on Picked Bass Reggae by Couchie
Hey mate

Greetings from chilly Perth to fellow Aussie in even chillier Albany, don't listen to much Reggae, but this a pleasure to the ears, is that you on the guitar, sounds good, very enjoyable listen, nice relax vibe and groove...Peace mate...Fav'd...mosaic...

thanks heaps Mosaic. All encouragement is appreciated and needed :) Yes, that is me playing 2 or 3 guitar tracks. The skank, almost percussion like is my 1968 Yamaha SA-T (that i bought in Japan last year) and the solo bits in between are my Fender Strat., plus i am playing the simple little keyboards using a Novation midi keyboard and a Toontrack Rhodes VST. I only made the track showing how the bass track, which I uploaded as a loop - can be used or even just to hear it in a mix. Thanks again.

Hey mate

Love the guitar at the start, gets you ready for the track right up, this track does remind me of tunes back in the seventy's, excellent through headset, comes across like it would have taken a bit of time to get everything to fit together as it does, impressive guitar work matey...nice vocal touches...love it...Fav'd...peace n respect mosaic...

Thanks Mo.
I did this about sixteen years ago at a guess on Windows 98. Only the very basic rythm an a little bass is played by me the rest being loops but it took me forever!

on Shades of Grey - OffKi Remix by WongKiShoo
Hey Mate

First off the panning sounds so great right from the very start, wasn't sure about the vocals at first, sounded a little muddy through the headset which they did same partly at times through out the mix, but as the track went on, they sounded better in the mix (less muddy, haven't heard the original so don't know if that is the sound of the vocals you had to work with doing the remix, really surprised this hasn't been reviewed more, because this is a nice listen (suppose its not hip hop)sadly seems others here don't appreciate other genre's as much here anymore these days, fav'd matey...Peace Mosaic...

Thanks for stopping by :)

When I mixed this, I used some in ear Apple headphones.. the mix sounded pretty good to me at the time. I then upgraded to some AKG's and when I listened back to this track I could instantly hear how muddy the entire mix was and was stunned by the clarity of the AKG's. Especially on the low end of things...

I'll upload some of my newer work and hopefully you'll be able to hear the difference in quality :p

Cheers

Hey mate

Thought check out this one for you, spotted in featured, Rap not my genre so no major feedback genre wise sorry, is that you on the vocal? If so one of the better sounding vocals I have heard in rap tracks that I have taken a notice of in the past, not that I review many mind you, Surprising I really enjoyed this track considering not one of my fav genre's, so that's a big thumbs up to you mate...Fav...Peace n respect mate...mosaic...

Hey GO

Mate don't listen to much dance tracks here, not many come up to listen too in the featured tracks so it was refreshing to see this one, has a nice vibe about the track, sounds to me more of the house genre then dance but all the same this is a very enjoyable listen, everything sounds so crystal clear mate, no faults at all from here, sounds very good through headset...credit to ya for the nice work on this one...Fav...Peace n respect...mosaic...

GoldenOokami replied 25th Jun 2016 - 8 years ago
Much thanks! I was really shooting for Nu-Disco, but that's not an option, but I suppose House is an appropriate genre as well. I was pleased with how this came out. Really pushed myself for this.

Hi TG

Thought have a listen and see if can help with what your not sure abouts :) first off nice clean mix, from listening it nearly fits the rock genre, but does seem like a couple of genre's blended further into the track funk being one of them, so maybe the fusion genre? Title wise MAYBE (Long Day At The Office)??? Anyways mate nice work on this one, enjoyed the listen very much...Fav...mosaic...PS Hope helped a little...

on Voltage by mudhoen
Hey matey

Long time, saw this one in featured so had to come check it out, as you know my fav genre to do is trance, even though have none on site at moment, personally I wouldn't change anything in this track to be honest, only thing maybe and I say maybe is bring in another synth in spots, but like I said don't think you need to do more, it kept me glued to the track all the way through and did have that nice trance fix feel...PS yep I know where you are coming from when losing your father same happened to me back in 2013 after not knowing he was sick, found out about 2 weeks before he past so came as a shock, Yes I struggled to get the head around doing music, but when I did it was a big help in getting out the hurt and sadness, as the saying goes in some way music is a healer (helps anyways) Peace man...mosaic...fav...

Hey Mosaic. Thank you for your comment. i know you are a talented trance producer and hate to see you not posted trance in here anymore. I know the reason and fully understand it but you were a prodcuer i could learn from a lot. I am glad you liek the track. That means im on the good way to learn to make tracks like these. My condoleances for your loss eventhough it is some time ago. It will be a part in our life that always will be there. Music definetly helps out a lot.

on The Denim Clad Monk by silverman
Hey mate

Nice bass and beat to this one, loving the pads coming in at the intro, very dramatic cinematic type of piece this one, pads/strings and cello really standout in this track, giving it a journey type of feel with the beat and bass, very enjoyable listen, in parts the track reminds me of a great Japanese artist Kitaro, if you haven't heard of him, check him out on YouTube and will see what I mean...massive fav...Peace mosaic...

Hey mate

Epic piece, sounding so spot on in the headset, nice effects in places too, nothing to fault from this end at all man, considering the length of the track, seems to good through fairly quick, which is a great sign of a decent interesting track, massive credit to you for an outstanding track...massive fav...Peace n respect...mosaic...

Yes, I think it feels brief, or at least that it doesn't drag too much, because I'm always introducing new elements so there's always stuff ending and starting.

Not much more I can say about your other words as you haven't given me any detail eg by mentioning instruments or particular sections of the track.

Glad you enjoyed it.

on Easy For Me by Spivkurl
Hey mate

What the hell is SKA, must been hiding under a rock or something, never heard of the genre lol...

This a has a very much a hardcore drive and feel to me, 160bpm? or just sounds fast like in hardcore, really digging the minimalistic approach to this track my friend, allowing your vocals to stand out more then your other tracks, very catchy drive to this one for sure mate...love it...FAV...Peace n respect my friend...mosaic...
Spivkurl
Spivkurl replied 2nd Jul 2016 - 8 years ago
Hey buddy! Ha ha, well, as far as I define it, ska is influenced by both reggae and punk rock. Hardcore is what I changed this to, even though if I replaced the synths with brass, and played the guitar myself, then it would probably be mistaken for real ska... heh. I believe that the actual tempo was 186 BPM on this one, definitely upper hardcore range. I am allowing my voice to be heard, mostly out of necessity while protesting the poisoning of our city and it's population. This is the first vocal track I have done in quite some time with the aid of alcohol. Good for me, right? Thank you for listening and the favorite!!

on Sunday Morning Vibes by PapaNelson
Hey mate

wow very nice chilled feel about this little gem, always a sucker for piano in piece's which you have use great here carrying the track along great with the beat and guitar, cant say I am a fan of the piano mix in the middle of the piece, detracts away from the earlier and after good work on the track, I actually restarted track as I thought my net was playing up, but it was still there in middle of track, apart from part mentioned, this is an outstanding piece of work, totally great use of strings piano guitar to tell a story and having a very relaxed feel...will fav as overall tracks was very well done...Peace...mosaic...

Thanks for listening Mo it means a lot.
New area for me so it actually took me quite some time to get it to this point. I wanted to put some piano in there but totally failed. I can not for the life of me get piano into a mix but never say never.
Up market in a sentence involving anything to do with me is a very novel idea indeed!
Thanks for listening and commenting.
