For a beat that is so busy with sounds, it actually sounds easy to flow on. I don't know if you meant to mix those vocals that low but it adds a nice effect to this as an instrumental, intentional or not. haha. peace.
like i said this is when we were first learning the program so mixing was tough (at least for me it was) so yeah the mixing is pretty backwards. thanks for the listen tho!
can't believe no one who listened to this reviewed it yet. sick guitar sample and the drums just remind me of early-90s rap. simple but probably my favorite of everything I've heard here so far. Hope you got more here man. Peace.
Yeah, this sounds like some runnin from the law stuff at first. then the sax kicks in and i'm thinking it's more from the point of view of the fuzz chasing the bad guys. great piece all around, especially the sax before the breakdown around 2:30 and afterwards.
man, do i ever hate rihanna but this track is hot, dude. i can totally see a bunch of dilated eyed kids jumping around in a lightshow to this. conversely, i can see myself jigging about in the club with some Black Label to this. Downloading this. Catch track. Nice.
Hey Cynical, you're on the grind, man. Beats all day!!! Hahaha...
Truth be told, I like some of your older stuff a bit better and this one seemed like a step back. It's not terrible, the melody itself is pretty good (especially the flute sample) but I might have used a different synth stab (or something completely different in it's place).
Anyways, you are right, you are getting better and I see that in your tracks. Just stay on your grind cuz you're on the right path. I'm sure you will find some great influences in your music collection as well as in the online community, including looperman.
As someone who's frequented many a belly dancing establishment, I must say, this track is official. Great use of the samples and stop/start rhythm. Adding this to my faves.
Thanks very much :) I have a tendency to layer drums.. I'm only just learning to do my own (total drum theory dumbass here) but even when I use loops I like putting down more than one. Thanks for listening! :) ~Lisa
Nice sample. I heard this flipped on the first Cam'Ron album and felt it then as I'm feeling this now. I love how the sample is slow and sweeping while the hats skitter along in the background.
