. Would it be possible to highlight the vocals more coz I kinda wanted for there to be more of them on here. At any rate, truly top-notch stuff here mate. Savd/favd. Lates!
I hadta recheck the time coz for a sec there I thought I was zonin out or smtn.
Okies, 2nd play now. I'm gonna be honest this has got me bobbin my head (kind like that track Canned Beat by Mr.Ozio, but with a smoother vibe to it). And in a way this reminds me of my buddy Splish's style somewhat. Have you ever heard any of his chunes?
And in looking for another thread I saw the one for this. So I'm def glad I could help ya out mate. It's always flattering and cool to hear people come up with chillin grooves like this. And this got me to thinkin, ever consider messin around with the Trip-hop genre? I'm thinkin you'd have fun with it too. Off for now. Lates!
I put this track on first without reading what you'd put, and I thought wow that's a different style for the Dubz-man. then I realized this sound is coming from a band.. The Gordyz are going places..indie-rock with the live energy and what I would call "skiffle" beat from the 60's. no such genre on loopland so rock it is !!
Hi Dubz, send me the track without the synth sax and i will add a real horn to it.. I have sent you a message with my mail addy... I like the upbeat feel to this track considering the subject matter. I gather Gigzy was a bit of a cheecky chappy, only the good die young so they say! I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but it's great you have made such a positive track...
They are really awesome, I would have to agree! I bet they can rock a show, because this recording does a great job of capturing their live energy. That is something that I need to work on in terms of production: getting the live feel of a good band. I wish you all the luck in the world, I think you are onto something with this!
Minor issue (possibly just me, YMMV), the delay on the vocals where the singer says something about "shining every day" or "smile on my face" that echoes a third time might sound better if it only goes once.
EDIT: Effing incredible. I like it more with each listening. Hell, I don't even know if you changed anything.
yes bro, lol, funnY u say that cos i just fixed that the other day, i know wot u meant, it kinda overlapped the Commencing Vocals didnt it, well, ive Done that now Plus a few other things so stay posted and i think itll be uploaded next week
i would maybe drop the tempo, slow it down a little? but then again, it adds to the feel being up-tempo.
drums more in the mix , at least the kick for me.. i love HEAVY kicks.
dare i say, add some reverb? on the mastering?
vocals could be pumped up with some production, i googled this very quickly, maybe there is something in there for you. http://www.harmony-central.com/articles/tips/vocal_processing_tips_2/
simple-pure heartfelt music.
great bass, lyrics, singing, acoustic guitar work!
you could go a lotta ways with this one, but keep it simple.
thanx so much av, this iz the kind ov review i want, ill check that link straight away and ur right about the drums, just yesterday me and jono (singer) sat down and itroduced a bass drum and weve changed the snare to more ov a rimshot and ill heed ur warning on keeping it simple ur the second person to say that to me today mate , thanx bro
