Such a perfect title to this gem of a track! From the few times you listened to my tracks and commented on them (as well as your own tracks), I can tell you have a natural talent for getting the full feel and atmosphere of a tune. Your titles match the atmosphere. And you are the king of comments when it comes to describing the essence of others' tracks. Thank you midisparks, for your uploads and accurately insightful comments! Enjoy!

holy cow! thank you skin. . .
when we dig in and finish a track for real we invest a piece of ourselves into it. when enthusiasm like yours comes back around, it is like getting a small piece of that piece back! peace! LOL!

Very cool man. Can't wait to get started on the complimentary art for the song. Sounds deep. Def on the industrial side of christmas. Gj

hey cozmic! maybe part of the strangeness is the harmony. I get used to my own nonsense and it starts sounding normal to me! i'm really happy you got into it a little. thanks very much for the visit and comment. later . . . Dan

Clearly has an industrial vibe to it. Very trippy then comes a very dissonant funk sound. your choice of chords structure is most interesting. I liked this one.

i am really glad you had a chance to check out the track, cru. it is about as deep as I have gone so far with the percs. the "industrial" genre designation was pretty much after the fact as i still have no clue about genres, let alone control over writing in them. thanks VERY much for the positive review.

really liked the mechanical feel of this song. Also liked the repetitive drum beat that played over and over. Really gave it a more "robotic" kind of feel.
Well done,

it's an interesting comment. maybe that's why I was thinking "industrial" for the genre. anyway - thanks for stopping by and glad you liked it!

hi Dan,
I really enjoyed listening to this again eventhough it is no longer the same track! I find it very funky even more now. Maybe it is too much 'computerized' but I love the unexpected direction it takes. The reverb and the ambiance reminds me of some mysterious temple again which is nice.
I enjoyed following your creative journey again! Thanks for some great inspiration.

Well I've already commented on this but who says we can't go twice? Love what you've done with the drums, panning and reverbs. Have you updated this? It sounds different or maybe it's just me. Reminds me a little of orbital. Love the minor key chord structures, it sounds pretty twisted.
Every time I listen to your stuff I think you've improved and this is no exception. There's loads going on, the melody is weird but it works and I really like it.

i'm very glad you came back FR. Yea - it's an update. still some spaces to fill in here and there. I do feel more control over the mixing these days and it means a lot that you notice improvement from track to track. I'm pretty happy with the perc mix. I just feel it is the wrong set. Thanks again.

This way to your car Mr. Zappa, lol.

This did remind me of something he would have done. Just throw in some bicycle played with a bow and some trashcan and you will be touted as a genius. ;)

Lyrics too? That should be interesting. Can't wait to see where you take this.

let it not be said that midispark`s place here on the Loop is where you listen to the mundane everyday musical stuff...def experimental is the truest sence...with a sprinkle of funk keys..and a bucket of creative imagination..& that is an unusual key prog sequence you have going on...would have to be an acquired taste I think as far as listening pref goes but has to be tops of the year for the "Something Really Different" award....way to go midisparks...keep on......Ed

DanGoldstein replied 23rd Dec 2014 - 10 years ago
appreciate it Ed. I never really learned my theory as I should have so I've had no choice but to make it up as I go along. I'm glad if I can challenge a bit the SQ, but really my comp has been nurtured on this site by folks like you and a host of others.

Did you lace Santa's cookies with illicit drugs again? LOL! Is this with that gore beat you sent? Alex's comment confused me, I know of Gore metal, the idea there is to be as disgusting and shocking as possible, Cannibal Corpse is a great example of that. Nice one Dan :D
DanGoldstein
DanGoldstein replied 23rd Dec 2014 - 10 years ago
I need to listen to Cannibal Corpse. yea - I believe I shared the scratch beat with you a while back. naw - I think at some point I was trying to write something for somebody else's beat and it had the word "gore" in it, but it has nothing to do with the track really. More along the lines of lacing Santa's egg nog. thanks man.

I'm a bit stoned right now so I found this really trippy and twisted. You've come up with some ace swooshing noises from scratch and created a background that I think would be good in a video game. It's an intense sound and I enjoyed it.

U..Crazy...Hahahaha...Cool stuff...Guess we all are to some degree...
I like the moves starting at the beginning and moving with an upward
progression sound wise...
By changing Frequencies and a few dynamics, but keeping the foundation relatively the same...Funny how that works...
Simple and clean, to my ear just a touch top heavy eq. wise, but it's
a really good start...Well Done...

Peace...TG.

sounds very promising. very funky in a way with some nice dance feel. interesting harmonies but this project can always turn into something different... very nice groove - I am not familiar with the 'gore' genre but again I see it more as a 'funky' beat.

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
