on Look Mom No Loops Well there is one by KSwissBandit
Well... there;s a lot of clipping so that needs to change, the drums are out there man, I couldn`t keep on track with the dub. Bass at times was nice, but again that clipping needs to go!
You got to get an image in your mind as to where you`re going with the track, without an image or vision - there wont be much of a track man.
But practise makes perfect, just try to practise the right stuff!
Pce out and don`t give up!

Cheers mate, I have a s*** load of exams coming up so probably won't be able to get much practice in for a while. Will defo revisit this when they are out of the way though. I've switched programs, now on reason 4, it's so much better than renoise so it will hopefully the track will be more enjoyable to play around with. Thanks for the feedback man.

on Never Again by Spivkurl
nice melodies man
beat seems a little weak (comparing it to major artists - the only way to get a good feel as to where you're at) maybe compress it, I really don't know how to make a good trace beat so maybe listening to me isn't such a good idea lol
sounds good though - almost reminded me of Barbie Girl - way back in the day lol
Keep it up

Haha, Barbie Girl! I remember that track! Funny that this reminds you of that! I can see what you mean about the beat, I'm still learning how to make a hot trance beat. Thanks for the helpful and entertaining review, it's much appreciated!

on static by air213
nice drums man - they your own?
theres a bit of clipping in the beggining
The shakers have way too high of a freq, cut that down a little
It's got a good feel to it, no doubt, but just repeats itself after a while - i know its hard to hear inside of producing, but sometimes it's just how it is.
Keep mixing it up to get a real feel of diversity in it, but if you like it this way, the no worries :)
Pce out,
Steve

on MOUNTAN by ShamanStone
Hey bud,
This seems more of a trip hop or dub track not DnB, got some good bass in it though. Variety caan be added a little more but maybe its just me. Hah, can absolutely tell it was made in Fl - that falnger is very noticable.
Keep it up

Thank you so much for the review and I think you are right about the genre variations. I changed it to techno...maybe a better fit...ow yea all the music I make is on a modded version of audacity, So that flanger is actually a ripped off plug-in.

on depths by ShamanStone
Hey Eeevilleomadayus,
I think there's a bit of mastering needed. The synth is a little weak, and the beats are as well; they seem muffled, try eq it a little more maybe it'll help.
Keep it up, practise will help your productin :0

on speed by Vovka
I Vovka,
The drums are nicely done, but the synth thorughout just doesn't seem to go with what you mixed in the song... the bass is way too low and it needs a little more variation. Other than that the song is well done and has a nice volume.
Keep it up :)

on Soul Juice (feat. the oj's) by Teksketch
Remixes can be quiet a difficult task but I think overall you did a pretty good job. First drop was a little late but I think you kicked it good.
All I'd have to say is that if you add some reverb to some of the loops it doesn't give it a "cliff drop" effect where it just stops; at least give it time to drift.
ANyways good tune man, keep it up!
God Bless

on Dawntreader ( retouch) by sn76
Nice intro with the drum cuttin, Bass is good man (reverb goes nicely as well) but not enough bass man. Ovverall man 9 out 10. There's diversity but just lacking a bit of it. Just a little more and you'd have hit it right on, IMO.
Keep it up man,
God Bless

on Eshar- Still Tribal (DVs Angry Ants rmx) by DonnieVyros
Not used to this kind of music - kind of all over the place, but i guess it's what it is when working with loops eh? Nonetheless got a good vibe going, it's pretty constant throughout.
Keep working on!
Steve

DonnieVyros replied Unknown
Yeah, a good percentage of this was loop based (save for the intro bass stuff and drums I rolled for this). And the all-over-the-place feel this has was my way of trying to encapsulate a global sense of the word 'tribal' in the title, but in a modern sense, ya know? Anyways, glad ya dug it. Later on!

on Mixed Nuts (possible guitarist collab) by DonnieVyros
Drums mate are exqusite! You do em live - cause they sound it? Pad is real nice, and bass goes nicely with the entire song. Nothing wrong with it just needs a guitarist in there!
Good on yah mate,
Keep it up :)
Steve
DonnieVyros
DonnieVyros replied Unknown
Thanks mate, naw they were loops of one of my progs. Started laying them out first and then went back n added the bass. The pads were a last minute addition, because I was originally trying to make a whole track here, but 2 things held me back- I can't really play guitar all that well and the progs I own have crap guitar loops. So I added the pads to add atmosphere and figured I could throw this up for other guitarists to play with. Glad ya dug it. Later on!

Kind of a strange mix but I think every track has potential so if you're enjoying how it sounds then continue if not, remake and retune or whatever you think needs to be done!

on Play Your Heart by KAMPUTERA
lol so whats with the pops in the beginning?
Phaser works nice, vocals are a little soft and need to be brought to the front a little. There's a little distortion over the whole track - unless that was the plan?
Voice was nicely used man - instrument like :)
Keep it up bruv :)
God Bless

Appreciate the review. The recording is rough. I had so many ideas at the time that I decided to run with the moment. New ideas kept coming and I kept pressing myself. Playing all the parts can be trying as feeling against or with yourself can be quite the hectic compromise. I was satisfied with what I created. I'll then grow from what I conjured, become a fan and then play it better than that guy who created it. "Making that Stranger my Friend" :)

on valve by Verge
nice intro lots of flavor
drop could of had a little more umph to it but was still good
Bass is a little different and the end is pretty sick but ends kind of suddenly like there should have been an ending of some sort
I don't know, maybe it's just me, but other than that it was a ood track, lots of potential!
God Bless and keep it up!

on HORNET by sn76
freeware is a beautiful thing
wow - quick start - like the acid sounding wobs gives it a sick sound
some of the drum tracks are a little distorted - maybe turn them down a little
After a while the structure becomes a little too repetitive but then you brought it back to the pad good goods in there
Great track man, lots of potential - try to bring a little more variation in the bass drops/sections - other than that keep it up man

on Labyrinth Of Dreams by TechnoMike
nice feel on the atmosphere
You know, in DnB it's really quiet hard finding the combination of kicks, snare, hi hat and shaker to ultimately blend with the bass pad and effects of the tune, but it seems you got this down nicely.
Keep it up man, you can only can get better

on Bump Bump (loop showcase 2) by DonnieVyros
good track, nice production, lots of fade ins and outs gives it a reoccurring feeling of something, i dunno what, but like you seen something in the corner of your eye then look and theres nothing. lol just the feeling i got from it :)
Weird but again nothing wrong with that!
Keep it up man,
God Bless

DonnieVyros
DonnieVyros replied Unknown
Yeah, the in-and-out part came from the way I rolled the bass loops. I put the rest in to fit that vibe. Spent alotta time doin the constant fades on the drums since about March (my lil experiment for the year). The bass was built on a basic idea of having a constantly flowing sequence (with all 32 blocks filled in). Glad ya dug it. Later on!

on nicotine by mouko
nice beginning man
amen breaks are always wicked starts to a DnB track man
Hit this one hard eh? good times always a time and place for it :D
I may be pointing out the obvious but it seemed like you were a little out of motivation? Kinda repetative at the end but I think a little compression and eqing is maybe needed?
Good overall score, but i'd try making it a little more tight, i dunno, i've just been liking the really tight fast tracks lately, heavy!
Keep it up man,
