Hi HU,well this track floats my boat! I love funk big time. Great feel and playing ( or is it loops). Anyway, mix and balance are spot on as is the production, very clean and polished.

Hi FK, What I truly dig is the totally live sound you produce. Music like this needs edges to give it that gritty quality, and this is first class grit (if you get my drift).

on The Black in Blue by Planetjazzbass
Hi Dave, it's always a pleasure to play on one of your tracks. This song has such a chilled vibe, it's the kind of track you hear being played in one of those funky shops you seem to stumble across while on holiday. The ones that sell loads of cool clothes and strange furniture that's always owned by a wacked out hippy dude.. I love your production, it always has real depth and richness. Please feel free to bounce stuff my way at any point, I just dig these vibes..

Ahhh....I knew there was a demographic out there for me somewhere! lol..Man you have no idea how close that description parallels this dude I met in Amsterdam in the 70's...except underneath his shop in the basement he was running a virtual boutique drug business!...and when someone touched his front door knob ..lights flashed in the basement..Ooh that's as good as an admission I was down there! lol..thanks for the woodwind mate..your an inspiration.... cheers Dave

on sick track by bete
Hi bete, I like the sounds man! Nice! The production is nice and clear, with all the instruments and vocal levels balanced well.Is it me or does it end a bit sudden? It's still a great track even though it is short. The song I've just posted is only 2 mins! It's called Get a grip...

Really great production... It sounds super through my hifi. Everything sits well in the mix, and the main synth sound is a groovy line to knit the whole thing together. I like big time...

on PLANET OF THE AMPS by RonGallagher
High five man!!!! I love rock it's great. This track makes me want to stick a marrow down my pants, run into the Doctors and make some of the elderly patients faint with the size of my part...lol... Great track Voltage! I love your guitar playing. I wish I could rock out like you can. I would play naked, with only the guitar covering my bits. The only problem with that scene is it would have to be a big guitar. I can't afford a Gretsch country gentleman just yet lol....

on Cantus Ranocchio by n0mad23
Super intro and swamp rhythm. It's like a ethnic mix of cultures from around the world all having a jam, I can dig that vibe..
Totally original creation, I have never heard anything like this before, I think you have created your very own genre, but what can it be called....???? How about Frog rock instead of Prog rock! Yeah I will call it that Frog rock.. Great stuff.. Do you need webbed feet to join in?

Cheers Slap...
n0mad23
n0mad23 replied Unknown
Thanks Slap - "Frog Rock" works, though I'm thinking "n0madick Jungulation" might be more appropriate to the genre I'm exploring currently. You know - I love this site specifically because of the encouragement there is from real artists in trying out new things. It's a bit daunting always dancing to the beat of your own drummer, but it's reviews like this that give me license to keep going. Webbed feet are helpful for dancing to this jam, however I've found that hip-wader rubber boots will suffice in a pinch. Cheers, and thanks for adding this one to your faves - that is the ultimate nod of encouragement in my book.

on How stupid men can be by FrenchKid18
Hi FK, I love songwriters who write good songs with catchy melodies that stick in your head. You have both in this offering. Great track! I found myself singing along in the second chorus, which means I'm hooked. Good clear production means all can be heard, and the mix sits pretty. I like the harmonies, again something which is very effective in getting my attention.
10/10 from me on this one...

Hi Dave, In a word, EPIC. This song is so chromatic. There is so many colours, textures and layers to it, it's like a big groovy jazz funk cake filled with lots of great rhythm and melody.
The production is mind blowing!!! It's an amazing track and sound...

Hey Steve..I occasionally take a stroll from the diatonic path..lol..this had a lot of separate elements in it which I know you've had experience with..I think I might keep things a little less cluttered in the future..I've since remastered this and tried to get a little more separation and clarity in the mix..cheers mate..oh,by the way I've got a tune in my head with your name on it!..Dave :)

THANK U SLAP! // UPDATED - NOW this starts with just Mike's and my vocal part - then it plays all the vocals together, then it plays just the synthetic vocals with the instrumental - dance part is off the track until I tidy it up a bit -- :D

Man, a fave from Slap is about as great a compliment as a person can get here! I was hoping you'd hear this one at some point, as it features my homemade finger piano as the bass. There's something about playing music on an instrument you've built that's rather special. So glad you dig this one. Cheers!

Hi Bud, one word Epic! This is quality work of the highest standard, I just hope more of this community listen and learn from this song on all the levels it has to offer. The songwriting is superb, as are the vocals. The instruments are all played to a professional standard, and the production again is truly inspirational...
This has to be the best song I have heard on this site for a long time.. Well done to all involved. Those with an ego can jump off a bridge when this stuff is played that's for sure... Please upload more...

Thank you Slap - that 10 minute challenge got me over 2 full weeks of total blockage. I'm currently checking out some of your loops for prospective tweakage and I'm blown away at what a sample resource you are! Cheers - Sean.

Hi Dubz, send me the track without the synth sax and i will add a real horn to it.. I have sent you a message with my mail addy... I like the upbeat feel to this track considering the subject matter. I gather Gigzy was a bit of a cheecky chappy, only the good die young so they say! I'm sorry to hear about your loss, but it's great you have made such a positive track...

Thank you, That means allot coming from you. I am new to looperman and your loops stand out as the top of the top. I have been listening to your loops now for a few days and I am very excited about using them on upcoming tracks. Can I contact you about an Alto solo I need? Im looking for a short Bowie type solo between an F and G chord rotation at about 70 bpm...any ideas?

Thanks again for the positive review!

Elevated! Great lift music as you say. Nice progression and melody, this is indeed a happy song. I have to congratulate you on this creation in 10 minutes, it really is a catchy tune...

I really enjoyed throwing something together so quickly. Since I had to do everything live, it threw a huge wrench in my normal process. Instead of trying to force my work into 4 and 8 bar loops, I just... had fun. I think it worked out better, musically speaking, than my normal method.

In short, I think I might write the initial versions of my new songs like this. Your "daft idea" opened a new door for me; thanks for putting such an interesting breakout idea.
