Description : My first hip-hop track featuring my boy Sonik and other friends. beats from Probangers, Logic/Garage Band. Sonik is on the mic, he is the rapper and I am not into rap.
Description : This is a piece about my emotional state when I reconnected with my son, whom I have been denied access to for six years. I thought the violin would be the perfect voice to tell the story, but my heart chose the piano instead.
Description : This is a piece about the resilience of the human spirit in hard time (Hurricanes Katherine, Sandy, Haiti earthquake, stock market crash etc we still move on and carry on). It is dedicated to MStokes for reminding me, through his outstanding works here on Looperman, that music is a language and we need to tell stories. The whole piece was done on Logic.
Description : This is the sound of the KwaZulu Natal South Coast, where I grew up. It is Zulu with a tinge of the Amabhaca (part of the Pondo tribe) sound as the South Coast is where Pondoland met KwaZulu, and our dilect reflects this as well.
I first wrot ethe lyrics and as I was humming under my breath, the music came (first the rhytm, then I added the lead). I hope you enjoy it. I gave it a bluesy feel.
Description : This is a West Africa meets the West (Europe)track. I have used the West African sound as the foundation and brought in traditional Irish strings and French horns.
Description : This is South Africa's homegrown dance sound. the genre is known as Kwaito. My kids challenged me to make a kwaito track for them, and this is it. They LOVED it!
Description : It all started off as a crazy idea where I wanted to have five pianos play in one track, then in the middle of it I said what if I added screaming rock guitars, what if...and this track was born.
Description : My frist trance attempt and it sounds great, even if I say so myself. I kept it clean and added good old scratching (Hip Hop style). Enjoy and tell me what you think.
Description : In this Zulu piece I tried to bring back the old traditional Mbhaqanga sound (a genre within the Zulu traditional music. It's a very "busy" type of music, high tempto with hectic drums & percussions and repetitive rhythm guitars. some people ad keyboards, bass and just about any instrument they like. there are no limits or limitations). Vocals and guitar is all me.
Description : I had fun with multiple loops from Looperman and created this dance piece. I was just messing around and I liked what came out. respect to all of you whose loops I used! enjoy.
