11 plays 11 comments and 16 downloads - a strange combination indeed. This is great track - if u are ever interested in collaborating on some dubs/reggae I would like to work with you on something
i like it. peaceful, calm rhythm sweet. I like the backwards elements. I think they give a different tone to music when used properly -as here. The earliest I know of backwards music added to give tonal qualities is Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix. One of the worst things (perhaps the worst) is ppl offering negative opinions when not asked for. If someone says something like "what do u think? How can i improve this?" then may be ppl can suggest but otherwise ppl usually post stuff they have listened to often and like - whether others do or not. There's an old saying 'if u havent got anything nice to say then dont say anything' seems to not apply on the internet. Anyway great track that will really suit someone with the right vocal qualities i feel.
nice, what DAW did u get? i agree with the other comments. personally i think that high pitch percussion is a touch high - perhaps eq that. Is that a crackle i hear at the end? on purpose? if not sometimes it means Ive reverb on too many tracks for my laptop to handle. A trick is to disable the fx etc while recording that track that is crackling, this takes a bit of pressure of the pc while the track is recorded clean. I like this kind of music but its not my first choice so this next suggestion is from a naive perspective. I think it needs something analogue or something added. Perhaps an acapella from here or a live instrument. If u would like some improvised guitar over it, message me via my profile and I can lay something over this - it has a sound that inspires me.
That crackle is the soft vinyl fx that is present during the whole track, but noticable in the intro.
I recently learned about having to many effects open at the same time, it totally screwed up something I was working on. My DAW (Cockos Reaper) crashes everytime I push the play button, so I am gonna start from scratch again as I cannot find the trigger.
I will sent you an email later today, I would love to hear about your inspirations :)
a really great track. very real. not that ive heard thousands at Looperman but definitely one of if not the best. i was not going to critique but if your going to fade out the end I think at little more gradual. like someone said already a hit song here - only takes one
I agree - I don't think there is much wrong with the drums either!! I just wanted to create a drum track with a little interest rather than sticking to a four in the bar hi hat. I don't think it interferes with the vocal at all.
Glad you liked the music and thanks for stopping by and listening. It's much appreciated.
i sell a small amount of cinematic music and I think u are on a winner here - well done, it is an interesting arrangement. If u are seriously after constructive criticism then I will offer this (just my opinion) the sound that enters around 0:57, i think it is a violin vst (?) and I wish I could afford those hugely expensive violin vsts - i think needs a reverb or compression or something. To say it sounds harsh is not correct but there is something that is...um..sounds cheap is not correct either. Perhaps i should say nothing. Any way love your use of percussion (introduced around 0:35), fantastic, subtle and yet with purpose.
Im serious! Thanks a lot for your constructive criticism, I did the change and more. I will upload the new version after this reply. if would be kind if you tell me if the new version is better.
every one has probably said what i would say. Haul of the One........One. Also i really like the flute. If you have'nt seen the documentary
