This track has some real potential to be something amazing. A few things here:
1.) The main synth doesn't need all that muffling every time it plays, if you can help it. Once it's build up, it's at it's most powerful. If you muffle it, it's like stealing a puppy from an orphan. Leaves the listener with that needed finishing moment when a track is at it's most epic.
2.) Strings are incredible instruments. Their best use is when they are layered in chords atop one another. The cello makes a wonderful bass, but at the same time it seems a little lonely by itself. I think some strings in the higher and mid registers could prove useful to this track.
Other than those, I see nothing really wrong with what you have here. Well done. :D
What I most enjoy is that you did it all of yourself, which I regret saying what was said in the last review that I did. o_o;
You've done a great job with the sound of this track, got the chorus down pat, all I can really suggest is to add some more automation in the synths. This is the most difficult part of a track unless you have the physical hardware to manipulate the instrument yourself, so I wouldn't worry too much about it for now. You've done a great job, be proud.
I think this track has a pretty cool sound to it, though the use of loops is apparent. I know it's a tad redundant to say something like that on LOOPerman, but I find that loops are a great place to start, but not to spend too much time on. You use mixcraft, correct? Mixcraft also has a midi keyboard option, which lets you set notes on different instruments. I don't know how exactly you make music, so I don't want to patronize you on your own style.
What I truly enjoy about your music is that it's the same sort of stuff that I go for: Energetic Orchestral with a mix of techno and/or metal. You do a good job, just needs a bit of work. :}
I would have considered this a little bit more than any ambient song I've ever heard. :}
If I were to offer any suggestions, my main one would to be change up the key for the kalimba or marimba or whatever the hell it is. (Ha) Just to add in some more emotion; because that's what a track like this is. When you vary up keys and notes you get much better progression and feedback from the listener which is almost entrancing when done right. They start focusing in on your track, and then keep listening for more.
Either way, you've done a great job in setting the mood here, I would keep at it and add more.
Nice flow!!!got a good tone quality to it. my small suggestion put a break in the song with a little variation then come back with that smooth sound you have.
Nice work. Love the melodic again as with you other track. Made me smile and think about my childhood. Thanks very much Plur!, I'd love to do a track with you sometime.
A collab would be pretty neat :3
I JUST posted another instrumental called Comets & Stars =]
Still following my signature Orchestral/Electronica style,
it's my fave track i've dropped so far ^_^
I do hope you like it as well =]
Although you say your vocals sound crap I don't think they sound that bad. Just like you got a sore throat LOL no but they sound edited somehow. I luv the melody of this, like me and mi mates are goin on holiday and its really something we've been looking forward to. In conclusion, nice, upbeat and different. Would like to hear the finished version.
Regards and all!
Interesting.....haha. I started playing it then was waiting for some vocals to happen but after 3 minutes and 24 seconds I came to realize that this was just an instrumental....haha...sounds really good though. Keep up the good work. Happy holidays. Peace!!
