unique track, the thing that stands out to me mainly is that plucky sounding bass which i think is cool!!
whoomp....whoomp....whoomp etc
u know the one, v.cool!!
tc
i am feeling this track !!
remind me of a tech itch track called "retribution", along them lines anyways..
its the vocals which makes me think of that tune..
but all in all is a top tune and maybe a bit more bass or low end coming out more (sub)
but very cool man keep it up!!!!
Thanks Dj_DARKSTEPZ, I really appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Check back at some point coz i'm still working on this one and I'm feeling inspired.
This sounds good after you've done some more work on it. The bass is really cool, and I like the samples you've used. Seems like a fun track to mix. Nice work!
EDIT- This sounds even cooler now. Nice fusion of styles on this track!
Thank you! Yeah it's good fun to work on (neighbours probably don't agree) especially working on weaving the guitar parts together. This version should be letting more of the subbass through too which is hopefully being kept under control....really must stop mixing late at night ;)
PRETTY GOOD! REMEMBER ME PRODIGY! GOOD WORK MAN. IF YOU COULD TAKE THE BEST OF THE 7:23 AND MINIMISE TO 5 MINUTES OR SOMETHING, I THINK WORK BETTER! (SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH)
i like this track a lot especially the way the two grooves work together when the guitar comes in and the double-time feel at the end.the ending vamp may be a little long but it ends cool with the guitar part. great job!
The tempo is a little slow for a dancefloor D&B tune, needs another 10-20bpm, BUT I lost the slow groove feel of the guitars etc, so I decided to keep with the 80/160 bpm feel. Thank you for your comments. I hope you'll check out the next version once i get back onto it.
Play 2 now...
Yeah, this was a pretty sweet mix of styles. Though ya might wanna go back n rework the ending because it began to sound a bit repetitive. And was there supposed to be a small silent gap at the beginning? Very creative stuff here though. Thanks for sharing. Later on!
Yeah the ending needs work, I'm gonna take a break from it for a week or so and come back to it with fresh ears...Also the gap at the beggining is just me being very lazy, not editing the final wav file before converting :P Thank you for your comments.
The bass was taken from Live7 as a preset sound(can't remember which one now though), sequenced and heavily distorted using the tube plugin and overdrive in Live7. I recorded that into Logic, split it over two channels and EQ'd so I could treat the mid and bottom seperately. I then compressed both channels and added a phaser to the top end. I was aiming for something similar to the snarling bass sound Cliff Burton used to make ;)
Glad you liked it and hope you enjoy the 2nd version.
The drums sounds top notch, so I think your experimentation really paid off. I like the simple bass line, it really drives the song. Nice synth FX, the compliment the beat well. Good flutes too. Nice work! Thanks for sharing!

I like how you have fused the two genres. A solid beat with that heavy distorted guitar sounds really good. What effects do you have on the bass?
Keep it up!
