oh my ...talk about production..this is just great ...wasn't sure when I clicked it because I generally dislike hip hop..but I dig on this brother...it's got that beasties live vibe to it... just great ...why can't all hip hop be like this huh? anyway ...great track...great production... I enjoyed every minute...keep 'em coming brother

Thanks fam...glad you liked it. I try to make hip hop a little more old schoolish, and jazzy! Real instruments as much as possible and not so much of the expected.

some great dnb here brother...some of those basslines are just great.. for me some of it tended to over take you beats at times but thats a small problem that can be fixed quickly with little compression...any way nice I enjoyed the listen..keep 'em coming brother

nice .... I like the ideas here but some of the panning would make my head hurt after a while especially if I was listening on head phones ....having said that I did oddly enjoy listening... have you thought about trying to send a demo of stuff like this to Sociopath Recordings their a net label out of Singapore or is it Thailand..I can never remember.. anyway... they release a lot of stuff like this and breakcore etc ... anyway keep 'em coming brother

loving the atmosphere your setting up here...nice use of fx and vocal as well to set it...for me I was expecting a big first drop with screaming reeses and phat sub so it kinda took me by surprise that it didn't come.... but still having said that you got a great base to work from here...keep 'em coming brother...
Gsusfrk
Gsusfrk replied Unknown
Thanks man, the first drop is meant to be a downer, but oh man the second drop even I'm excited for! I don't know, I'm a little weird that way.... Alas! It is still a WIP so much is to be done!
And I made the bass an octave lower than I should of, so the bass is no where near the power it should be. This.was.not.on.purpose. :)
I've got so many ideas that I want the second drop to go like but it'll have to be a simple one to make it a good one!
Thanks for the listen and this (at least the second update of the first half should be coming out soon... uh maybe a wekk, or two.) Then starts the second drop... that my friend I hope is something that will shock both you and me!
THanks for the time man!
Talk soon and I'll hit up a tune of yours.

some really nice work brother... having watched the original terminator last night I find myself heading back there listening to this... for me though there's not enough texture to the bass end of the arrangement perhaps a little more timpani or even the bass end of a tubular bell would have sorted that.... having said that I liked it alot and faved...nice one.... keep 'em coming brother

on Detroit Demeanor (Alividlife and Blume Mix) by BlumeChoon
I'll bet this one was a hard one... huh? I always find dnb hip hop work so well together but you gotta get it right...which ...you seem to have done brother...reminds me of the early 90's stuff..you know? hype...aphrodite... for me the drum track needs some more layers to add thickness but thats just me being picky...anyway nice...keep 'em coming brother
BlumeChoon
BlumeChoon replied Unknown
Yeah this one was a lil tough... Luckily though I didn't have to mess with the pella to much b/c they were already rappin kinda fast... I was surprised how well it matched with the beat... Also when Alividlife said he would add some guitar I was so happy to have given this track more life... I love my old skool 90's Dnb,Jungle jams... I appreciate the crit too.. I'll remember for future projects...

on The Beginning (Edited) by andredeville
I do have to question your choice of genre here.... I would have gone more for pop...

the track sounds like the script without vocals... if you get what I mean...

never the less it's well produced but it doesn't have much substance or bite to it... kinda like the script with a vocal!!

keep 'em coming brother
andredeville
andredeville replied Unknown
LOL...I know exactly what you mean. If there was anyway here to combine genres, I would most definitely include pop. I did categorize it as cinematic due to its melody which can be suitable for background music in films. I don't know but I've seen a couple of wedding videos lately that used upbeat music...and amazingly it works. Hehe. This is my first try at creating an original song so yeah, it needs a lot of work still.
But anyways, reviews like yours are those that help the most. So thanks for that. Hope you do share your inputs on further tracks that I'd be uploading. Again thanks. Keep it comin too.

some nice work... reminded me abit of some of junior walkers stuff ya know?

with a more modern twist to it kinda junior meets 80's duran duran with a little bit of funk from curtis in there as well...

it's very hard for me as an electronic artist to critic something like this because I'm always looking for something electronic I suppose!!..

I enjoyed the listen but for me you do need some kinda extra element in there as well as the blistering sax solos...maybe some bass runs like bootsy colins did in superbad or even a short drum solo just to elevate it upwards kinda like the thing James browns band did in his 70's heyday...ya know what I mean? anyway I enjoyed the listen thanks for sharing brother... keep 'em coming

on I Was Made to Lose Control by clinthammerMUSIC
some nice ideas... the vocals are great perhaps just a bit more mastering and they'd sit a better into the track.... other than that I enjoyed the listen thanks for sharing... I'm with Spivkurl it really does remind me of that whole trent reznor sound.. keep 'em coming brother

clinthammerMUSIC replied Unknown
Thanks NJ! ...Vocals are so damn hard to get right. I will def be working on them more throughout the next couple of weeks. I was kind of going for that mid 90's NIN sound so it is a major compliment you and Spiv have given me. Thanks again!

on Time Shift by Gsusfrk
some great ideas here brother....has a old skool meets new skool feel to it with that bass.... would have loved to have heard some more drops.... I have to say I agree with Spivkurl and sn76 theres a bit of clipping in there and also I would say you high end needs cutting a bit.... you still using reason? I completely cut the high end in my master combinator using param 2 I turn the freq up to full, gain down to 0 and open the parametric up 32.... it kills that high end tinnyness that reason tends to have... anyway nice track.. keep 'em coming brother...
Gsusfrk
Gsusfrk replied Unknown
Thanks man, yea the high ends, especially on the beat are hard to control, though it is definitely something I'd like to master/know how to do properly.
Send me a message on what you mean by drops.
Thanks,

some really good ideas here.... loving the harsh beat but for me it just needs a few extras to really bring it up...maybe a vocal for extra texture or a few lfo led reeses... still enjoyed the listen though...keep 'em coming brother

Oh man, I hear yah on that one, this is part 1 of 4 and obviously if you listen to the 3 preceeding tracks (time shift, warp and flex) they have, for me at least, grown in something I wanted to produce. So I've been planning on re-producing the 4 tunes to get what I've learnt into these and hopefully make them better projects.
Thanks for the checking the tune man, I'll definitely check out one of your tunes. :)

on Dont Lie to Me by spooni
some nice ideas... I have to question your genre choice probably would have been more suited to electronic genre.... the track itself is nicely done the productioin is good ...I would say that you gotta watch some of the levels... I got a bit of clipping my end... never be afraid to turn it down a bit full is not always best... keep 'em coming brother

there are some nice ideas here... you've got a very 80's sounding track which is very different for dnb for me though I'd would have liked to hear a sub it would have filled this whole track out.... don't get me wrong I enjoyed the listen and your use of acoustic instruments works well I just think it could benefit froma little more electronic help....keep 'em coming brother

on Untitled work in progress by byobsoad2
there are some good ideas here brother... it ends really abruptly which is disappointing... the thing is for me it's a nice listen but it lacks the strength that I would expect from dnb... especially if your using reason 4 too many loops... I don't want to be down on your track because it's good but try checking out daves "darkstep" tutorial it'll give you some ideas to add some more strength and thickness to your tracks... keep 'em coming brother

It stops like that only because I'm not done yet. I'm gonna add to it but I just had a huge urge to post it so far. I'll definitely look at that tutorial too. I saw it on there, but didn't really watch it.

there are some good ideas here... the bass line is a little over powering... maybe your just need to work on your EQing a post production skills a little brother.. I wonder what it would sound like with out that bass because the drum track works well.. theres no shame in going back to the drawing board.. we all do it especially me I'm a demon for it... like I said some good ideas maybe all it needs is a rethink... keep 'em coming brother
