Oh yeah, majorly groovy jam you did here! Love the tone and vibes throughout! You've really shown how versatile you are. The only late night bar scenes I've been a part of were rock and stuff like that, so I can't really judge the atmosphere, but it sounds pretty live to me. Reading about breaking your picking nail was entertaining, I too am not a fan of picks, especially on acoustic guitar and bass. Read something way back giving advice to cut your left hand nails short and leave your right hand nails a little longer... obviously for a right handed person... heh... I've been doing that pretty much constantly since then even when I let my guitars collect dust for years at a time. Any way, jammin tune, Love it! Fave!
Mate this is one very relaxing and chillout piece, loving the guitar, have to agree with other comments, does give it a Spanish vibe, which is very enjoyable on the ears, very smooth sound to it, something you could poss here in a cafe etc, one stunning piece of work, if still had FAV button would hit it straight away when it started...totally digging it...Peace Mos....
Hey Esti.....thanks man,I have to remember you've changed your name now! haha (well actually your one of the few people that can do it without having to break the new one in! lol)...cheers mate, much appreciated Dave :)
This is absolutely Smooooth! Brilliant! So much technique yet so relaxing and not so demanding on the ear which yields a perfect musical balance. I love this piece Dave!
Nicely done Dave. Just as skilled on six small strings as you are on 4 fat ones, haha. I have to say this was a bit like having Thomas Dutronc on the nylon. Absolutely stellar work. As good as your six string work is, I still love to focus on your bass work. Smooth, smooth, smooth.
This was a wonderful way to start my day, a great cup of coffee and an even better song. Thanks for that. I hope all is well.
Damn, sorry for the late reply mate...thank you very much Bear!...I just managed to crack my index finger's guitar pick nail(that I cultivate, seeing as I hate plectrums...damn! lol)..now I have to grow it again!(double damn) cheers Dave :)
man ...im so glad i stopped by to listen to you...you definitely know your venues..nice intimate club vibe going on here...your bass and nylon textures fit perfectly..and great production by you...and the band members in your mind..truly a great peice of work....Much respect
Aah! Now that nylon is something! Very smooth! I loved the bass sound and what's going on with the ride's and cymbals is fantastic, now that's some attention to detail I'd like to hear more often.
The overall sound was a bit dark for my taste but it works extremely well by setting the listener in a pub where there is a live performance going on.
I don't know if you have latin roots of you've just had a glass of red wine but that acoustic is smooth and intimate as it should be.
Hey Malu thanks man!..actually I do have 1% Latin(Spanish) blood from my Grandmother's side I've been told.hehe.....You know it's interesting, when I start a project I'm visualising it in a particular setting and obviously attempt to make it sound so......However I've pretty much come to the conclusion that musicians don't make the best sound engineers!lol..that is unless they've been successful enough to employ professionals and learnt the ropes from them through association over the years....thanks mate,I always appreciate your insightful comments!..cheers Dave :)
I'm not a fan of jazz but this is pretty damn amazing work.
Perfect mixture of vibrancy and chill that would sound great in a small club atmosphere. Love the nylon hook but the bass is what gets me; very groovy. Whether you physically played all those instruments yourself or input them on the piano roll (I'm guessing the former), it all sounds very skilled and even more so because it flows nicely together. There are no clashes or mismatched harmonies.
Hi MissE (Australians invariably shorten people's names,it's in our short term attentive convict DNA or something)..Guilty as charged your Honour..yep I played all the instruments!lol...the only piano rolls I have are in a box somewhere (I do own a pianola)haha.....thanks very much for the listen, very much appreciated!..cheers Dave :)
Hi Dave
It is really extraordinary. how inspirations merge into a complex whole. Your melody creates impulses that shoot through my brain neurotransmitters. A new chemical is released, and has quickly become the drug. A tribute to the quality of your work. There is always a pleasure to me to listen to your music.
Thank you Dave
CHEERS DETLEF
Hey Detlef thank you my friend..got to watch those chemical levels man! lol...sometimes making music is a journey into the past, after listening to this track while replying to your review I remember listening to my father's jazz records when I was a boy..I think we all get imprinted early on in some fashion and little bits always come out later...thanks again mate...music is life! cheers Dave :)
the intro/outro locks me like a needle into these grooves - circular and madly progressive - truly creates a time out of time and all that happening and informed vinyl space - 45 out of 10 - amazing travels, Dave
Great piece. A delight for the ears. One of the biggest attractions is that you can see every slight movement of the instruments. I put the whistles and applause. Wonderful from start to finish.
Hey Vicen, thanks mate!..you are too kind,I do like the small three piece band sound and as you rightly say the dynamics can be noticed easily, there's not a lot of clutter which can happen in big ensembles...cheers mate Dave :)
As it happens I'm drinking a rather large Bundy and coke as I write. It seems to fit perfectly with the atmosphere you have created with this track. A little smokey lounge with the trio in the corner. Very good indeed. Love that double stopping on the acoustic (Wes Montgomery was a hero of mine) and your bass lines are just great. It absolutely wraps me up. Lovely sound on the nylon strings too. Excellent stuff. Really enjoyed it. Thank you.
Hey Richie..thanks mate!..aahhh yes the ol' Wes double stops, takes me back to when I was a kid and had a few guitar lessons, and I asked the guy how can I sound like Wes and Kenny Burrell...he replied "about 20 years practice wouldn't hurt!" lol..but he did show me how to do double stops!..if only I had taken his advice and put guitar nose to grindstone..sigh...man I haven't had a Bundy and coke in decades, one would put me on my arse! lol...thanks for listening mate, much appreciated. cheers Dave :)
Bravo Dave....the way the whole composition, instrumentation, playing & delivery comes together on this one it outa sight good..the nylon string & playing style do give it a touch of that Spanish air (I notice that a nylon string almost invites you to do that when you pick it up....though I haven`t done that in a long while)...superb playing & expression and I think you accomplished the space you were looking for...I mcould listen to this one for a long time, so thanks for the DL...goes on my mp3 player right away...Ed
Hey Ed thanks mate!...when a guitarist tells a bass player his six string playing is ok it really makes his day I can tell you!...ages ago I used to play with these guys and was always hassling the guitarist to let me play his Tele,I used to lengthen the strap a little, get an open legged stance and pretend to be 'Keef' Richards! LOL..now I never play from the hip..haha.....thanks again mate! cheers Dave :)
really diggin this piece dave. really high quality sound all around. I would definitely agree it has a lounge/club type feel. There might be a little latin flair in there too. enjoyed it the whole way through. much respect!
Hey mate..glad you enjoyed the groove!Jose Feliciano I ain't but I love the tone of nylon stringed guitar,it's got that warmth of timbre..cheers and thanks again for listening
Dave :)

==============
Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : I had to go in on this track. This is a future bass, electrofusion song. I posted the full version here full the Looperfam because you guys give me sooooo much support. I can never thank you all enough.
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
Description : A spoopy song, early for Halloween. This was a collaboration with Micky, who did most of the work.
A musical realization of a poem by Thomas Hardy
Idea: Spearcarrier
Voices: Spearcarrier & Micky
Music: Micky
Genre: We don't know yet. Suggestions welcome. LOL
Description : Real acoustic, electric and bass guitars played by me. Drums are loops and programmed MIDI. Played piano and synths. Lots of layers and delay. A gated moog, organ, my recorded finger-snaps and a reversed bass guitar effect that sounds like throat-singing. Three movements, divided by moments of calm. Thoughts and feedback are welcome.
Description : Return To Forever was a group that started my love of fusion jazz and this is my attempt to cover their 1976 track, “The Romantic Warrior. I know I wore out several inceptions of this album from LP, cassette and 8 track. The original track was over 10 minutes long, so I abridged it some. Hope you like and download.
Description : A moroccan traditional song from 70s titled "Toudart" which means "Life" in Moroccan berber/Tamazight, revived and composed in a modern way, I used minor2go's piano loop which you can hear on the background, everything elese is from me.
Bounces along in a very cool way...I love a nylon string guitar as well, finger
