I like this one too. Cool groove and, in the first half, some of those chopped up loops are great fun. The gentle keyboard lines are wonderful and I like the lead brassy part too. Again, the main thing letting it down is the drums and the lack of variation. I can tell you're only using loops so would recommend you get more into programming actual hypersampled kits, which you can add in alongside and blend with your drum loops.
I'm looking to get something better myself (eg BFD) but I just use the hypersampled Reason Drumkits pack in Reason, which gives you quite a few excellent kits, with a fair bit of control over all elements. Then you can download MIDI drum patterns from various places eg Groovee Monkee and then just spend ages and ages programming your own intricate patterns and fills. Then copy those patterns between song files as there's no point letting good work go to waste when it can be recycled over and over again. That's mostly how I do it.
My 'Untitled Ethereal Daisy Jazz Funk' track you so liked just used two of those Reason Drumkits instruments, no other dum loops and I just used and modified drum programming I'd done over the years and moed notes about to suit the new track. If you do this, you'll build up your own arsenal of cool drum parts, which you can then be played by any hypersampled drumkit in your arsenal. Ask me if you want to know more.
P.S. Please to my other tracks and review them if you like them (or say what you like if you really don't like them or find them boring - I'm happy to hear any opinion at all, the more detailed the better).
Thanks mate but i'm not actually using any drum loops and everything that has been sampled has been chopped up quite a bit, But I defo know what you mean with my drums, They have few changs and to be honest its because I need to learn how to write in better drums,
Thanks for your comments and advice, Going trty switching up my drums on my next few beats
Thanks for reviewing and liking my jazz/funk track. In return, I thought I'd check out what you recommended. This one's really good - just needs more added to it eg vocals as it's a great groove and I love that main keyboard part and its subtle variations. The lead brassy sound is also a good part and good sound too. Need to beef up and vary the drums but keep working on it as it could be excellent. It doesn't have to have vocals - if you've got the skills this could be very good if you just keep adding new parts and loops and changes. Instrumental chillout acid jazzhop or something like that. I shall listen to more right now...
I could hear this ones in CafÃÂs,lounges,Dj's could also do their scratchmanship on it :) Smooth vibe; i like jazz like women - nice!! keep me updated
Lol, it reminds me of kanye a lot. This is badass tho man! Its real chill:) If you enjoy dubstep check out mine. My hip hops not as cool as yours tho. I could imagine someone just free styling over the whole thing. Just make this longer:)
