I really like the way it begins, but after a couple seconds i feel like its been forever, once it gets going its really good, but the beginning makes me wanna scream "START!!" :)
lol accepted, id just bought my keys when i wrote this and i was in a daydream of those sounds,i coulda played the intro all day at the time! glad you liked it,thanks
I love this one. Certainly in the realm of Dark Ambiance, and I feel a direct continuation of early Coil recordings. Shades of Horse Rotivator or Scatology. The effected wind has a real connection to their recording "Five Minutes after Death".
The aspect I find really interesting here is how sonically this carries both a sense of anxiety, but connected with a sense of resignation, too. Very interesting to hear these two emotional locations connected like this. Maybe that's the remedy? To accept and deal instead of reject that emotion?
Absolutely fabulous work here, and worthy of adding to my list of personal favorites. Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words Nomad, the second paragraph here is spot on, funny thing is since ive started playing again i cannot recall an incident, and Coil are unknown pioneers, again, thanks
Very warm and smooth track. Really have nothing else to say. It has allot of great instruments and the arrangement is very natural and flows in a nice way, probably something I would heard while reading credits. It keeps interest and sounds nice. Just in case, I'm probably one of the few that actually reads movie credits so by me stating the above is not meant to be a negative thing. Quite the opposite actually :) Lastly, nice levels. Definitely fitting the music, nothing too loud or too low.
Ohhhh - I do love the bass thump here! The reoccurring pseudo-melody is really lovely, too - almost like an impression of a trumpet overcome by gale force winds into a crash.
This is really impressive work. Totally dance motivating, but with enough interesting things going on to appease the musical intelligensia as well. Awesome layering going on.
Funky backbeat, aye? It really threw me for the first two cycles, and then it works - amazingly well. I love how the rhythm and melody dance together in this piece. Great punctuation, too.
For some reason, I keep thinking of Indonesian gamelan though it's not really very similar. Perhaps the tuned percussion of the bells? In any event, it's a fantastic piece - compels dance, embodies a lovely Ambiance, and remains interesting until the final note. Sweet. Added to faves.
thanks for those great reviews, and yes at the moment my computer is giving me grief so next monday ill go to the desktop and im getting help to install the cubase so ill fire up some mixes of distinguish lol.
well i have lyrics and am trying to find a singer to wash their vocals over stay, and what probably throws you is a combination of bells and kalimba from the yamaha and a backup of deep synth, i love this track as i think it maintains an alternativeness yet will be commercially catchy...i believe.
great reviews and thanks!
ps i have a lot more on soundcloud.com/theassociation
The Ambient sensibility here is fantastic. I was jacked straight into the emotional location before the one minute mark.
I was going to give a recommendation on levels and separation of the channels, but I see you've addressed that with oskarssonPL already.
I love that bassline, and really would like to hear it emphasized. It's seriously reminiscent of the best of The Cure's basslines. To die in bliss for.
Nice work, will definately be checking out more from you. Cheers!
hey there... i really loved this track. simply because it reminded me of Orbital - Halcyon (off the Hackers soundtrack) - Have you heard it? It's such a cool tune, and this track of yours falls into that same "soundscape" - great work!
Loved it!
very cool stuff mate,i think if you made the bassline and drum a bit louder or more thumping using compressor it would very cool,i really like the melodies in this track and especially the bassline but its a bit low in volume, keep it up mate:))peace
