Really nice tune man, sounds are good!
Mixing is good too! Bass kick may need lower 100 or 200hz, give it a bit more "oomph." Maybe layer it with another kick? It's good man!
Keep it up!

on Jazzy Feelin by GoldenOokami
The bass would of been nice with a double bass? :)
Sax is interesting, sounds good though.
Feel like a ride symbal would be VERY fitting for those drums - follow or be a little off time. Would give it a little more character
Nice sounds man, keep it up :)

on Modnex - Tree People by Modnex
Like the piano and the reverb it has. Beat is definitely very fitting!
Melody is catchy and happy, gets a bit loud at points, but other than the loud bits, its a nice tune, very creative :)
Keep it up!

Modnex replied 19th Feb 2014 - 10 years ago
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed this one. I do agree it is a little loud but that is something that can be easily changed, so no big deal!

Thanks for checking me out, much appreciated!

on Loving You - Remix of Easy by Mat Zo n Robinson by SeriouslyJoking
Arps are nice :)
Delays on them is good too :)
There seems to be a lot of compression, almost limiting the pads to sound different than I think if they were to be uncompressed. Though, I know the power of compression and how good it can be :)
Beat I feel is too low in comparison to the rest of the tracks within the tune. Kick needs to be more prominent, give it more flow and emphasis; though not too much compression, or clicks start to form.
Piano is a bit too loud and ducks the entire track a little.
So over all, all that's needed is a little mastering/mixing :)
Nice tune!

Nice lead up to the drop, I feel like a crash cymbal or ride cymbal would suit this track really nice. Especially with the synths on here. Beats' got a good flow to it but it sounds a little harsh. Unless you wanted it that way. :)
Keep it up!

on Take Me Away Ft Nacole and Stephanie Kay by SeriouslyJoking
Really nice piano piece in this
Vocals fit it too, feels as though there may be too much mids, but that's just me :) Mid's are a hard thing to perfect :)
Keep at it! Don't give up trying

Hey thanks!
Yes, a lot of flaws here. I had no clue about how to make the mix clearer back then but am getting a grip of it now - I should do a remake on this and try to fix the muddiness and make the kick punchier etc.

Thanks for listening!

Nicely done man, nice cross over, got some sick themes in them. Got a similar theme to Noisia and foreign beggars contact choon. where starts off with a slower tune and goes into a faster sick drop of drum n bass!
Keep it up man

on Push da button by TCAS
Inteersting mix, for sure, a little of trance in there with the breakbeat.
Bass is good, beat is good too, got a very static feel to them - but they do fit the song very well, so it's not a bad thing lol
Keep on making music!! :)

on Take me away feat Chip Jenkins by sn76
Nice Bass compression.
The guitar may need a little dynamic increase :)
Chip's voice is good, though I feel its a little loud. Unless you want that :) THough you could always increase the drum to compensate the difference. :)
Keep up the work man!

Respect to ANYONE who live records or can put lyrics to DnB. Got my respect :)
Nice effects, seems like there's a missing eq frequency, but that's just me ears :)
Bass is nice and dark

Very upbeat melody, nice. Feel that there is no real "main" section that you want lifted above the rest? Like the synths are pretty loud, but the break/drums are loud too. Bass is a good dynamic, eq's are good too. Dynamics are just what need to be worked on in my opinion. :)
Hope that helps mate

Sounds like the melody has some character to it :)
Sounds good.A little compressed and your high and low frequencies are maxing out leaving no room for your mids!
Has a Dubstep Drum to it, why not put it in Dubstep?
There's some real nice synths in here, maybe a little too much going on with everything else making it hard to hear them but they're still nice.
Good work :)
Keep it up,
Steve

on Mean Voice by TCAS
Hey man, so the pad (for trance) works well, but I'd put a filter on it and maybe layer it to get a fuller sound out of it. Maybe add a eq of 500-1200KHZ to add a fuller sound too.
The drums are nice, but they seem too low and more in the background rather than in the front where they usually are. Unless you made them that way.
Synths are nice as well as the arps, adds complexity to it.
The kick kind of reminds me of a song from the game Neef For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit. Similar theme.

Good on yah man, keep it up!

I gonna remix this track and take your comments as well...

Nice build man, bass is heavy too.
As you said, micing needs a little work, but still pretty good.
Maybe add a high passed reverb on the bass, give it a little tail. Drums are pretty good too!
Bass wasn't monotous so thats ALWAYS good thing!
Keep it up man!
Sound great!

on partyman by TobyHardBeats
Got a nice energy to it, though there is quiet a lot of distortion throughout the tune.
Got nice effects in this, and the vocal works well.
There may be a little too many breaks inbetween the drops. But it does give variance so it's good in a sense.
The synth is nice too, strong and punchy.
Good on yah! Keep it up and try to see if you can rid yourself of the distortion on the track.

yo thnx for listening! i have lurned something about breaks a couple days ago i have a gate now so i cane clean up the breaks and make room for hi hats and stuff im also lurning how to make good drums white a nice punch. and about the distortion that is all part of my game :) i can tel you nothing is over the limits it just sound that way.
but i agry i must make it more natural for the ears :)
that is somthing im going to do later this year i think.
this tracks are al a lurning proces and experimental in some kind of way. thnx for taking the time and giving me some feedback. keep it up.

on Feel my Drums by TobyHardBeats
Drums are hard, good and steady. But the bass is lacking IMO. Need some of those subs to rattle the walls, maybe turn the whole track down and leave the bass at the same level. All I can hear is the bass kick (bass wise).
Keep it up man

yo thnx for listening gsusfrk.
yes i made this track a time ago and my skills white synths are not that good in this track i think the best thing to do here is take out the old synth work en ad new en more layerd synths i got that now. but i can appreciate the feedback thnx for that! keep it up! music is my life. check out my website drumandbasspro.nl for more tracks. but dont forget im still need to lurn a lot :)

Old Skool feel man! A bit raw but has that nice feel! DON'T LOOSE THAT!!
Break is a little overcompressed, and the bass is distorting, maybe add a limiter, compress the sound or just don't master the choon so hot lol
Has that lounge feel, real nice touch man.
Keep at it!

The break reverses have those nasty clicks to them lol i hate those!
But a clean and tidy track; nice.

Thanx for your kind words...

Your comments are worth a lot to the Looperman community.
That old-skool thing is something wich I get back often but I really don't know how to make it not old-skool...
Probably because I like those sounds so much...

Thanx,

Track is pretty jump-up style, not my favorite to be honest lol but something missing is definitely the sub bass. You got to pump that low end up!
Other than that not much else to say, sorry man.
I'm looking into making song with more of a melody/structure to them, much more difficult but i think it may be easier to play around with vocals in that sense.
We'll see!
Keep it up man

Bass is real nice man. Got a jump up feel to it.
Personally I think the snare is a little loud, it fits but it's a tad outside the dynamic levels of the rest of the break.
Hitting a lot of mid levels is good but there may be a little too much mid in this; may be the headphones I'm using.
The guitar stab is nice, delay suite it well. There are some instruments that are a little loud but it doesn't affect it too much.
Keep at it man!

Drum tracks are so dope, got some nice flow to this.

on Drop it fin version by sn76
The bass in the beginning sounded a little distorted in the left ear but i think it was part of the bass structure.
When the drop hits the crash distorts the track a little, over mastering?
It's hard to explain but the different basses go well but are a little too jumpy... if that makes sense. It turned out pretty good though. :)
Keep it up man,
Steve
