Hello Chris, yes, the track has arrived. But it will be quite a while before we can take care of it. There is too much to do at the moment. We're going on a short tour, there's still a lot to prepare. Kind regards, Manuela
Hello Chris,
I sent you a link via LM's messaging system. You can upload the wav file there. Take a look at your email address that you entered here. If you can't find anything, please also check the spam folder.
Best regards
Manuela
Yes, I like that a lot better! If you now adjust the volume even better, adjust the frequencies a little and maybe add a little bit of room reverb, but really only very carefully and minimally, then it will be even better. Is the flute recorded on one track or two tracks? I mean, did you record it with just one microphone or several so that you could highlight the sound box a little more? If you want, I'll send you an upload link and we'll try to work on it in the studio?
Best regards
Manuela
Great! For the flute I used only the microphone in the iPad so no stereo effect on the raw track. If you send a link I will send you a WAV file of the flute track. Thank you for following up. I always appreciate generous offers like this one.
Hello Chris,
It's nice that you made the effort to accompany the piano solo with a great flute inspiration. Personally, I don't really like this absolute right-left separation in the mix. But if you would like, please send us the flute track and we will try to work it up and integrate it at the next opportunity in the studio?
If so, please contact us using the LM “Contact me” function in our profile. Please send us your email address there.
I will then send you a link where you can upload the flute track as a wave file.
Don't worry, it's absolutely free and non-binding for you. We do this “Just for fun” for LM colleagues.
Kind regards, Manuela
Your advice is so helpful! I understand completely about the stereo. To start, I’ve posted a new version of the flute and piano track created in WAV and converted to mp3. I’ve separated the two tracks using what my processor calls stereo spacialization, with an overlap of 40%. Please check it out and if you want I’ll send the WAV. I’d be very happy to have an expert mix. Thanks!
Yep - nice old school blues rock number - by chance i was listening to very old jethro tull just the other day - full points for composition and playing but Id say this flute is a just little lack lustre and as noted by others overall the mix/production sound doesn't do this great music justice.
Hello, great old blues, like from the textbook! However, he has a few weaknesses in the mix. The individual instruments on their own are well played. You should have just given the instruments a little more space on the soundstage. But whatever, good idea, even with the flute as a vocal replacement. If you would invest a little more work in the mix and master, then this song would be really great!
Kind regards, Manuela
Yes, I get many comments about this issue. I learned how to produce music by posting here. Sound projection and separation are my weak points. I’m always learning so I expect better results in the future! Thanks for listening and commenting.
This quite refreshingly beautiful! I am not a huge fan of the flute, but I love it here. My only wish is that the guitar would be brought more upfront. Well, done!
You may take the melody and play it with any solo instrument that sounds good. Tell me if you need a WAV or if the mp3 is sufficient. Just include "Utah Chris" in the credit. Thanks!
