Wowza, well cool! You have arranged this one perfectly 10/10. It's great to hear this level of work here on looperman, I have to congratulate you and Randall on a sterling job...
Hey Slap thanks for listening and the favorable comments. Also thanks for posting all those harmonica loops. I got them all so another Harmonica tune will be out in the future! Randall882 did take this baby up several notches!! Thanks for the review and your youtube video was awesome!! Fila
Hi, The intro is very Mike Oldfield (Tubular bells/the omen). I like the beat and the string arrangements. The track has a very well produced sound to it. Nice bass drum thumping out those rhythms... I feel you know need a melody/vocal line to make this track sit where it belongs. On top of the pile!
Hi Dave, well I think you know pretty much by now, that I will always jump aboard any mode of transport offered by your good self. I just love your bass style and sound. It's infectious!!! I also love your arrangements and productions, so my job was again the easiest of tasks. I hope you like the clarinet at the end....
Hey Man (Ali)..cool job!..it hadn't escaped my attention in fact ever nuance you bring to a track never ceases to blow me away...The imagery of this piece takes me to the 1965 Elvis Presley film Harum Scarum..or something similar(those films had a profound affect on a young adolescent planet..not the acting or music..but the endless bevy of babes prancing around!)..I wonder if we had of fronted the film set and laid this groove down whether we would have got the gig?..MrE would be the perfect percussionist for the clip..we'd have to work around Elvis though! lol..cheers mate and here's to more music in the future.. Dave :)
Hi Mr Johnny G, as you know I'm a huge blues fan (Joe Bonamassa is my number 1 listen at the moment), this is a great song true to the blues. Strong lyrics, proper harp playing, original vocal = top tune in my book....
Hi Johnny, totally original track! I love the lyrics man, you can't beat the odd swear word to get the message across. I like the drum sound (nice and tight). Love the ending!!!
thanks slap this was an oldie but a goodie! redid to upload on springer.com but I didn't make the top ten! but still an all time favorite amongst friends and family!...........thanks for the killer review!
Hi Dennel, how have I missed your work? This is as smooth as silk my friend! Super guitar and bass work, and the groove is so Steve gadd!! Wonderful feel... I feel we should do a collaboration on something like this, or if you have this song without the sax part I will add some new tailored riffs...
Why Slap, that's a big plus coming from you! For some reason I assumed that you heard this track before? Though these were "edited loops" of you playing, I was able to get the feel I was looking for. But now since you've mentioned it, if you would like to redo the track I'd be delighted to send you the tracks to add your personal touch to. And trust me, I'm your biggest fan lol. So glad you dug it peace. P.S. yeah Steve Gadd was definitely a helluva studio drummer.
Wowza! This is a very well produced track!!!! I love the intro, amazing sound! Holly's voice is as pure as snow, and works really well in this arrangement. 10/10...
As for mouthpiece's on tenor, Dave Guardalla Michael Brecker 2, alto, Dave Guardalla RnB king, Soprano,Berg Larsen ebonite and baritone, lawton 8 star....
Your one crazy man Johnny! I love that avatar you have, Magnum PI does Monty pythons holy grail lol,,.. Anyway, this is a great twist on Barrys track. I love the concept, the noodling blues guitar licks, and the whole telephone thing is genius....
Thanks for the killer review slap it just seemed right to include Rita hottie in this track! she had so much fun throwing this down it was silly! more to come I swear!...............G.
Hi Dv, now this is sounding real smooth! If I new you were going to add a vox I would have left some more space, but Ben didn't mention vocals at the time of conception lol... Anyway, well written and well sang and also well recorded vocals.....
HI Slap, I really feel priviliged to do a track with good talents like both of you,I new Ben eas lookin for some lyrics a song for a special someone he said..so I came out with these lyrics and of course the track with your playin made it easier for me..i played it over and over and just singing the words just came out..a little Barry white style..too bad it wasnt longer..cause im sure i could have it played at the local station here..anyways thanks for the collab..it was great..peace Dvibe
Hi bolo, total gangsta sound! A very well produced track. The rhyme is clear and well arranged with the fx to add an extra quality.. Nice strings and things 10/10...#
i know that he lyrics are probably outside what you would normally listen to, but i had fun making this 1 and i think thats whats most important. thanks for the listen and review
Hi sircle, this is a great track! Your arrangement creates interest and your production is very clear with depth. If you want to do a collaboration with me, please contact me when you have a track....
Hi, You have arranged and nice track here. It would be interesting to know what you have played yourself,as it seems from your profile you are a talented lady. Your production is nice and crisp and loop choices are first class...
Hello!!! It is magnificent review!! Thank you very much. One of my songs you can find here it's call "For my Hero"...here it like an acoustic, and i make it myself at home, But in the real life we play it more like acoustic and metall together.
But in real life i try to work with different styles, I sing in acoustic with 2 guitarists, also sing in hard metall band, also work at studio like back vocal for fame people, and also help many other sides, from Rap till Metall, everything is interesting for me! And my favorite to sing the best world hits, sometimes people ask me to sing covers in the party,( a program for 2 or 3 hours )
thank you again:)
Nice intro, it really sets the flavour! What I like more than anything is this tracks authenticity, I mean it sounds spot on. Who needs effect laden tracks, when you can have this true piece of real music, played by a bluesman... Respect! May see you down at the crossroads...
Hey Slap thanks for the review and coments and thanks for posting them loops!! That was part two. The last part wil be them gus finish eating then really kick them slab on the porch. lol Thanks again! Fila
Hi kook, I could imagine this one being used in a game or film.. It's got a great pulse! Your production is top as is the arrangement.. Good to have you back amongst us...
Yo werter, wow man that's some mean guitar playing. I like the arrangement and the use of the loops you have used. A very original sound and creation...
Hi Dave, I really dig the mood you have created in this track, it's totally original! The first thing to strike me after the wonderful intro was your bass playing and the sound it has. Wow man that's a sound... I can imagine a lot of players would love to get that sound. The song sounded full and vibrant before I added the soprano ( a kid didn't turn up for a lesson, so I did it then. That's the beauty of carrying the stuff around with you. You can record anywhere). I really love the atmosphere, so I just played and hopefully left enough space for the track to breath...
Thank you for the invite to play on something so beautiful..
Hey Steve..that's amazing man!..technology is a wonderful servant in the hands of a great musician like yourself..it never ceases to blow me away, great playing mate, just what the Doctor ordered!..hey when you eventually see the kid that didn't turn up give him my regards.. lol..I sort of feel that I should pay for his next lesson seeing as I benefited so much from his absence..lol..a lovely story!.. cheers mate Dave :)
Hi Lato, well here I am as promised listening to your rhymes.
Great feel to this track, wonderful bass drum thumping through. I also like the different voices you have in this one, it creates interest and really helps the great flow of this track. Your production is crystal clear, all vocals/lyrics can be heard, which let's face it, is a really important feature in a track of this genre.. 10/10 my friend...
Interesting intro sounds create immediate interest. I like the synth and string arrangements, they work very well together. Your production is clear (all parts can be heard), all you need to finish this is a melody floating over the top... Good work!
Hey Man! Firstly welcome to the place to be. I have to congratulate you on your production. The voice/lyrics are crystal clear, so all can be heard and understood. Nice tight arrangement, with a dark groove. 10/10...
Hi Rashid, Wow man this is a great track. The rhythm is so infectious and you have some amazing percussion going on. I can't fault the production / arrangement. Your city has to be proud of this effort, it must be a vibrant place to live and I hope one day I can visit such a place...
Thank you so much Sir,
An encouragement from A great Artist like you is always an asset for me.
i really respect and thankful to you for listening and reviewing my track.
i'll come to you soon back with some ideas if you allow me.
and i wish one day you visit to my city Karachi and that will be the most fantastic day of my life.
Best regards
Rashid
Cool beat/groove. I like the sparse bassline! Sometimes space is good, it allows the lyric to breath and for listener to digest what's being said. It sounds like the vocal is distorted slightly. Maybe this is the effect you wanted. If it wasn't then I'd say invest in a condenser mic. The MXL range are super...
Also bring the vocal up in the mix, you sound like a great lyricist and rapper, bring it more forward. The track it's self is solid. Great foundation for the extras on top, maybe as deadcult suggests some horn work would be cool, I have loads on my loops page...But all that said, you should be proud of your developing sound...
