feels like I walked in to a 90s high school dance... and I love that feeling lol the only thing is it needs something to keep me captivated in the beginning

lol I dont think I can escape my roots. I was born in 89. As kids, I remember me and my brothers falling in love with mortal kombat. We used to get pumped up and start wrestling around and fighting with each other when the main song came on at the end of the movie lol. I think hear pretty soon we should start hearing more grunge come back into the scene but the dance music from then was super energetic. I admit its a little weak at the beginning. I use omnisphere as my vsti for synths and it has like 50 gigs worth of soundsources to pull from. This is an unfinished mix as you can tell so Im always glad when the looperman community gives me pointers. Thanks for the advice MichaelMayo !

I love the sounds of this, how did you make this?

Also I agree with everyone else on the loudness of the sounds. There is a lot of ways to make it louder. Though compressors or other plugins similar to compressors.

Have you made a full song to this yet?

firtst off thank you! I spend a lot of time after writing just trying to find synths that play the part better and blends with the others. MY main vsti is Omnisphere. It has around 50 gigabytes of soundsources. Im actually about to post the updated track in a few minutes. thanks for listening!

This gain plugin is free as well. It works best if you set it up as a bus & route up to six tracks to it.

This plugin will help you with setting volume levels & it's free.
I use it on the master track in conjunction with rea volume pan smoother & rea Xcomp multiband compressor. You can get decent volume control with that combination.

I have Reaper & yeah, reaper tracks can be volume challenged. You can get two free masters a month from LANDR, which will make your tracks loud AF if you want them to be.

I like this as it has a certain melancholy to it. You can make it louder in Audacity or an old program like Sound Forge. A Nice VST like Sausage Fattener would work as well. And yes, it is too short.

Ah man, Im sorry about that. im not sure what I did, maybe a compressor? but I was having trouble getting this track to render on normal volume. I used omnisphere and drum pro for my vsts. Reaper as my daw. anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

oh man im glad someone mentioned something about the production, I write music for fun so the whole learning about how to run reaper and vst plugins/midirouting, has been a slowlearning process. Ive watched youtube videos on how people usually approach mixing so its always a work in progress. I feel like it got a little messy there towards the end where I played all the instruments lines at once. probably couldve dropped the levels there a little bit. Thanks for the feedback Lank! Thanks for listening :)

I’m listening on my cell phone. Great energy, makes me wanna dance. :-) As I listened more I think maybe a change somewhere in here would make it even better. But good work.

I noticed the bass can barely be heard at all if you arent wearing headphones or have good monitors. Makes ya wanna dance huh? Thats actually pretty cool! never thought it would have that affect on anyone lol. I admit it was a little too repetitive. I had no idea where to go with it tbh. Thank you for the input btw!

any feedback is good feedback. I gotta agree, it was repetitive. I really didnt know where to go with it tbh. I figured I could get away with it since ive heard plenty of synthwave on youtube thats even more repetitive than that track lol. But thanks Alot! I always appreciate another artitsts input. I spent like 6hrs straight working on that last night. I loaded around midnight so i gotta a little lazy with it haha

I like the energy in this track, nice work.

thank you :) it was such a pain writing bc the rhythmic synth with evolving motion was really wearing out the midi clock or whatever in my project. it kept falling out every time id change any of the pieces in the project. thanks for the words tho!

Cool. Love the reverb on the snare. It's trippin.

thanks alot! I meant to post the synth tracks separate from each other so people could take what the wanted but i wanted everyone to also hear it all put together. I used a trigger gate/sequencer on the drums. it sounds Way different dry.
