Hey Alex, first thing I noticed was the great sounding(and played)keys. It is a timeless sound and never gets old. I am a huge fan of percussion so that caught my interest right away as well.
Is this the Jazz EZ kit? I may look into getting that one, sounds cool.
Nice dynamics here, well done on keeping things interesting throughout the entire track. I noticed the vocals, a nice touch and adds something positive to the track.
hi Wayne, I am really glad that you liked my playing. Yes, I made the drums using EZ plugin also with some percussions from ferryterry and other single percussive sounds. Basically this track combines fast 4/4 and slower 6/8 feel and that's why it is still listenable.
Great to hear from you again! Thanks for your nice words, Alex
I've brought my stone to the building of comments in other musical page .... I renew here my congratulations for this very personal and original concept. I heard the voice of Janis this time though, but with the help of good headphones .... ^ _ ^
Like the distorted Rhodes in a rotary cabinet sound at the intro. Very smooth sounding . Did you play the keys on this one? The time thing is weird on my browser as well? I liked it very much Alex smooth and velvety yet with that distortion it has an edge. nice work.
Steve
Thanks Steve. The Rhodes sound is from 'MrRay22' plugin (as always) with some effects (lots of compression and some distortion, a bit of the modulation effect as well). All the keyboards are performed by me on my tracks indeed. Not really good so far - I just started to develop some more stylistic playing recently. Still not there. It's because I do not have enough time for practising.
The other synth lead is from 'MinimogueVA' plugin - I like the sharp lines it does. It is probaby that sound you are referring to.
Really glad you liked my work - I was inspired by the bassline from some StaticNomad's song that popped up the other day and the entire composition was developed from that.
Brilliant piece, Alex! Your work is always wonderful, and it's an added pleasure when I can hear my friend and collaborator, Franco, included with your work. I'd not heard this particular work from him before. Great stuff from you and Franco.
Hi. There's some very weird technical problem going on for me with this track. It says it's 3:46 but when I play it and move to different points, it says it's about 20 minutes long. So, my time references are probably very wrong. This makes it much harder to give you an accurate comment. Anyway, I thought it was a cool piece of music, so here is my attempt at a review.
1:29 and now the groove is very similar to The Cinematic Orchestra's The Awakening Of A Woman, which is brilliant piece of music.
It's a ride-based drum groove I really like. Lots of space and very chilled out. Bass sounds a bit like a double bass.
2:15 and now the groove has got faster and the keyboards busier. Rhodes is the main thing here. Great and classic tone.
3:01 I prefer it when it drops back down into that cymbal groove.
This is some deep music a lot like Cinematic Orchestra, who I love.
I can't really hear any vocals in this. Where are they?
I know what you mean by this song being a 20min long track - in Windows Media Player it shows 21:52 - I will try to convert it again and fix that, thanks for pointing this.
I will re-upload the track soon.
Basically the bass groove was inspired by your 'Think big feel small' descending bass notes (here on slow 6/8 sections) - I guess it's a kind of a common jazz bass phrase anyway. I added ascending bass line on 4/4 faster sections - this metric combination is good and simply makes the track interesting and more 'fusion'.
There's just a little bit of the vocals here at 2:40: it says 'Time is the father of truth' or something like that. Wanted to add more vocals but I couldn't find something that will fit this song so only one short sentence.
The bass sound is from Kontakt virtual bass guitar layered with MrRay22 e piano bass. The Rhodes is from MrRay22 plugin as well - the monosynth solo is MinimougueVA plugin. Many effects added to the instruments (mostly EQ and reverbs, a lot of compression). I am not really happy with the soloing - I used only a standard midi controller keyboard and tried many times but because I do not really practise playing like this so I had to adjust some notes afterwards. The jazz drums are from EZ of course - some ethnic percussions from ferryterry and other percussive sounds to create more mouvement and some interesting colours.
I love this song from Cinematic Orchestra - after recording the bassline and e piano chords in 6/8 I realized it is quite similar to the beat from 'awakening of a woman'. Of course there's no real instruments on my track and I only tried to create an illusion of the live band performance. On the Cinematic Orchestra's song there's excellent and subtle instrumentation.
Many thanks for kind words and detailed comment. Nice to hear you liked my work. Alex

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.
Description : It is an elegy, in a modern world. There is fuss and there are sentiments. All together create a scenery where life takes place.
I really hope you like it.
Description : This track is built around the repetitive lead guitar line which I have previously incorporated as an intro for the rocker track "Sweetheart Runner" by LM user TinyFinger whom I have helped in arranging, mixing and producing his song. This extended session was a good oportunity to test some new equipment....Thanks to Tiny for not being mad about it...:)^^
Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.
After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
Description : I had to go in on this track. This is a future bass, electrofusion song. I posted the full version here full the Looperfam because you guys give me sooooo much support. I can never thank you all enough.
Description : A spoopy song, early for Halloween. This was a collaboration with Micky, who did most of the work.

Genre: We don't know yet. Suggestions welcome. LOL
Description : Messing around with my midi keyboard (I am no pianist as you will hear). Just a bunch ideas put together with guitar and keys. Don't miss the end :-) it shows the obvious lack of inspiration to find a decent ending of the so called musician! This track is work in progress all ideas are welcome!

Me myself could hear a few more guitar lines, in places but that's
my taste...
Sounds like you had fun doing this one, because it's so nicely done...
I REALLY LIKE IT>>>
