This is a good song! :D I like the guitars, ohhhh they speak to me! Love the mixing. The drums feel a bit MIDI-ish at parts, is that a plugin or something? Idk, some parts just feel a bit mechanical to me with the drum hits :) That vocal sounds killer though!
The drums are programmed using various virtual drum software. The band provided a nice detailed description of what was used for the song, I'll probably include that as well.
I listened to the mixing example you posted previously - so this one is just an another (much louder this time) type of modern radio style. Sounds heavier and guitar are much more distorted this time right from the start definitely.
Sounds absolutely perfect on my headphones. Good dynamic mental changes too (I mean regarding to the actual structure of the song).
By turning up the volume as possible as I can on my headphone system I can hear just guitars and drums remaining mainly. No bass or anything interesting in the high freq spectrum. Vocal (for example) sounds weak and it is really overwhelmed by all the rest at 1:10. The overall vocal atmosphere gets somehow warmer along the guitar (2:32) illuminated by some nice guitar touch I guess.
Overall very plastic sound indeed. Yes, I can hear the strings (from around 2:40) with automated build-up. To me this exapmle sounds very much like a radio Pop not Rock at all.
Plastic sounding is actually a very good description of the actual sound in the industry :))
As for the genre..don't really care. It pays the bills so let me have it.
The song is nowhere near mixed, is just a preview with a few fixes here and there. I must correct the description, I've used the wrong phrasing and didn't realise it.
This is an awesome track! But at some parts the vocal gets a bit drowned out by the music, at least from what I'm hearing. But dang, that mix is fire regardless. So huge, so in-your-face.
Figured i'd stop by as you helped me out in the forums.
I see you're still doing your one track at a time on the profile malarkey.
R&B isn't really my thing (it's too smoochy) but that said it sounds very professional and definitely worthy of radio play.
Really, really smooth production and i'm sure the ladies will love this one.
Good to see your still sharing your outstanding productions.

Mahloo...what you consider unfinished most of us would be happy to consider an achievement....The song, accompaniment and production are really well done...even if I have to confess that my ears are considerably less than they used to be...besides I eally like the laid-back styling so really enjoyed the listen...a well done to both of you....Ed
Thank you Ed! I really appreciate it! We did have a lot of plans with this track but we never go around to re-record the vocals so the project kinda started collecting dust.
There is nothing wrong with your ears and your music speaks for that.
Ah man... now you've gone and made me sleepy it's so relaxing.. I still have an entire night shift to do lol.
Glad to hear some production work from you even if it's 5 years old. I've always been curious to see that side of you. I still think you should do more though ;)
Anyway hope you're doing well mate, we should catch up soon :)
Hey what's up man? How are things going over there?
Thanks for the comment and I hope the track didn't get you fired! Lol! I hardly have time to do anything music related nowadays but things should slow down.
Malu, you have a wonderful touch.
A lot of your musical choices are not "obvious" and I learn a lot every time I listen to one of your productions, regardless the genre.
Respect man.
