Hey, thanks for the offer of the patch but I don't have Massive. I hear great things about it, know it's very popular and I'm sure I'd get on well with it. But I'm not planning to get it anytime soon.
Almost all my synths come from Reason and I'm quite happy with that. Very flexible and great fun. And now it's been opened up with something called Rack Extensions so 3rd party developers are making all sorts of devices for it. So, lots of new synths etc available for it.
I shall survive without that cool synth patch!
I shall endeavour to check out more of your stuff, including on Soundcloud. I have a page there too, to which I upload some of my tracks that don't fit on here (ie the ones over 10 mins, which is quite a few).
Hey, no problem man. But if I was being totally honest, I would comment on tracks I don't like pointing out why I don't like them. But then I could spend a lot of time writing stuff that might well make someone feel bad and get me a whole load of abuse.
No one wants to be told what they've done is no good from someone they don't know and can't see.
Back to your track and I don't think this is trance. Some other sort of electronic genre (obviously) though I don't know the name. Doesn't really matter though does it? I make stuff that I believe, and other people agree, is pretty much unclassifiable so I always struggle with genre selection on here. Most stuff just goes in 'fusion', that name which kind of tells you nothing except that more than one genre is going to be mixed somehow.
Regarding the synth patch: I'd quite like it though am hardly desperate as I have shitloads of synth sounds to go through and use. Loads I haven't even tried. But the main problem is what that patch you have loads into (you didn't say). I'm primarily a Reason user. If it's a Reason patch, I certainly would be interested.
Again, good work that would appeal to people on a dancefloor as well as in some sort of soundtrack/computer game. Or a good song could be made out of it.
This patch loads into massive, which i use in almost every song. And also, if you wanna check out my soundcloud, thatd be cool too. Its not too different from the tracks i have on here. Except one song called "The Chant". I also have my own personal other soundcloud that has a few mixes and remixes and old original tracks when i first got into producing.
I have listened to a few of your tracks in the past but didn't like them much so didn't comment (don't think I had any particularly constructive criticism).
But I do like this, hence the comment.
Nice take off of the track on 1:09. Fun sounds, especially that lead, that I'd like to use (I don't mean sample your composition, I mean have and use the synth patch).
Great movement on 2:03. Nice half time drop that I also love to do. Provides nice variety.
Must say I don't really hear the disharmony mentioned in one comment. It all sounds very melodic to me and very cool. That lead synth reminds me of some sort of hero computer game music. Maybe the hero driving fast in some vehicle. or flying across planets! Why not - it's a computer game.
One suggestion for that lovely synth sound you have in the chillout sections: I didn't notice it first time around but without the drums (ie 4:20) I think you should increase the attack very slightly of the synth as I'm sure it's on 0.
That would soften the initial phase of the note and make it slightly less clangy. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, please ask as this is a very useful thing to do with synth sounds. I find myself doing it quite a lot. Or greatly increase the attack of anything and make it more pad-like (so the sound fades in slowly).
Working the ADSR controls on a drum loop can be great too.
Very good work, no doubt fun to make and surely one of your greatest.
Thank you so much for being honest. All i can say is that every track i put out i make sure its better than the last. And I have the patch for this synth, if youd like to use it. Just email me aaron_rigg2002@yahoo.com
Even though I think it sounds a bit disharmonic overall I still think you did great on mixing and EQing the thing together. I don't like the disharmonic aspect but that's taste so others might like it though ;) But it sounds unique so goodjob on that
This is very cool! Sounds like the sort of track I like to do vocals for! Definitely a unique style! I like the portamento synth lead very much! Good work!
1. superb mix and production
2. Not Trance. sort of an electro hybrid.
3. interesting use of atonality in the first 2:25, then it gets into tonal qualities of Dm, then back to the atonality.
4. in the second part of tonality, I would love to hear a ripping synth or guitar solo.
5. nice work
Hi again... i think it's a mix of different styles. I thinkt a mix of dance / techno whatever.
But more important... working on the music, the disharmonies are pretty much... Sorry that I am so directly. ;)
Nice song.
I love the intro.
This reminds me of one shortfilm (I can't remember the title).
I wonder how you can make those sounds. I really want to learn how to. :)
Well, great job! :D
Hey man, Killer track. love the synths and VERY clean sounding. Just wanted to say I don't hold grudges. All is good in my neighborhood. Keep putting out the good ish. Maybe we can throwdown on a track sometime.
Thank you man. All is good my way as well. Ill really dig your track "New Jack Swag". Sounds sweet. Im currently working on another track and its coming along great. If you want, send me some samples to aaron_rigg2002@yahoo.com, or i can use one of your Pellas. If i use anything from you ill notify you instantly and ill put "Feat. ShowGun" in the title. I dont sell any of my music whatsoever. And same way other way around, i can send you some stuff. Just hit me up.
