LOVE the title LOVE the layering , man i think you did this track justice an i done what you said listen to it on headphones but i think it sounds kinda the same on my monitors im not sure now cus you got me looking for it lol but mate keep up your gr8 work !!!! ima havta check some more of your tracks out !!!!!!!!!!
haha thanks man. I'm not sure anymore either. I just think it sounds "fuller" on headphones because I've panned a lot of sounds. Then again, perception can be a tricky thing. Big thanks for the kind review.
This is really...well how to put it...creative, imaginative, unique, catchy, creepy...etc Very different and amazingly composed. very unique stile and its like a show with sounds that takes you somewhere and paints a picture.
great job!
I'm going to answer that rhetorical question to amuse myself and say it's a song. I've never heard of The Tuss and actually had no idea it was an artist[s] and not a thing you were referring to before I googled it. Thanks a lot for the listen and for possibly introducing me to a new artist that I may like.
this was unique, a special track really. if intuition every calls on you to take this one further dont ignore it if it knocks. special tracks for myself always have a doorway that can lead you to mystical magical places creatively. every so often that doorway swings open as a creative process begins to blossom and artists can trick themselves to believe that the flow of there creative energys should always come by in such manner. most magic doors unlock when the time is right and intuition is the locksmith that will hand you a key when the time is right. its taken many years to go by before ive finished certain things and its not for lack of interest or inspiration ive also finished things that where just as unique in a couple of weekends. anyhow....this track is special i think and maybe it could call you back to it to release some more magic, my gut felt a door here to explore when the time is right. im adding to my fav's...............!1X1!.......
Wow, I completely missed this excellent review when replying to the other ones you posted. I find your views about exploring this further interesting, but to be honest, I hadn't really thought in those terms for this one, until you made a very convincing case to do so.
I've taken a while to finish certain songs as well [there are tons that are lying in my harddrive waiting to be finished], but this was one of those that came about very quickly. I really appreciate the listen and your advice. I'm obviously not gonna force myself to work on this further, which I'm sure you understand, but I will keep an open mind about it [which is something I usually don't do - Usually with me, once a track is done, it's done].
nice journey this one very clean mix too. i might like to have a crack at trying some brian eno type fx and ambient treatments around this if that would be on the o.k. by you. this is very much like CEPHLON he is a good friend of mine and we all share our work at GODLIKE.COM.AU he has no looperman profile as of yet. you can also find LD120 tracks from myself and LD. here at looperman tho. i would say this sound you have going on as thom yorke makes music after too many valiums or something lol great work keep em flowing..........!1X1!....
Thanks for the kind words man. Glad you dig the sound. "Thom Yorke after too many valiums" - nice. And yeah, you're free to do whatever you want with this. Just gimme a shout [or send a message, practically speaking] when you're done with it because I'd like to hear your version. I'll definitely be checking out your friends' and your music. Thanks again.
yes very smooth one! love it nice style man you make great music my friend like too hear more from you! keep it up seeya man!
Some chilled one from me too:
Thanks a lot Ioka. Appreciate the encouragement. And I'll check out your tunes, even though it appears the link you've given has disappeared. Unless you usually end sentences with : , which I doubt.
Thanks man. As to your question, I wish my answer was something deep along the lines of "it's a metaphor for a society in decay", but I'd be lying. The real answer is my friend was talking to me about a brand of watches called Fossil, and I interrupted to ask her what I should name my song. She said "Fossil". I thought it was good [better than "Undercurrent" which was what I was gonna call it], so I did.
man this is really beautiful. very ambeint jazz. really likeing the drums n bass. i love that strollin beat. very chillax and refreshing. id love to have a 320 mp3 for my collection, if its possible.
quality stuff friend.
love the noisy sounds combined with the harmonic atmo at the beginning awesome noise drumset love to use machine and noise sounds for the drumset, too nice work really mental
:)
Go to yer "My account" at the very top.
Then, after doing that look for the second tier of white shaded tabs.. Their should be "Edit Profile"
Click on that, and in the middle there, is the "My Email:_____"
You could change it to yer prefered... altho, some people don't like looperman spam, some people revel in it.
Beautiful...
I really like how you typically allow things to morph in and out of each other.
It's something I really strive for in my music. Not necessarily being stuck to the DAW's internal time clock, or the ebb and flow of pragmatic beat fractions.
Hey?
Checkity check yer e-mail?
I remixed yer Grasshopper song lol... And by remix, I mean messed it up and failed at my vision lol...
Thanks for the listen and the thoughtful review. Really appreciate it and I think you get what I'm going for, so that's always good.
Alright, pardon my ignorance, but where the hell is my mailbox on this site? I really wanna hear what you've done to the Grasshopper, but I can't locate my inbox on this site (never looked for it before).
You have quite the ear for music.
I really really enjoy EVERY single one of your pieces of art.
Like what n0mad23 always mentions to me,... I can just get this vibe you are jacked into the spirit of the thing.
Whatever music is..
The muse.
...
I am thinking either it's loops or magix or something?
Fantastic arrangement.
:)
Chills.
If anyone can do that to me.
I am happy.
Thanks a lot alividlife. Unfortunately I cannot play. At all. This is all the work of a machine (fl 9), but it's pretty great to be able to inject humanity into it isn't it? (though I do love music that could be described as "cold" as well) I'm glad you enjoyed this.
Well as long as you don't get it drunk and take advantage of it, I'm cool. Cheers for the hilarious review. Also I think you're gonna like some of the new stuff I've been working on. It's in the same vein as some of these sketches.
Wow.
I have absolutely no idea why.. but this instantly gave me the same vibe of Prefuse73's Reads The Book EP. Which is the 1.618th greatest album ever produced.
SO ...
Holy crap.
...
I am going to download this and study it's habits.
Faved.
And holy crap, I f*cking love Prefuse 73, so that's definitely the best compliment I could ever hope to receive. So thanks for that. I actually hadn't yet heard The Book EP when I made this, but I've been catching up with his entire discography recently and absolutely loving it. One Word Extinguisher and Reads the Books are both brilliant.
Big thumbs up for experimentation and being a bit different. I was'nt sure about the track to start off but as the different elements came in it all worked in a strange way and turned into a nice little groove.
Cheers for the listen and the review. I've been trying to mix the slightly expiermental sounds with ones that are more familiar, and sometimes they work together and sometimes they don't.
Nice. Thats some crazy work with the guitar piece, i like it. Broken drums sounding great when you start gating the sample.
Im wondering if a bassline might make it smoother on the gate, just simple one strums, and then maybe take it up to a chug, faster as it comes back in.
But then that might not be the way you are thinking.
Thanks man. I think I know what you mean about adding a bassline. What I've done is gate the bassline as well to go along with the gated guitar sample. I'm gonna look into what you've suggested because I see where you're coming from. Thanks for the suggestion and the review.
Thanks man. I thought you'd disappeared for a while, but now I realize you just changed your avatar. Gonna check up on your tunes in a bit. Hope you got some new stuff there.
i followed up after scetches 5 and 6 and your tracks are awesome. this one is good too, great chilled out sound you seem to be able to do it nicely, i'll check out more of your tracks when i've got time. good stuff. nice production.
Wow, I don't know how I missed this review. Been away from this site for a while, but I thought I'd replied to everything. Sorry for that. And thanks for the listen and review. I remember liking the few tunes of yours I heard, so I'm gonna check em out right now.
