cool track. i think the tempo increase may be a bit TOO drastic but its got a great vibe overall.

cool piano intro! also love the reversed cymbals you use, drums are great overall. the vocals before the drop are a little muddy/indistinct. would be nice to hear them better. pretty cool wobbles / bassline though I might take their levels down a hair.

on Avicii - You Make Me synth rework by prakashsimarofficial
The sub bass that comes in at 0:31 needs to be tuned. Its in a different key and is clashing with the main melody.

Hmmm, some really cool parts in this, it just needs structure and focus.

on Hey sexy girl by johnnyproducing
Yo man, first off your wobble isn't in the same key as your intro. Second, your drums are burried beneath your wobble bass, try playing with the EQing more and or looking into a mild sidechaining effect. This track has potential.
johnnyproducing
johnnyproducing replied 21st Feb 2014 - 10 years ago
You are right that it's not exactly the same key, this is because the intro is an arp which changed the notes so it sounds off-key even though they are the exact same notes. I should indeed pay some more attention to the drums and I think sidechaining them would be beneficial in this track but I didn't really bother in this one ;p Just made this one for fun and experimenting. Thanks for leaving a comment and for the hints ;)

Nice! Idk who did the processing on the vocals but its a great reverbed, haunting feel. I love that synth that comes in at around 2:41. It really drives the track along.

great dark/gritty bass. i think your levels need work, its very quiet in the beginning and then it get very loud at the drop. it sounds like its clipping at the loud parts too so take a look at that.

cool track. I like how you tuned the wobble basses to follow the melody/chords.

Sick sounds, you gonna expand it to a full track? Ever considered a snare roll during that buildup? It seems a bit spartan as is.

Orex replied 23rd Jan 2014 - 11 years ago
Yes, which is what I am working on right now. Adapted the idea of adding a drumroll and it works pretty well. The white noise may come in later. Thank you for the advice.

on Kick That Bass by DjAvad
finally, some solid hardstyle on looperman. nice track dude! one minor thing I noticed was that one of your bass synths cuts out rather abruptly around the 50-51 second mark. would be nice to hear that smoothed out. I also wouldn't mind a harder kick tbh but sick track no doubt!

on 1st attempt at hardstyle beat by emit
Nothing about this is hardstyle. Not trying to be a jerk but hardstyle is usually around 150 bpm, insane distorted and overdriven kicks with euphoric trance leads.

not sure what the other guy is talking about the vocals going off beat... they sound right on to me. maybe like 1/64th off right at the end of the last vocal clip but nothing noticable or anything that detracts from the track. very nice job with this man, your lead synth is sick and your melody fits great with her vocals.

I can def hear your avicii influences in this. That piano is still pretty cool even if its quite as energetic as the one in something like Seek Bromance. It almost sounds like a fusion between some lounge and an avicii style which is pretty chill. nice job man!

probably some of the best drums ive heard on a dubstep looperman track. your wobble synth is fairly generic. definetely needs an outro. some cool changeups and decent drops. alot of possibilities here but great job so far!

well good drums. its not bad for a first dubstep track. your wobbles are generally uncoordinated and they sound chaotic/unorganized and discordant. i noticed a couple presets in there like depthcharge from Sytrus I believe. Try to eliminate those obvious presets as they detract from your own creativity. Work on your continuity and flow for your next track. Keep producin!

this is pretty sick. I dont hate the siren but it doesnt add much and is a bit of a stale sound as the siren stuff is used too frequently if you ask me. Your patterns could use some variation but your sounds are really great. Also like the vocals. Great buildup! I would love to do an edit of this if you use FL Studio. If you would be ok with me doing that lemme know!!!
Matteblak
Matteblak replied Unknown
Hey there thanks for the review. Yea not many people have been keen on the siren. I know it's over used I just havent really used it before in any tracks I've done so thought I'd give it a go lol. As for doing an edit I would love for you to have a go definately!! I did use FL Studio to create some of the loops such as the bass lines etc. but the rest of the project is done in Acid Pro 7. I do have the tracks as stems though so you can have a go at editing etc with those if that's any use??? If you send me an email address I can send them over to you right away.

Thanks alot

really unique style here. love it. the syncopation is sick. i wouldnt mind more bass on your wobbles but they are timed perfectly. great use of vocal samples. intro is cool. sick drums. great job on this one man!

yea this is a refreshing track. nice to get away from the usual halfstep wobble tracks. great atmosphere and vibe here. deep dubby basses. effects are sick. i agree the drums could be more intersting but it barely detracts from the vibe.
