In the first grade I used to love to climb up the inside of the fire escape slide tube, so I could slide back down. In the fourth grade, my friend and I would sit on the hot blacktop road and pop bubbles in the tar, or we would sneak out to the abandoned coal mines, to explore. In high school, I had no idea how pretty or cool I actually was because I was wasting so much time trying to be pretty or cool. In college, I drank alcohol every day and then wondered why I was so depressed. I also read a lot of great books. And pretended to read even more (hence the English degree). These days I enjoy the heck outta Seattle. I love the smell of the rain in the fall, the scent of dirt and bark and change in the air. And then I love the warmth and light of early spring, cherry blossoms exploding and exposing their pink bellies to the returning sun. I adore playing with paper and scissors and glue and paint. Last year I learned how to handbind books. I dance for pleasure. I volunteer. I give gratitude. I hug. I eat more olives than one person probably should, and I am convinced that this habit is going to add years to my life, despite the fact that I had cancer this year. I'm also distressed that there's someone on here who uses the moniker Anomaly (Jones). But she seems cool and I am NOT changing mine. I've been Anomelie since the Jean-Pierre Jeunet film was popular. Oh yeah, and my mom hates this profile picture. Anyway, that's a bit about me. If you want to know more, you can ask.
None, really. I've had a tiny bit of piano & a bit of singing. But can't really do either very well.

Each song has a life and sound of its own; each song is a story. And I don't usually try for a particular genre. I let the song tell me what it wants to be as I create it. I think of myself as a song-knitter. I take colorful threads of sound and weave them together into a bigger design. But I don't usually spin my own yarn yet. Rarely. I'd like to do more of that, once I get settled and can set up the midi keyboard I have.
