on NataleFatale - Chaos on streets by NatalFatale
Wicked use of the vocal. I love those fcked up glitch vocals. I did one on a track of mine - You. Check it out. This is a really creative track. pretty mental, love those hats coming it at 1:30 and then that glitchy synth. You think its going to kick in hard, but then switches to those nice mellow chords and the vocals again. The beats are the kind i would expect from underworld at their most heavy. The vocal has a nice commercial kind of edge, very listenable. Loads of work gone into this. damn good

on Hard Workin (Feat F D Roosevelt) by DonnieVyros
Reminds me of boards of canada or something - one of those ambient groups. Its jazzy and funky, technically really great. I like the use of the vocal, it kinda sounds like the music is parodying the seriousness of the message and the sincerity of the words. Nice work mate!

Yeah I hear ya. I guess that's was my way of commenting on how 'history repeats itself'... All you can do is kick back, smile, and accept it (no sense of trying to ice skate uphill, ya know). Cool comparison BTW (woulda never thought of that). Glad ya dug it. Later on!

on Getting In by DjNixoN
Nice tone on that synth. Sounds really dark and dirty - kinda bladerunner style. I like those synth strings, really sounds like its building somewhere. Love the chorus bit with that 3rd synth line. I think this is a good track with some real atmosphere. The hat work is pretty fresh, but i would like to hear the beat change or something - change it up - take a line of instrumentation out for a few bars or something like that. Just to give it a dynamic rather than repeating the whole way through. really cool though man.

on Dim-plex by Diwey
I like that synth stab all the way through. really cool when the beat comes in. Love the synths at 1:20 and even more at 1:40. As it builds, that sound becomes so rich and full. Really nice blend of textures. Sounds like The Orb or something from that 90's kind of instrumental electro scene.

Thanks to you I learned about the existence of The Orb ;-)
I listen to them now .... Thanks!

Thanks for the comment!

Totally awesome. Bass is super funky, lovely laid back vibes. Bit cold for this kind of tune at the moment, but i will be saving it as a favourite for next summer.

Do some vocals on this bad boy!

on Wish u were here by Diwey
Really enjoying this one buddy. Nice and laid back. I like those vocals too, i think they are spot on in terms of timbre. Little quiet at times, but just right for this song and a great melody.

on Ya Dont Stop Intro by MikeAnthony
Real quality. I love 90's hiphop. Really was the era for the phattest beats. That jazzy cymbal works really well.

This is wicked mate. Really love this kind of laid back hip hop groove. Awesome work with that sample. The beats could be a bit more mixed up, but i really like the kick - that hits hard. great work on this one.

on NatalFatale - La Femme by NatalFatale
I would say this is definitely the best thing you have done. Its got a real edge to it and that beat is killer. What are you making these tunes with? Its really got some great ideas in it and they are subtly done, which for me, makes it less in your face than it could be and thats a good thing. Sounds like something that could be on Kitsune, has that european style. The one thing about your tunes is that they are always fast and furious! The synths are excellent, great sound to them. Fave!

on start on track by NatalFatale
I like that squeaky synth as it begins - really intense build.

Heavy heavy bass. Would sound pretty killer on some better subs.

Its a good thumping tune. The one thing i would say is that considering it is pretty short, it flies around all over the place. I think you should try and do a full length version where you can give some of those segments a little longer to bed in - the bit at 1:34 is starting to sound really cool. maybe you could bring the beat and bass back in and do that for a few bars and then bring the vocal in. Mix it up a bit with stripping back and then bringing things back in. Cool foundation though

this is seriously wicked. I love Rufftraks stuff and this has really set it off perfectly. i think your flow compliments it really well. Sounding a bit like a laid back big boi at times actually. The beat is dope. so cool!

on NatalFatale-HardyElec by NatalFatale
This has a crazy tempo. Kinda gives me the mental image of one of those scenes from a french movie where someone is searching for their friend in a club/party and out of their mind on drugs and the lights are flashing everywhere. Its got so much going on, totally energised. that drum break at 2:30 is really wicked. Loads of ideas - you have a really interesting style. Is this a mix or one track? and did you sample haddaway for one very small second?! the bass is deep. nice work - look forward to hearing what you do next.

on Fruity Loops Dubstep by Bizar
That is a naughty wobble. What vst did you use to make it? Its cool. I wonder if at one point you could possibly strip it back to a slow - 1 snare on the 3rd beat style - typical dubstep, then bring back that faster beat again? Could mix up the speed of that mighty wobble too. its a good track though mate.

on Fragrant Cleanser by Littbarski
dirty! very nice. Really used those effects on the synth well. really tight production, that bass line is really great. I like the vocals you have used they give it a kind of crazy jingle type vibe, which goes really well with your description. Can imagine weird daft punk style video. I like that you have thrown that random break in there from 2:20 or so. keeps it mixed up and adds to the madness. really original and cool track

on lights reflection by IAMFREDJUNIOR
This is really cool. i like those toms on the intro, that big 80's style beat, and especially the use of that nice glitch type noise. Bass is really phat and all round its very professional sounding.
I cant give tips like this chap above, but i can say that to my ears this sounds pretty sweet. nice work

on Grindin Some Gears by Tranzistor
those synths have some real power man. I like the beat pumps along nice, but just gives some tight structure to that distorted beat. Really great. I am enjoying it big time.

Would be interesting to see how this would work with a dubstep kind of beat - snare on the 3rd beat only. Could be a cool little remix opportunity. The synths already have a dubstep feel anyway.might be cool to start off in dubstep, move to hip hop and then that house beat. Love that extra gear it finds when it moves into the house beat. excellent work buddy.
Tranzistor
Tranzistor replied Unknown
Thanks man yea this was originally a poor attempt at a dubstep song then i just had too much sugar and wanted to speed the hell out of it. but im feeling you that's why there's basically three mini songs in it (dubby synths, hip hop groove, then the dance stuff) because I just took it so many different directions. Ill probly make a separate version sometime in the future and rearrange it and dub it out more as I initially intended. Of course you could try it too I wouldn't mind haha. Anyway thanks man I appreciate the review.

on Real Drama by ruff_trak
reel sweet. You have a real ear for a good sample and a wicked record collection by the sounds of it.

The only thing i can mention is that im not a big fan of those hats. They sound a bit metronomey?

other than that a real belter of a track.

on Mixed Nuts (possible guitarist collab) by DonnieVyros
real nice jam. tried playing along and it sounded not half bad! I like that laid back jam session vibe. The bass is really nice with those drums. i think a bit of funk guitar would go great, some nice chord stabs.

im not entirely sure about the swirly pads. COuldnt decide if they made it a bit different or just werent in keeping. Great track though bud

As for the pads, I could email you a version without 'em just so you'd be able to compare the two to see which you like more. And I'm glad you had fun playin with this (I enjoyed making it). If ya ever do record anything lemme know, I'd love to hear it. Later on!

on Everybody Needs Hope by King2Face
Great sample, really nicely put together, and your flow has the perfect rhythm for it. Only thing i could possibly say is that the vocals could be slightly higher in the mix, cos they are a bit quiet at times. I love the lyrics. Would be cool if you just stripped the track just down to the beat for a verse - just to mix it up a bit. Have you tried a bass line for this track - might be too much but could be a cool addition. Would like to get some acapellas from you buddy.
