some nice ideas...for me the distortion should be toned down in places... some of the volume rises aren't need really..
your basses are a little thin.. I would make three instances of the basses EQ one to sub ..one to mids and one the high end.. that way you should get a bigger sound and then you'd need less distortion...
maybe try side chaining your bass compression with the kick so it will duck when the kick hits ...also try taking the bottom end off that kick kill everything below 85hz because it's muddying up the low end...
with some small tweaks here and there this could be a banger and maybe shortening it might be a good idea too because I did get a bit bored after a while...
all in all some awesome ideas maybe just work on the post production..
Thanks, I'm just into the idea of doing little mixes at the moment because A, i'm not giving away full tracks and B, i've run out of track space on my profile so i might as well try and squeeze in as much tunage as possible.
Thanks for dropping in and giving it a listen.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

hey thanks. Done it. It's better I think, you're right, with a bit more compression and bass, but some folks tell me to compress less to let the signal have more range...hopefully a good balance now, but tricky as peoples monitors vary.
...it's why feedback is so great - you get to find the sweet spot :)
some nice work...like you've already said that snare needs more snap..
the vocal sits nicely... I would add a backing track and swing it more to the right because most of the vocal is quite left in the mix...
the bass might need to come up a little in the mix maybe even make a sub instance to give it more weight because its lovely you want the listener to feel the bass as well as hear it ..
that solo might need to come up a tiny bit at the start not sure if it's faded in or what but that volume needs to be there...
you might wanna expand on the dynamics of the stereo field a little too...just use a plugin like flux to give the mix a bit of sparkle... maybe even EQ a boost on the master at around 16000hz ..
Hiya Phyruis.... Thanks for coming by, and thanks so much for the pointers I wish could use all those great pointers you mentioned...but 1), it's almost like Japanese to me;
2) it is a pre-recorded track that I purchased, so I am cluess as to do most of what you mentioned with instrumentals that are all on the same track;
and, 3) I did it only for the fun of it.
With all that said, I'm happy you enjoyed it. If it's possible, and you can do all those things you mentioned, I'd be happy to send you both my dry vocal and the instrumental track.
nice intro.. I notice someone already mentioned the drums..in my opinion you might want layer up to give it all much more weight...
you also might think about adding a sub instance of you bassline.. EQ it with a boost at 40hz and cut everything above 80hz just to stop it mixing with the kicks... yeah..
nice track it just needs more weight... nice keep 'em come brother
nice intro.. lovely pale and thin.. then the beat drops... you've got a muddle but the ideas there for sure... like I said before it's all about the post production.. you've done the hard part the rest can be learnt...
well I have to say you can tell it's your first go... but that said all the ideas are there... I would suggest maybe try going to youtube and looking for some how to videos...
Thanks for the feedback! Sorry it took me, what, five months to reply? I've been working hard on my music since the time I made this track, and I have to say I really can hear improvement going back and listening to my old stuff, then new stuff. But hey, we all start somewhere, right? :D
some nice touches in the intro...the Bass does need to come up in the mix you can hardly hear it which is a shame..my sub on just picked it up ... for me you've gotta layer up your drum track to give it power and impact...also to give it a pro sound..
some great Ideas... for me that piano needs to come up in the mix and maybe a slight reverb to add some extra to it... loving the scratches in there and I'm glad you did use them all the way through...
you have to work on the end cause it's a bummer brother
Wasn't sure if piano would go with it. Since I got a second opinion, I'll try put it in and make the song longer. I'll also try to tie it up with a better cadence.
Thanks a lot for your input! It's Looperman-browsers such as yourself and the ones that have previously commented who push me to keep improving my works.
this is something that I seem to be finding all over the net at the moment.. this track is well conceived and the concept is great but unfortunately the post production (seem to be my buzz words today!!)is lacking..
for me I think you'd need to layer up that drum track maybe adding in some SFX to mix it up a bit also the kick need to be EQ'ed without the very bottom end so you'll need to remove every below 75hz... you need to find you sweet spot on your snares with an EQ..
the bassline you've also got to layer up.. if you want to keep it simple you could make 3 instances of the bass EQ one as a sub/low end, one as purely mid and one as top end together they would make a whole bass track...
there are some good ideas here for me it just needs tweaks to make it live up to the concept..
Thanks mate for a good advice :) This track is not finish ... but I just starting make some music :) I learn every day and your comment is helpful for me :) I have a lot concept but I need more ability :) I need time :)
Oh, im not planning on making any stops just yet.. lol..
Thank you for the comment, ´tis always nice to hear individual interpretations of the tune. For me, the piano is everything.. When im hardhitting the piano, im in that specific state of trying to make sense, like you highlight a specific word in a sentence..
Funny you say that cuz . .. this is one of those tracks. i cant access the files cuz i shared a computer with my bro when we were living together. Then i moved out, but he kept the computer =/ Now its broken and this original track.. . lost... sucks big time
nice...you can really hear your nin influences in the intro...
for me those snares really need to pop.. you gotta find that pure snap you know? try layering the snare with short claps and also bring it up in the mix...
I also add another instance of the main hats put some massive pan on it to almost dizzying then sitting it way down in the mix so's you can bearly hear it..it would add thickness and speed...
I also would add a cut to every (except the hats) EQ at 10.0hz.. thin Q... it would help your high end percussion and hats sit properly...
also you might wanna try putting and filter on the Bass and cut everything above 75hz... also making two instances of the bassline and pan one all the way right the other all the way left... that too would help your kicks to sit better..
all that said I enjoyed the track as always brother..
some nice style you guys have got together here.. you know I love the glitch...
I would say maybe if you try taking out on the bass eq at around 90/120hz to give the bass room.. also using a filter you could cut the top off that sub setting it to take every away about 70hz would mean it wouldn't mess so much with that kick...
I also would say it might be nice to hear a little more automation on those glitches bring them life more..
all in all a nice hi-bred of glitch and breakbeat..some nice stuff..
some nice ideas ... I'm not much of a breakbeat fan I have to say... this is nice as a track.... I would try doing some surgical EQing on the low end ... cutting the whole bottom out of those kicks as well might be an idea to give the whole thing abit more clearer...
some nice ideas... That glass synth needs some thickening which sound ridiculous but you can do it through EQ's .. some of the structure needs tweaking maybe some more drops... but still
hip hop really aint my thing but still some nice ideas brother..
some great ideas.. the use of the samples... sort of...slightly... takes away from the mystic of the track bringing it away from being twisted in the dark and leaves it naked in the light ..you know?
for me you need to work on post production.. thickening you drums with layers and EQing the snares 200/250 hz and at 2.0/2.5hz then kicks at 80/120hz both would need a deep cut with a thin Q on 10.0 hz to leave space for the hats... you bassline needs thickening with EQing and compression sidechaining the kicks through it with release around half way and attack at 0...this would pull it about and snap it into place... I would also take the whole bottom end out of those kicks to give room for the bass sub to sit..
I'm gonna stop there cause I know people do do this for fun reading reviews like this can be a total bummer...
so yeah ..nice ideas just needs some post production work and some layering ..
not familiar with the game so I can judge if that is a good or bad influence... I can hear what you've done here and the ideas are all in place so you have the structure....
you've got work to do post production on this ...EQing and compression.. I would also go deep on the scale with that bass ... I know alot of people do this for fun so I'm gonna say if you wanna get some serious help in that way PM me..
like I say the structure is there you just need to work on post production..
I'm actually not a producer at all I honestly just threw this all together on GarageBand and toyed around with effects to the best of my ability but I'm still really at a basic level as far as production goes- I'll try my best to figure out EQ and the like.
