Wow. This is beatiful, Y'all. This is my first comment since the loop has returned. This is just fantastic. The piano is perfect. The vocals sound so lonely. Not really eerie sounding but more depressing/apathetic. I shared a hole in my soul with this one. Great job to both of you!!! Phantasmatic might be an appropriate term. Loved it.

on Welcome To My Slaughterhouse (Demo) by ButcherOfNormality
Very doomy. Anchor like very much. This is the 2nd track of your's I've listened to and it seems we sometimes have similar styles - guitar heavy (lots of chuggin'), slow, and using a lot of dynamics (i.e. soft to loud). Your drummer was probably slinging his/her head! Rock on.
ButcherOfNormality
ButcherOfNormality replied Unknown
yeah he did, but unfortunetely he is no longer my drummer, and i do all the drums myself using Addictive Drums. Which works fine, i have actually gotten quite good with it lol
Glad to hear im not the only metal head!! maybe we could rock a callab together!

Guitar sounds heavy as hell, Bro. This track sounds like it is building to something incredibly massive. You didn't state whether it is unfinished or not but I assume it is because it is very short. Wanna hear the finished version. Keep this stuff coming, Bro. We need more metal musicians on looperman!
ButcherOfNormality
ButcherOfNormality replied Unknown
Thanks dude. I will go back and fix my mistake of not explaining this.
This is the Album intro, and is, as it is now, complete, and leads into the 2nd song, which i have yet to make. So what you said is true "this track sounds like it is building to something incredibly massive" is how i will make it.
Cheers!

You have an excellent voice! First and foremost.

I think the effect or whatever mic you're using is squashing your expression. I think the effect works for the first part of the song but I think you should open it up after say the first few lines and let your voice shine. It makes your voice very quiet in the track (which is something people tell me all the time...that they can't hear me). Now, if you just really like the effect, you might wanna try adding a bit of compression to just your vocals. However, please don't squash your voice with effects because you have power and the voice to push this song through.

BTW: This isn't a typical style that I listen to but I can't stop myself when I hear talent!!! Keep up the good work. Very impressive. Powerful and moving!

I'm gonna have to keep a watch on your tracks section. I agree with bcway. This is totally kickass. Love the more progressive feel of this one but you still keep the doom-metal edge. I've already made this a favorite.

Love the musicianship man. Excellent song. Good sounds as well. The mix needs a little work but other than that, I'm loving it. You put my guitar and piano skills to shame. I'd recommend putting a normalization effect on your tracks to even them to 0dB without peaking and then do your mixdown. That helps me at times. Rock on, Bro.

Thank you for the review. I need as much feedback as possible. I did what you said about normalizing the tracks and it is defiantly improving the mix. Thank you for that piece of info. ( I know little about mastering, levels etc.) Ill post the re-mastered version so you can give me some advice. Thanks again man.

Wicked chops, man. I love the 80's feel. Kind of reminds me of Omen or Iron Maiden. Can't say too much more except that this is well worth the listen.

Doom metal heaven. This one has a kind of Cathedral-like feel to it. You have a fat guitar sound too (Speaking of Les Paul, is that what you're playing in this?). Rock on, Bro.

Very punchy with an industrial metal edge. The screams give it a very aggressive feel as well. My favorite part has to be the strange robotic voice sample. Mixed and arranged expertly. I liked it very much. Rock on!

Your lead screams over this track. I'm kind of at a loss for words but at least we got some more metal heads on looperman.

This one kicks ass as well. Excellent guitar work. I wanna get it and put an angry growl over it. Why are you not signed, Steinaa?

I would love to hear this one with vocals, so sure thing - just let me listen to it when you're done :)
Signed? Well.. heh. There's a shitload of better guitarists than me out there :p
But thanks! :)

I can hear the influence of In Flames in this one. Had me hooked from the first note. I wasn't expecting it. Guitars are tight and the mix is smooth. Awesome work.

Perfect name for this track. Your profile says you've been playing guitar for 2 years so you must practice a lot or just be a natural talent. This is just really good.

thanks a lot! well, not to put myself down or anything, but it sounds good mainly beacuse of the sound i managed to get from the guitar, not really the skill of playing, it wasnt that hard really :D

I come back to the site and immediately wanna see what Moke's up to. This does have a trippy industrial feel. Love the drum sound and the synth is sweet. I've missed out on some crazy music but this is the first I've reviewed in a while. Keep rockin', Moke!!!

I had to hear it and I'm glad I did. I love when people use my stuff because it's rare. I'm not usually popular for my loops but for my big mouth in the forums. lol. If I can get the time I'll post more.

On to the track now: I'm liking the way you shred a loop to fit what you want. The three songs that I know of that use that piano loop have all been rather unique using the same loop. That's why you gotta love this site!!! I have to say this track takes on a gothic persona (I mean that in a complimentary way). Mind you I'm waaaayyy too drunk to write a proper review but I'll be back when my buzz wears off. LOL.

Hell fuckin' yeah!!! Glad to be a part of this track 'cause it rocks bro. I didn't think anybody was really interested in the loops that I made and that's why I don't upload many. You're inspiring me to make some more. : ) That's what I like about your tracks, man. You can take something and make it massive and dynamic. Rock on!

on I fucked you over, metal by gabytron
No one has reviewed this yet?! Fast, aggressive, and different than the usual metal done with acid. The strange vocals left me intrigued. I like how you can take something and butcher it into a strange work of abstract art. That's what metal's all about!

This one is alive! A fantastic industrial/metal jam. An assembly line of pain from start to finish. I haven't heard industrial metal like this since Godflesh's "Streetcleaner". You use loops from here but you have attained a unique sound. Rock on.

on Lover Jump the Q by SLAPJOHNSON
While the term might be over used on some of the most mediocre things...this is beautiful. A perfect track if there ever was. I love the dynamics of the piano and the sultry, smoky sound of Fiona's voice. Simplicity is never a bad thing in music because it is the essence of life. I only wish my 56k connection didn't butcher this track as it did. :( When you guys get signed, I hope you stick to creating this type of art. I am amazed. There are average people who create art (such as me, I think) and there are artists that create art. (like you guys). I'm trying not to force my favorites to specific artists but I'm not gonna set my favs to a criteria. This is a nice ending to my otherwise worthless day.

A 5 out of 5, all the way!

on My blues; Jump the Q by SLAPJOHNSON
ABSOLUTELY PIMP. The mix sounds great. Musicians are all smooth. Reminds me slightly of some old Quincy Jones like funky blues. You don't state what you play on this track but since everyone sounds great, there's no complaint here. Fiona might have won my heart for this track because I love the female voice. I'm not sure who's behind the mix of this track but that also deserves a thumbs up. The snare is crisp, cymbals are perfect (I wish I could do that), vocals are clear on even the most smoky tones. You guys get my respect. This is an amazing track and I'll definitely recommend it to all fans of the blues and funk.

By the way, it's obvious that you're a professional musician by day and night. Keep 'em comin', Bro.

What can I say when I'm mesmerized. I can say that this is fantastic. The guitar riff is what draws my interest the most but it's dance-like vibe is what links it to the title. I've always stated that you should be a signed artist. You're the man Rei. Let me know where I can get your CD.

Good to hear from you again, man. This track is definitely more organized than some of the previous but I like a lot of the stuff you've done. I generally play with this guitar tuning as well so of course I think it's awesome. Nice punishing riffs and the drums are well done. A new one to add to my favorites!
