Thanx Par!I thought it sounded pretty good without the drums but My friend Mike may hear drums in his minds eye.I think I might redo the acoustic guitar the micing wasn't great, and maybe bring the electric up a little in the mix.
Great job. A song with energy and well-mixed ... and how not to ... with a vocal section that has left me nailed to my seat from 1:35. What else I can say?
Thank you Vincen!I'm trying to get better with my mixing so I appreciate your thoughts. And yes there are so many people who are consumed with rage, its not the way to live our lives.
I have to agree, this reminds me of the early days of Kansas, when Lynn Meredith was the lead singer.
Really love the southern rock feel on this one. I didn't even notice the drums missing.....guess that shows the vocals and guitar work were plenty strong enough to carry the song.
And you carried it well. Outstanding effort. Thanks for sharing.
Hey thanx a million Bear!Wow I haven't heard the name Lynn Meredeth in a long time!Would love to get my hand on some early Kansas stuff with Lynn,I've heard of him but never heard his vocals.
Thank you so much Vicen!I think I may try to get my friend to come over and we can rerecord this and get better levels. There was some clipping and the acoustic guitar wasn't mic'd well.
Wonderful song. This is where I make my stand up. Pace, urgency in a voice that rips the sky to break through. Excellent guitar solo. Good is not enough, is twice as good.
Thanx Vincen, your review means a lot to us!As always our friend Kikajon plays fantastic guitar and bass!It still blows my mind that we work together from two different sides of the world! Its for sure been a TansAtlantic Experience! At least 2 more songs on the way soon, either on Kikajon's page or here if needed.
Thanks man!I hadn't thought about it but I do kind of like the type of things Genesis used to do.Like the intros, and the combination of synth, piano and effects.
amazing singing.you`ve hot a great hard rock voice(u know it for sure)i started to really like this song after 1:40...i don`t think u sound like b.adams or motley...this is deeper ...maybe a queensryche feeling...dunno...the song needs some work (the instrumental, not the vocals) to become really perfect but it`s very well done a very good idea here
congrats for this one Tacatta...i hear the raw power of early twisted sister in this one...love the guitar your voice is AWESOME.maybe a living drummer is all this monster needs.great stuff.real american heavy metal...my fav for sure
Thanx a lot DJ!I'll pass on what you said about the guitar to my buddy Mike. And I wholeheartedly agree that this could use a live drummer.I asked one friend of mine but this really wasn't his style.
Great track! really love your voice, especially how well you use vibrato. Seems like less and less people use vibrato well these days, also great constrast in the mix.
Stellar job, J.B.
This is very good Jim..It's great to hear you working on material like this,I know the effort it takes and it's paying off for you.
2011 will be big..for all of us :)
Thanks for the review Allen! There is so much great music thats put out here on Looperman,I welcome the chance to be more versatile. Now if I can just get smoother at using loops...And man I'm with you in that 2011 will be big..for all of us :).Oh and did I mention that one of the reasons your such a great guitar player is your versatility!
Great Jim!!Your voice is in fine rock form on this one.
I like the guitar, it reminds me of several different people and that's cool..I am a rock guitar fan :)
Thanx Allen! My buddy Mike put the whole thing together a few years back, and I just kind of tried to match the intensity with the vocals and later the drums. Not sure if the drums are quite where they should be.
Really kool rockin track here Tacatta! The drums seemed like they were in a whole differnet sound barrier, but they had a really had very neat overall mix with the rest of the track!different sound here for metal then I use to hearing ! Now thats kool!
Thanx Brian!I really appreciate you checking out the track. My friend Mike pretty much had the whole song laid out,we just needed a drum track.I'm not as refined as I could be at working with my virtual drum software, hopefully the more I use it the smoother it'll get.
the beginning reminds me of alot of home sweet home from motley crue.i like it.i always pay attention to the lyrics no matter what im listening to and your lyrics my friend are deep.i feel it.these are the type of lyrics that get people through the darkest of days.keep it up man.good job.
Thanx a lot man I really appreciate it,especially the part about the lyrics! Now that you mention it it does sound like home sweet home in the beginning.I still have to tweak some stuff with this, especially the vocals on the piano part.

and the rest is just laying there.
I don't understand why the guitar parts seem so low its like
why isn't it loud more defined pronounced.
I guess you can retweak and get all that fixed yet the vocal stuff is cool indeed.
