Description : A funky little rock/latin/jazz instrumental groove with tidbits of
vocal riffs. This is based on a song I wrote years ago called
"Young World". I like the way the guitar kinda floats above the
accompaniment.

Description : Patience...like waiting for a son to grow up. Dedicated to my mom, who I wish I had met.
A slow, soft, ambient drift of a tune.

Description : A bit defeated by the community I moved my family to a decade ago, we packed the car and we're headed out of town...a little sad, but respectful too.
Props to SlapJohnson for the excellent sax work. The tune was basically composed around his melody. I added all the other instruments, some real and some midi, in GarageBand. There's some Looperman choir loops in there...not sure who.
The the song came together in an evening, but the final details were painfully worked out over the course of many hours of sitting at the computer. Did the best with what limited equip/software I have.

Description : I'm a sucker for lazy, syncopated rock grooves. This started with a drum loop I chopped and a simple guitar bit. I
added the girls, and finally the wiggly guitar riffs.
I was thinking about the bad things in life we try to fight, but can't control. The 'difference' is the love we show when things go bad. That's the stuff we need to save.

Description : so many years ago, my dorm at the Univ. of Michigan had this tiny reading room filled with donated books. One of them was Bhowani Junction by John Masters. I wrote the tune from the perspective of Victoria, the central character in the book. I put together a version in GarageBand that's pretty faithful to the original cassette/reel-to-reel version from so many years ago. I finally got around to throwing my vocals on there, which I don't normally do.

Description : Latin-rock groove that started out as a slow, moody acoustic guitar/vocal tune. Lots of percussion layers, a prominent guitar lead, brass and back vocal kicks, etc. This is all done at the MBP in GarageBand.
