This is really and easy to listen to. I would like to hear a little more beef on the drums, they sound a little thin and distorted on my system. There's room for some deep basses to fill out the mix I think. Great track!
wooord, def something more pleasant on the ears. I appreciate the feedback! i might've edited this track like 20 times after I uploaded it to LM. The final mix is on my soundcloud.com/beatstoeat/call-on-me
This is cool. I like to hear the mechanical sounds behind the keys. Is this an acoustic or a rompler? Maybe a mic'd amp from a nice e-piano? My inner engineer is curious. Good job on it. Tasteful recording.
I wasn't keeping count of how many tracks you release per month, so thanks for including that valuable info. ;)
-This track is good. I like the lyrical development later in the track more than in the beginning. The beginning is more ad lib and less focused to my ears. I think it might be cool if you put some backing vocs or some hype samples to animate the vocal energy in some parts. The old school vibe is authentic and flows. You and Trillbeats are a good mix artistically :D
i've actually only started specifically dropping tracks on the 1st and 15th in December, and so on.

but facts, i appreciate your feedback virginia thank you a lot! i see what you mean, i kinda just started rappin how i do , and then built a lil story out of it towards the end
i hear that
stay tuned my man!!! not sure if ill keep the 2 weeks thing up or drop whenever, tryna get my style on this tape down so anything not fitting will be pushed a side and uploaded in mean time
Sounds great. I would suggest to marry the kick and the bass line on this track with a sub mix to a NY compression chain. This will make them sound full and more glued together since the track has such nice rhythm and the bassline is also cool(I'm another bass player).
"I should really use my room where I have active monitors." -yes, in nearfield to hear the "third" center mono in the center of your head. The relationship between kick and bass will be audible there. The headphones are great for sound design though, and you did very well with this track. :D
PS. If you are very new and have decent monitoring, probably a good idea to read about monitor setups, room treatments and calibration to get the most bang for your buck.
Just needs some eq tweak bc the compression is hyping the high mids which will cause ear fatigue. Overall I think it's really good. It's the kind of eq problems I have when I spend too much time in one long session. Maybe the vocals could be just a tiny bit louder or sidechained in the mix for some extra clarity. I enjoy the distortion in the kicks and the pumping. Daf.
This is very cool. Lots of fun sounds that work together. I agree with the vocal mix maybe being too low, or perhaps benefiting from an exciter to wake it up in the mix. lately I sidechain and duck my instrumental bus by .5 to 2 decibels and I'm often surprised by how much I can duck it to make space without making it obvious. You both did a very nice job here. Good on it!
I'm surprised that the vocal seems under-emphasized. That is usually one of my own pet peeves! But I am returning this morning for one more go at a mix. Thanks for your listen, your thoughtful comment, and really happy you enjoyed.
I like this song, it's awesome. I would like to hear a background shout for "I don't wanna waste" at :59
It seems like a good place to start building up supporting vocals that would really push the chorus at 1:12 like a mf. Doing that will also make the 2nd verse sound more intimate when you could drop out the backing vocals at 1:48.
Good bracing on "trials and errors" with backing vocs.
You did a nice job breaking the track back down for the outro.
If you want another voice for it let me know! I'd have a 2-3 day turnaround probably.
Damn good song.
"i get so saturated hearing the same volume all the time" I was just talking to an engineer about this today!
By the time I'm about ready to pass early mixes around, I'm blind to the track nuances from hearing it so many times. A peer review site like this really helps me out sometimes. Even if you are relatively new to production you can still give valuable advice and opinions as a technical savvy listener. I hope we can help each other!
for sure man! thats why i upload things here, this page gives me some great feedback from its users... but yes, sometimes i just finish the tracks and come back weeks later to finish the mixing and mastering. but it doesn't always work lol.
This track is pure FiOs.
Really though, it's a nice track. Balanced and dynamic. Maybe the snare/clap could have a little more presence, but I'm not an expert in this genre, maybe it's better a little subdued. That was literally the only thing I could find to comment about technically. :) Well done!
Reminds me of "Tangled up in Blue" with the intro chords. Never a bad thing. I agree with the monster magnet reference. There is room for tambourine and shakers. Def vocals would light this up. Groovy piece man.

I definitely hear what you're saying. I'll try adding that in in my second revision and get it posted on here when I'm done!
