This is some high class funky stuff right here! Pee-yoo! Incredible work! I like how, I believe what it is, the tuba in certain parts of the track. That caught my attention, and made me chuckle, due to being in the marching band, so hearing a brass instrument like that on a track, REALLY made it appealing to me highly. Beautiful work, my friend!
Thanks allot, Audiotone. I appreciate you checking it out and hitting us up with your kind words. Agree, T of P is killer! There drummer, David Garibaldi, is one of my favorites.
Man, that bass guitar is killer!!! I saw it was MIDI, but I had to change my ears' pants after 5 seconds! I wish I could play like that, but I cam at the bass from the wrong direction. As a guitar rather than foundation and percussion.
Enjoyed this a lot.
Thanks allot, Evan. Yeah, that is a cool bass line. It works well with my drums. I've worked with many good bass players and some guitar players make very good bass player, but you have to approach both instruments differently. When you do this, your bass playing will improve. If you play a bass like a guitar, you are just playing a very low guitar!
Definitely a vintage sounding funk track! Great style of mixing! I find that this song tells a story in a way, but I haven't heard the original. Good work!
Thanks for checking us out and hitting us up with your kind words. I still have a passion for the early funk stuff. You can easily find this track by T of P on youtube...Check it out.
good track!
I of course enjoyed the guitar and the drums, nice "solo" at 3:12 ... in my headphones the level of drums is a bit too low on the rest of the song... I need to listen again on a bigger system :-)
Really like the bass part: is it midi?
Ciao, Domenico
Thanks, Domenico. This was another that I had almost finished and thought of checking with Franco to see if he could add something to it, so he did the tasteful guitar parts. Yes, the bass is midi.
Love those short sax fills and those vocal fills as well. This has such an upbeat and happy feel to it and is a good way to jump start my day at the loop! Nice clean, jazzy feel to the guitar, some fun percussion and an excellent mix, you have it all working here Scott!
Tower of Power, haven't heard that name in years, nice cover!
Thanks allot, Wayne. I loved reading your thoughts. Yeah, you don't hear about T of P much, but I think they are still going strong. David Garibaldi is my favorite funk drummer and has been with them for years. Another of my favorites by them is, 'What is Hip.' Great drumming on that one, too.
Again, amazing track...my best is from 3.12 when the drum tells the story...one of the most intelligent music from your heart guys...:-)
Love it, favd it, best, Danke
Description : 'Love will find you at the right time'...This track is about how we vibrationally attract love. From my recollection, in the early 20s/teen years, a typical place to encounter this wonderful force was the Disco. (Kay)
'I always wanted to produce a funk and soul song, as I love the rhythms and vibe. I hope you like my first attempt at this. Many thanks to Darren Hirst for his great bassline' - Oli.

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : A Dark Funk tune , with a touch of Nawlin's jazz funeral procession. Midi-sparks asked me to do a Halloween song for his competition, and so here it is!
Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).
