I like this one even more. In some ways your style reminds me of marty friedman and that's totally meant as a compliment.
The drum work is excellent with lots of variation and the faith no more style keyboard sound was a nice touch as well.
This one would have been a download had the option been there.
Hot stuff man!

Dude! You've got finger skills, ear skills and idea skills.
That pretty much covers everything as far as i'm concerned.
It's a small accolade but Allen V picked you as his tune of the day https://www.looperman.com/forum/thread/177378?page=4
Well it got me over here so clearly it works.
Anyway, Now i've heard one, More is inevitable!
Well done.

Wow E!
I'm glad I contacted you today...this is fantastic, the melody and your playing is awesome my friend,I gotta go through your track list.
It's a little sad and both funny how us guitarists take each other for granite sometimes...I just assume your tracks are great and don't visit like I should, and without commenting and telling you so.
That's something I can fix!

Very good and thanks.

Very nice chops indeed. I love the modes you change in between chords. I am a sucker for dual lead guitar lines... Fun and superb job. Ends a bit abruptly...I wish I could hear more ! Cheers and good job - Bilbozo

Thank you Bilbozo,

My biggest influence is probably Dream Theater. They tend to use great variation in modes in their music. I plan on finishing this one once I get a new computer. My old one crashed and I lost a large amount of work. I learned a lesson in the importance of regularly backing up my recording sessions. Anyway, thanks for checking out my song. I am now off to return the favor.

Another outstanding effort from you. As I found earlier, you play everything and you play everything extremely well. This is no exception. I love the tone you get from your guitar. That comes from a lifetime of work and effort. You set the bar really high. Bravo my friend, bravo.

This track is solid from top to bottom. No weaknesses anywhere. Drums sound like you were playing a real set, the guitar work is off the charts, and your synth work is stellar. It's hard to pick which instrument you play the best.....you excel at all of them. Top notch work on this one. You definitely have mad skills. I enjoyed the hell out of this one. Faved for sure.

Sounds great to me as it is. If there's fault anywhere, I don't hear it. From the arrangemt to the production, this baby hits home.

I agree with John: it started off with a bit of Sabbath influence, then slid into Megadeth\Metallica thrash, and then I thought I detected a nod to Slayer even. Fantastic job, jock ~ you put it all together very nicely. And your mastering skills are nonpareil, my friend.

Peace,

Interesting piece. There were points where I was torn as to which way to go (with the guitar or the piano). Each seemed to be saying follow me. Then when everything kicked it the two paths became one.

Great track (I'd soften up the ending, maybe)

Thanks JohnBoutilier! I am glad you like it. It will be a bit before I get this one completed. It's a work in progress. I hope to have it done in about a month or two. Work and College classes are keeping extremely busy right now. I listened to some of your songs and must say they sound great. Thanks again man!

In the beginning I thought I detected a Black Sabbath influence. It sounds like a hybrid of Sabbath and another group I can't remember the name of right now. Anyways, whatt you have here is an absolutely great piece of metal.

Thanks Kikajon! I have some major work to do on completing this one. I haven't decided what direction to take the rest of the song yet. It may also be a while before I can complete it due to having to go to work and attending college classes at the same time. But, I should find the time to get it done sometime in the next two months. Thanks for fav-ing man!

Great guitar sound guitarjock...I'm always chasing tone.
You have a variety of guitar licks on this track and they all sound fantastic, very tasteful! You make it sound effortless,
well done.
P.S.Drums are always a problem for me and you have them down,I love the rolls and kicks.

Wow!
Your guitar is on fire and the drumming is flaming too! Some parts of the drumtrack sounds like Bill Bruford goes heavy metal.
It's a fav!

/pmk

p.s. The cymbals sounds a bit over the top i my head set – like a lo res mp3. Does not change the fact that I'm a bit envious of your skills.

Edit: Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out.

Thanks Kikajon, ever since I got the EZdrummer software, I have finally been able to record the songs I have in my head. I'm not limited to the simple 4/4 timing found in most loops. I did notice that when mixed down to mp3, you do get a pretty big fidelity loss on the cymbals and hi hats. But the WAV file sounds great. I would absolutely recommend EZdrummer to anyone wanting that real sound for drum tracks. You should check out the youtube videos of people using EZdrummer and the Drums From Hell expansion; really cool stuff.

The drums sound great and read your response to Gord about using EZ Drummer. You aren't the first person I heard that likes them and they sound like real drums. Must look into those.

Your guitar playing is smoking, the arpegios were nice! Cool track man!

Thank you very much for the review. Yup, EZ Drummer is rather amazing. What's really cool is that you can download other midi drum tracks from different programs and then adjust them to fit your own songs. So if you are not great at increasing and decreasing the midi velocity levels, you may be able to find some pre mixed midis that work for your song. Really cool software.

Nice playing here, the Jem sounds just like a Jem should! To echo Brian's comments the drums are great - are you using addictive drums? Nice work!

Cheers, Jamie.

Thanks man. I'm using EZdrummer with the Drums From Hell expansion. I absolutely love that software. I would love to get my hands on their Superior Drummer software, but EZdrummer's DFH expansion is amazing.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm working on actually putting an ending on this song. I usually love to just cut out all sounds at the ends of songs. NOt sure why I like to do that. But I figure it's time I start adding real endings. I'm wanting to submit this one to the unoffical looperman mixtape that folks are putting together.

Thanks man. I really went insane when I found EZ Drummer. I've been looking for something like this for decades, short of an actual drummer.
