FerryTerry is such a great musician! This has a cool vibe, a bit of an island feel to it, maybe the percussion making it feel that way to me. It's a bit blended in with some more modern electronic synths that def add to the contemporary feel to the song. Very cool track!

Yeah, I used some of his loops before and they're always of great quality, also recording wise.

Thanks for listening and the nice compliment Wayne! Much appreciated.

Professional music, vocs and mix...amazing track...I wanna learn the mix from you man...I imagine a live soft bass under it, would be nice...only an idea...
Congrats, Danke

Danke danke! I have not tried the soft bass yet. Will do so in the weekend. About the mix, I am no professional by any means, just try to use my ears :-). Thanks for the big compliment though!

This is exactly the type of rhymes i used to do way back.. real Jazzy, real fun to listen too.. Maby harsh to say, but id drop the vocals and go all instrumental with this one. The music itself tells a whole story..

Anyhoo.. Effin brilliant.. :) ///Dec

Hi Dec,

Thanks a lot for your comment en your compliments. I just tried the track without the vocals, but somehow it's getting too empty then.

I love the sounds you have created and the spacial mixing is awesome, I do agree the intro is a bit long. This is clearly a futuristic jazz vision. great work

DrvanLansberg replied 7th Oct 2013 - 11 years ago
That might just be a little too much honor. I just like producing jazzy stuff, no vision here :-). Like decorating a house, just choose the items you like.

Thanks for the compliments!

Very nice- nice vibe- drums are very well handled. I think the intro is too long. The part with the vocals is very tight with good sax bridge. All in all a well produced cut.
DrvanLansberg
DrvanLansberg replied 7th Oct 2013 - 11 years ago
Thanks for your comments and compliments Clindsay. I had some doubts on the ontro too, but decided it was just an instrumental part in stead of an intro. And it worked out fine with me :-).

on Some Freedom Feat Paulkeus and Janis71 by DrvanLansberg
I love this instrumental and Paulkeus match it so magically .
Beside "love", is there a more beautiful word than "freedom"? ...
Your track freed my mind, infusing peace in it .
Thx a lot for sharing,

Shamoozey's voice sounds at home here. JJWeekz' vocals sound Jill Scott flavor-ish, not out of place at all.

The muzic is very well put together ear candy, good sounds and very relaxing.

Good job on this.

DrvanLansberg replied 17th Jun 2013 - 11 years ago
Yeah! I really wouldn't know what to do without you vocalists! I am sure that a lot of producers (or just hobby music freeks, like me) would not be able to put their tracks together without vocals of any kind.

Thanks for your compliments. Means a lot coming from you.

Wow this is so cool! I always dread posting rap because usually it is not mixed very well with music (not to be mean to others, but it's just an observation). You mixed this very well, Shamoozey sounds awesome too, and of course the music is befitting and has a happy feel to it

Beautiful chilled music!

Superb choice of instruments make this a real joy to just chillout to!

Very very nice work!

You've captured the sun in this little beauty!

DrvanLansberg replied 3rd May 2013 - 11 years ago
Thanks again Billy for your faithful presence :-). And of course for your nice comment. But a huge part of the quality of the track is depending on the loops and vocal samples I've used.

Capture the sun... Hhmmm, that might be a nice title for a new track. Thanks for that!

Thanks man! Much appreciated.

Tried to look up "fooking", but weren't able to find it anywhere :-). Again, like in many other of my tracks, it;s the loops and vocals from LM that make the distinction...

Hi Dan,

You're quite well informed :-).

Thanks for listening again. It was however not really a colab, just used the vocals and loops withour asking. I'm pretty sure they don't mind :-).

Doc, this is really, really well done. If this is your first foray into down-tempo, and the result is this good, perhaps you should consider doing more :)

There is nothing to critique here, simply an amazing soundscape that blends the wonderful sax of Slap Johnson and the spoken words of Obama, with these wonderful synth sounds you created. Flawless!!

A big 10 out of 10 on this one. Beautiful work.

Hi Bear,

Many, many thanks for your beautiful comments. I am not sure however if I will be doning more stuff on 88 bpm :-).

You know, sometimes everything just falls in the right place. That's at least what I experienced producing this track. And of course with help of Slap, Obama and the synths :-).

I will print your comment and hang it over my bed!

well, I am not a friend of politics so I ignore the samples.

Away from those: That track 's smooth, the beginning reminds me a bit on a video game were ya walk through' some kind of (magical) cave. Later it is a really chilled track... also gotta love that distant sax.

thumbs up for shure...

so far~
DrvanLansberg
DrvanLansberg replied 25th Nov 2012 - 12 years ago
Thanks for your feedback Ishimizu!

It was never my intention to make a political statement and of course I do not want to offend anyone with this track. For me it was just fascinating to see how some people are able to gave a speech that so many other are inspired by.

Haha, I understand your video game comment and take it is a big compliment :-). The sax I have to thank Slap Johnson for. Listen to his samples if you have the time (and if you have not done so so far).

Thanks for the thumbs up! It is appreciated.
