Inspired by the poem "Ueber die Heide" (Theodor Storm, Husum/Germany 1875), which I encountered for the first time at the age of about 5 to 6 years and which deeply impressed me; and very especially the last two verses of this poem:

“Waer ich hier nur nicht gegangen im Mai!
Leben und Liebe - wie flog es vorbei!”

Description : Music should not make the world more aggressive, but touch the good, the beautiful in man. Because the evil comes by itself, but the good we have to take care of ourselves! Every single one of us - also you!

And we are consistently destroying this paradise with an asocial ruthlessness as if we could buy a new one....

Description : "Deutsche Schwermut", "deutscher Weltschmerz", "deutsche Romantik" are terms familiar to every German.

And with them also the peculiar melange which results from this "triad" for the german individual as well as the collective emotional household of a whole country.

Perhaps one finds oneself - without any national attitude - nowhere more in one's Germanness than here; with me it is certainly so...
