Smooth. Good song.
Very good work with the keys: the sound you choose is "classic" but interesting at the same time.
Good work,
Looking forward for the next one
Thanks Mrwolf14, i love classic sounds, hardly hear anything that moves people anymore, so i just try to do songs that move the soul, i really appreciate your time and i surly will be posting more music, thanks , Larry
Nice song ... Terrific ;-)
It reminds me a bit of the early 80s pop songs, a very sweet melodies with a delicate arrangement. Well done.
Ciao, Domenico
PS: I refrained from commenting in Italian... but in case you should need a bass track for one of your songs, don't hesitate to PM me in our mother language!
THAT'S SOOOO COOOL!
Outstanding guitar work. Kudos to Jimmy :-)
But you did your part very well: good production, solid bass line with a very consistent sound.
Keep up rocking!
Domenico
There is always some things to adjust after a "final mix" so i am never totally happy with my mixes, you just gotta move on at some point. Lots of effects on the guitars presented a few issues i haven't run into often but after a few mixes things sorta fell in place.
I could not understand a word, of course ;-)
But I find it very pleasant. Your stream of words flows very nicely and the music and the vocal track work very well together.
Interesting!
Thanks for sharing!
Kind regards, Domenico
This song is very "understatement" ... everything is so relaxed and still it have groove.
Well done.
If I have to find a "critique point" ... the rhythm is a bit too "loopy": it would be interesting to hear more of a live feeling on drums and bass.
But I am nitpicking here... great production!
And probably I already told you this some time back, you have a very good voice.
Relaxed but interesting.
Liked.
Ciao, Domenico
I am no hip-hop (nor rap, nor trap for that matter) expert.
Still, I really enjoyed the song.
Maybe if you want make it more "commercial" (whatever this means) the advice from CentralsDev and Danke is a good one: you need a solid chorus. Which you should also highlight with a change (uplift) in the beat IMHO.
Also, your beat would benefit from a bit more "motion" in the bass-line.
Good flow.
Overall, as I said, I really enjoyed the song.
Keep the good work.
Ciao, Domenico
Hey Wolf, Really appreciate you coming out leaving me some feedback
Glad you enjoyed the song - definitely taking all the suggestions here into consideration.
But as this song is relatively older, I have a lot of tracks out since this one that I would love to get your advice on as well, thanks alot for your time.
much love

Good track: short, but this is not a problem. Sometimes it's harder to make a short song than a long one.
Someone else already pointed out how the "beat" and the "rap" are sometimes "fighting each other". This is true to some extent. It may be a stylistic decision, and that's fine. Still there should me more points where the music and the vocals "meet each other".
So... IMHO you are just missing 1 point to go to 10/10.
Keep doing what you like to do: we like to hear it.
Ciao, Domenico
Very good track.
I liked the "offbeat" drums. They add some interest to an already very interesting song.
The piano work is outstanding.
The sax soli flow very well: I am in principle always again "midi-sax" sounds. In this case they are very realistic. Still I may prefer the same solo played with a synth sound (but this is my personal problem: why try to "mimic" a real instrument when you are playing a synthesizer ... which is already a "real instrument"...)
Good song.
And I am glad I discovered your talent.
Thanks.
Take care, Domenico
And this is really groovy!
I should be disappointed by the lack of a "real bass" line, but this is working so good as it is that I cannot!
It makes me think a lot to the soundtrack of the "b-movies" of the 70s (think "blacula")
Great work.
Ciao, Domenico
Wonderful track!
Very bluesy: I like a lot the guitar and bass parts. Very inspired.
...and I totally agree on what you said on the Wolfman: he is a sad and lonely man who does not even deserve the right to shed tears, because he is a fierce creature and nobody will ever imagine how deep his feelings are.
So he goes on singing the blues and playing his bass! ;-)
Take care.
Yours sincerely, MrWolf
Hey Mr.Wolf, I figured you would dig this track man! BTW, did I hear you ran amuck in Kent a while back? Dont worry, your secret is safe with me bro. (Ha ha, Thanks)
Brutal was the right way to describe this.
Not my cup of tea, but I can appreciate the skills involved in this production. It works well in my opinion.
I had to read the lyrics cause I couldn't figure out a single word from the brutal-vocals (my limit... I am not a native speaker).
So, well done... now go and get rid of the corpse before the manhunter comes ;-)
Ciao, Domenico
Wow!
This is an incredibly well made Pop-Punk song.
If we need to look for things which can be improved (but bear in mind, we are nitpicking on an outstanding production here):
- drums (already mentioned, I won't spend much words here) ... even if they're midi, they sound too "polished" for the genre. A minor thing: you did a very good job in programming fills and different rhythms. It works VERY WELL.
- vocal track. In some points we can hear some artifacts (auto tune? phase issues? not sure)... e.g at 0:56
Again: WONDERFUL SONG!
My personal highlight: the guitar, sound and riff are 100% "pro" (if this means anything). Superb. Could not get any better than this.
As I mentioned in previous replies, I had to make the track in under 24 hours so there are, indeed, a lot of flaws with this one lol. I sincerely appreciate the critique, however, because that means you really listened to the song! Peace.
Good work!
I agree with the previous comments... this track sounds good and it's hard to believe that the vocal track was done "before".
Everything works fine.
Busy drum line (typical 70s drumming I would say), good guitar sound and solid playing.
Enjoyed.
Ciao, Domenico
Dear Mr Orlando,
Definitely you can stay relaxed since there's no need for you to change style. You are very good at what you do!
Beautiful song.
I like how the rhythm section is "in the background" and let the piano and guitar shine. The string part is creating a nice "change" in the song.
Special appreciation to the subtle work the strings are doing when accompanying the piano (e.g. ~1:50): I like when there are so many little details in a "simple" song like this.
You are a real master.
Take care, Domenico
Really glad to read such a generous review and some very encouraging words. Also nice to know there are still people
who appreciate a kind of music that is pretty much out of predominant trends of today. Thank you so much my friend !
Nice track.
I think it can work fine on a dance floor, less for listening.
The rhythm is good and all the instruments make a nice layer, but maybe it lacks an element of interest to catch the ear of the listener.
Again, I imagine this could work well for a dance crowd.
And probably that was the target.
So, well done!
Ciao, Domenico
Chill out is a perfect description for this track.
The vocal part is interesting enough to keep everything glued together.
Nice textures: I like the synth sounds you use and the piano is a nice touch.
Overall a great piece of music.
Well done!
Ciao, Domenico
I could not understand much of the lyric, but the text flows nicely and overall it is well produced.
I understand from your previous comment that the vocal tracks were not "as good as they should be" but I believe you did overall a good job.
The track content is more in the bass region but it works.
Only question to you: are you intending to change the ending?
It sounds a bit "abrupt" at the moment. I think it deserves more.
Take care, Domenico
Cool! Happy Lounge music: usually this type of music tends to have less of an "happy positive feeling" but your bass line here simply makes me happy and wanting to dance.
Ciao, Domenico
Superb!
Production, composition, arrangement, choice of sounds, everything at the highest possible levels. Simply perfect.
The "fil rouge" is the bass-pattern which flows under the other instruments for the whole song, constant and "beating" like the time that flows (vampires story here, we speak about centuries not years).
Piano work is probably what stands out but the whole arrangement is of the finest.
You are a real talent!
Ciao, Domenico
Good track!
I would not put it into any "category" ... but if forced to, I would say that it should have "progressive" and "dark" into the name.
Ciao, Domenico
Dominico, how are you? It’s not often that you comment on my work, so when you do, I take it as an honor. Especially when you leave kind words. Thank you!
Hi MrNomad,
I was looking for something interesting to hear, then I thought, let's have a look at MrNomad's archive... there must be something there.
And I found this nice little gem: lot of words already spent on this, so I'll keep it short.
I like your work on the cello: you are a talented guy and you make a creative use of all the instruments you play. You deserve some real respect.
The song is nice: good, but not the best one. I wouldn't dare to say that it is "boring" (no way) but it somehow lacks some "peaks".
I would even consider shortening the "middle part" and make your guitar enter the scene a bit earlier.
But of course, nothing will be changed: this song can stay in its current form, it will still be enjoyed and you will use your time for the next one.
As usual: outstanding work.
Ciao, Domenico
PS: being Italian my mother language, I did not find the title word so "strange"... maybe I am missing something.
Yes, it's worth going through the Nomad archive if you're looking for something interesting to hear, especially as you haven't been on the site much in the last year.
"You deserve some real respect."
I get a bit but I can always do with more - especially in real life (rather than just online). We're all the same!
"The song is nice: good, but not the best one."
I agree. Pleasant and interesting but not amazing. A bit more minimal, for a change. The peaks are probably 1:14-2:25. That lead cello part is quite exciting, I find.
"make your guitar enter the scene a bit earlier."
No guitar here. You probably think it's guitar at 3:26 because I'm playing the cello with a guitar pick - something I very rarely do as it's a bit awkward to do. But it does give a different sound. Much more like guitar.
"I would even consider shortening the "middle part""
I like that section. It's quite mystical and trippy.
The title is a word I made up. A cross between 'translucent' and 'lucid'.
Here are two tracks you will prefer from the Nomad archive. First is a long, mystical blues track with lots of guitar. And bass. Deep chill and groovy blues:
Hi MrNoTahs,
Your little something is very nice :-)
I like the drum-loop you used: well produced, with a good depth in the kit.
Wise use of the vocals, the male/female create the right contrast and you highlighted the different characters with your eq/production.
Very good.
Hope to hear soon the "complete" version.
