I had a go with this pella but you guys topped it. Really nice heavy guitars and I am so looking forward to the final result. This is very promising.

Really diggin this one, especially the cymbals im not sure why but they stuck out to me. I do however agree endtransmission about there needing to be a lead part, but still very awesome. I also happen to be a great lover of Metal and Hip hop and cannot wait to hear more from you dude!

Just edited my review/reply in your other track saying you probably won't like what I'm up to. But didn't realise you were doing Hip-Hop too. Cool man, some good elements and solid sounding drums. Maybe get one more synth or sound in there that cuts though a little more. Needs something in there that lifts up above the rest of the sounds. obviously a vocal will have that effect, but I mean on top of that too.

Nice man, Metal and Hip Hop, you're a man after my own heart fam.

Yes. I agree with you. I wrote most of this one using a couple of Korg Synths. I need to break them out and mess with them some more to see what I can come up with.

A long time ago I was close minded and only into metal. Then I had this really cool roommate who was into Hip Hop and Rap. I turned him on to metal and guitars and he got me listening to Hip Hop. It's cool when people open their minds and ears and realize that there's all kinds of great music out there they've been missing.

It's cool that you're into Hip Hop and Metal. If you're ever looking for some guitar or anyting that you would like on one of your recordings, let me know. I would enjoy working with you.

Thanks again for the review and advice.

Hey, A MASTERPIECE !
Really good melody, I feel you retain your energy playing this.
Why not introducing one or two times a cut rythm and playing as if you become an uncontrolled player, joking, distorting the sound of that guitar which is made for this.
I feel you can go up and produce at the limit of the jazz rock cutting the rythm, the melody ,introducing riffs, etc...

Here, it's a real good example of quality guitar playing.
Thank you for this, You have your own print, and a beautiful playing. I'll call the majors to contact you (joke!)

Looks like you got a Jackson too from the neck pattern in your pic. Is that you're usual ride?

I like this track man, some really good ideas, the switch for the chorus is heavy.....

Solo just kicked in. i take it you're a lead player then? Haha! I used to have a Les Paul back in the day, loved that thing.

Keep it up man, I'll be keeping an eye out for your stuff.

EDIT: That Jackson remark I made was bothering me, my second guess would have been another Ib. : )

Don't think you'll like what I'm up to now, but I used to be in Metal bands myself. I love Metal and have allot of respect for it. Pantera, Vulger Display of Power, and Cowboys from Hell are a couple of favs, used to play Battery by Metallica on my guitar every single day, what a riff. I could go on and on as it's all i listened to for years. Good stuff tho man, keep it up and will keep an eye out for more.

Hello end,
Nope, it's not a Jackson, but I wish I had one. My old guitar player from a band I played in back in the 90s used to play one and it was a great guitar. I just have my two Ibanez's. One is a cheap one that happens to play very well and the other is my expensive "flashy" Jem that I got back in the 90s. Yup I play both rythm and lead and I also enjoy playing keys and bass from time to time. I actually started out playing the piano when I was really little. Then when I was a teenager, I tried out to be the keyboardist for this rock band, and after the tryout, when I picked up one of the guitars a played a little, they told me, "you're in the band. And you're not a keyboardist; you are a guitarist!" Les Paul...that's another guitar I would love to have! Anyway, thanks for checking me out. I will check out some of you're tracks too. I hear you write some really cool stuff. Keep jammin!

Hello BrianMaiden, Your name is like my favorite 80s metal band. Love it! Thanks, I am glad you like the track. Dream theater and Iron Maiden are both my two favorite bands on the planet and I just missed them when they played together here in Arizona a few weeks ago. I could die for having missed the show. I hope you found some loops you could use. I will eventually get around to putting many more up here on the site. This is absolutely the best loops site in the entire world and it's a great community of musicians and artist to boot! Nice to meet you on here. Keep rockin!

Nice. If I understand right, you are not using any loops. Cool. The guitars sound really good together and the beat is nice and simple. Keep up the good work!
guitarjock
guitarjock replied Unknown
Hello SkullG, Yup the only loops I am using are the drum tracks. I sometimes mix in extra beats and sometimes I will "cut" or "warp" the drum loops to may them different and make them fit different parts of my songs. I just recently got Ableton Live and it makes changing the part of the loop you use very easy. Anyway, I am glad you like the track. I hope to put up many more in the near future. I will check some of your stuff as soon as I get the chance, hopefully somtime this weekend. Thanks again and keep rockin!

Nice work man. I don't typically listen to metal but this sounded nice. Rich guitar licks, nice drums, very nice melodies and everything just flows nicely. Not that I want to compare your work with other bands but definitely was up there with the likes of metallica in terms of how the melodies were put together. Keep it up.

Thanks Sein,
I used to spend hours playing Metallica songs back in the late 80s and early 90s. Then for some reason the band started to become annoying. But I was happy with their "Death Magnetic". Anyway, thanks for checking out my track. I would like to say to you, keep making those awesome loops and tunes. You have some really good stuff here on the site.

Did I understand your correctly, you did this in Albleton Live?
Nice work!!!!!
Good track too.
I liked the riff and the phrasing.
Will you be compiling your tracks onto an EP?
guitarjock
guitarjock replied Unknown
Hello Badflavor,
Yes. I used Ableton Live. It's a great recording program and runs very stably on my 5-year old computer. Thanks, I am glad you like the track. I would like to put them on an EP. I keep trying to write songs for vocals, but every time I try to record my vocals, they end up ruining the song. So I sould probably stick to instrumentals. I am planning on recording an instrumental EP though. I am just not sure how long it will be until I complete it. I would like to put at least 10 songs on it. So I have a little work to do. Anyway, thanks for the review. I will be checking out some of your tracks as soon as I get the chance to get back on here, hopefully this weekend.

Hey Guitarjock.
One of the better songs I've heard in the metal-genre in awhile. Really like the eerie/dark mood you've set for this one. The sologuitar is fabulous.
One can tell by your playing that you've been doing this for some time - very intriguing and fascinating progressions and combinations in this one. I really wish it was longer, although its over 4 and a half minute. Great job on this one. Oldschool metal > all.
An applaud is at its place. Outstanding.

And btw - hit me up if you're interested in making a tune together.

guitarjock replied Unknown
Thanks man. I am glad you like it. It's one of my favorites. I have been working on getting more into odd time signatures and some more jazzy-sounding metal like Dream Theater. I was finally able to write a song with an odd time signature called Deception. The basic parts of the song are complete, but I would like to add another part that maybe jams back and forth between guitars and keys. Check it out if you get a chance and let me know what you think. I am interested in working on a song with you. You write some really great sounding songs and you are one of my favorite musicians on the site. If we do get the chance to work on something together, it may take me a bit as I am busy as hell with work and trying to finish college before I retire from the USAF next year. But who am I kidding, I am hooked on recording and I am sure I will find the time. Let me know if your still interested and if you have anything in mind to work on already. Thanks again for the review.

I think this is a great little piece. With regard to the drums, you might try mixing a different drum track with the existing one. I've use the technique a few times and have enjoyed the result. Awesome piece, looking forward to more.

Thanks for checking it out. I am looking at a couple of different ideas on the drums. I hope to have some more time to work on some loops and tracks again soon. Right now work is going to keep me busier than ever for a while though. I hope to have some new stuff up by this next weekend though. Thanks for the review. I will check some of your tunes out.

This one has that 80's guitar instrumental sound with it - Vinnie Moore, Tony Macalpine, Greg Howe etc - you certainly have that genre down - nice work.
guitarjock
guitarjock replied Unknown
Thanks for checking it out. Yup, I tend to be eternally stuck in the 80s for the most part. I can't help but love that meoldic sound. I mostly had Dream Theater in mind when I wrote this and Rlativity. Somehow that band takes that 80s sound and yet makes it sound modern. I wish I could pull of the sounds like those guys. Thanks for the review.

I love this. It's fantastic. THOUGH!

One thing that did irk me a little is the drums. They don't seem to fit in too well with the rest of the song. Not the rhythm, or the variation for that matter. Everything else has a good amount of reverb on them, why not add a little to the drums to get the sound? :D

Still a fan--Chimpy.
guitarjock
guitarjock replied Unknown
I may give that a shot. I didn't really pay attention to that. What bites is I get so excited about uploading my songs when they are done. I know that I should sit on them for a day or two and check them out again before deciding if the mix has it or not. I need to start practicing that. Thanks for letting me know. I let you know when I get it fixed.

I do miss the old metal. It was fun. My favorite band is Dream Theater ever since about 1990. They have a little of that old metal sound mixed in with a modern progressive style. But Maiden is probably my all time favorite band. Love the dual harmonies they do on the guitars! Thanks for the review.

Thanks DJNoSleeves, I found some areas that need some tweeking, but I probably wont get around to fixing them until tomorrow or at least by no later than the end of the week. I will definitely want to check out what MrE was able to do with my guitar loops. It's a blast see what people do with. Really neat stuff. For me, it's really cool to hear people put my loops to hip hop. I always new I kind of liked hip hop, but I guess I really didn't know how much. Anyway, Thank you very much for the kind words and the review. I have to check out some of your tunes. I love techno. Just haven't written in in ages.

I agree. I usually create the beat with the vsti drums in Magix. They sound pretty realistic. I then add some parts of loops to make them sound very realistic. I definitely plan on going back and creating. Thanks for the advice. I will check out your newest beat.
