Gah! Awesome slap!
You are so insanely talented, i just want you to know that.
You are very lucky. But your not really lucky, because you learned and you took the time and now you are a FUNK GOD!
I hope one day, as i keep playing piano/drums, i reach your talent level.
This is just insane man.
Deff faved and im going to check out your other stuff.
Stroke of genius!
Wow, this a great track! I find myself drawn to the drum beats especially, and those filter sweeps sound great! Excellent playing on every instrument here! I can't pick out anything that I would change in the mix! Great work! Best of luck with your release!
Awesome track Slap, luv that groove, all the elements fit perfectly in this track! Great sax, guitar,... awesome drums ... Excellent Excellent track! I really enjoyed!
Man, this track is crazy. I love everything about this. You have a great voice and I love the sax. It has a melody that everyone could dance and sing to as well. Very cool sax. Great job on the track my friend. Keep up the great work.
Hey Steve....Jeez man,is anyone in your family bereft of musical ability?..fat chance!lol..This is so on another level since I first heard it,Fiona as they say is the icing on the cake to a superb track.....I love the guitar work especially at play here but there's no doubt the added sensitivity Fiona brings with her vocals puts this track probably as "the single" on the album..do they still do that?..pick a track for 'single' designation...I think I'll only be able to decide when I get the CD and play the whole album start to finish, which will be great!(5 copies would be maximo appreciato compardre)..cheers Dave :)
Crazy man!...You've got a great set of pipes, and this is my only criticism of this super track..Bring the vocals forward in the mix!lol..people always tend to back off with their own voice levels(strange but true)...seriously fantastic track buddy,Baritone Sax is one of my fav sounds and when it's incorporated into your trade mark horn section it blows me away...bass line is wicked!...ahh the WahWah pedal..do you realize I'm a certified WahWah repair man (in my own lunch box that is)lol..give the modulation pot a good squirt of crc,rp7 or whatever brand penetrating spray into it's innards with the extension tube and the thing will be like new.....nuff said...super FunkoRhythmic vibes!!..cheers Dave
Hi Dave, just in the process of getting quotes for 1'000 copies of this album to be pressed. I have loaned a pair of Yamaha HS50M flat response monitors to try and get the best mix I can... We need to tweak one or two solos as Alexander's not happy with a couple of notes here and there ( That's perfectionists for you )! I change the vocals on be with you Dave, it might be worth your while having a listen as it now features Fiona. She has brought a wonderful sensitivity to the track.
I'm hoping to get the whole thing finished by the first week in July ( pressed and packaged ). How many copies would you like me to send?
Cheers, Slap...
Great work Slap...and i think this is the first time I have heard your vocals so big props for that.....very funky sound and perfect production.....I am sure the CD will do well
Faved,
Trax
Nice track! I was thinking it could be nice to end with the intro again, just an idea.
Love the organ and ofcourse the saxes but that goes without saying, the pianosound could be a bit stronger, not especially louder but it could use a bit more body in the chords part.
Hey Slap! I love this song, I did not know you could sing like that, really good!
Everything is great only thing I dont like are the bass and the drums, it sounds so "white" if you know what I mean, the bass part should be played by brasses not by a bassguitar in my opinion, it is a nice part but not for a basguitar, and than some parts not all the time ofcourse. Bas and drums really need a lot more attitude, why dont you try a good bassplayer see what he makes of it, there is a great basplayer on Looperman, Badhuman!
But again very very nice song, great brasses and great vocals, thumbs up.
Paul.
Hi Paul,
I know what you mean by sounding too white lol... If this cd does well and we can fund another I would like your help in the process as I value your opinion and production skills. Again time is not on my side so the bass will have to remain the same this time. Just about to move house and this baby needs to go and get pressed next week in time for the Festival in August...
Grate begining...hey,,,voice is more than good...very nice breaking, than sax again...horn....
This is more than good track..!!!!
I love it..!!!

Now this is my kind of funk! That wah guitar is super cool! Great bass playing! Those horns are smooth! I can't fault the mix in any way, it sounds perfect! Best of luck on the CD release!
Really promising, and good the son to his father .... You should be proud of this result.
Yes! I know, it's a bit trite, but that kind of comment is a way like another to congratulate this symbiosis, existing here, between a father and son .... Excellent as usual and fabulous moment.
Let the boy do it!...is that the vocal stab I can hear?..if so that needs to be the title of this track!lol (apropos of Alexander's presence)...Man(men)what a lyrical funk feast this is....you know after I listen to one of your tracks the next day or something,I'll be walking along or whatever and suddenly one of your riff's will go dah, dah, dah, dahdeli, dah in my head!..this is so much better than having an ABBA chorus loop in your brain endlessly like what used to happen in the 70's!...no doubt scientists have a perfectly rational explanation for this phenomenom...the music sounds like a drop of mercury sliding around a plate, people will love it....super musicianship!...ahhh the formative years of brilliance come to mind! lol...cheers Dave :)
Thank you for this premiere, and honestly if I can buy this CD, I would with great pleasure, because what I've heard so far, and really good sound quality .... You are an accomplished musician, who has surrounded himself with talented people. Good luck with your project ....
