Now THAT is one hell of an intro. I loved it! So capturing. You had so much control of the track, and with funk that is absolutely important. I love the brass that was used. Is the brass VST, or actual playing? Because they sound very realisitc. If they are VST's, what are they called, my friend? This is one very funky piece of work, no doubt. You couldn't possibly receive my fav faster. So much creativity is involved, which inspires me for my current Funk/Jazz track I'm working on. I encourage you, and who all was involved to do more of this. Incredible live solos with the keys and the guitars. Much respect! Peace!
Glad you like my track and took time to comment. Actually, I hadn't noticed the bass sounding like the Seinfeld theme, but you are right! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I'm not too familiar with Daft Punk, though.
so refreshing to hear this feel! never heard that talk-box effect at the beginning. that is a new sound for me. very slick arrangement and mix. neat solos by different instruments and of course the skatting is classic. When the piano takes a turn at 2:08 it is a perfect moment. fun track!
The talk-box has been around awhile. Most people knew of the talk-box from Peter Frampton's album. I don't know if it's used much in today's music, since, other than jazz, I don't listen to too much new stuff.
This is simply brilliant!
Talkbox is a new colour on your desk...sometimes I had a big-band feeling...I showed to our drummer Lugo, who wanted to play in a big-band in his entire life but he failed this project :-)
He danced a bit with a sad smile on his face...:-)
And thank you for your kind words. Yes, I don't use the talk-box much, if at all. It was fun to give it a try, though.
I do love the big band sound. I played many years with different big bands in my career and loved every minute of it, so whenever I can fit a brass track in my songs, I do it.
Cheers,
Scott

Description : 'Love will find you at the right time'...This track is about how we vibrationally attract love. From my recollection, in the early 20s/teen years, a typical place to encounter this wonderful force was the Disco. (Kay)

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : A Dark Funk tune , with a touch of Nawlin's jazz funeral procession. Midi-sparks asked me to do a Halloween song for his competition, and so here it is!
Description : 3rd track of my future vocaloid album, Acerbus 2.Many thanks to Venuslove for the vocals, MrFunktastic for the Funk bass, Strings (left and right), and the robotic sound mainly at the beginning of the song. and Atlasblue for the Snares (sorry atlasblue that I couldn't include you in the title, only 50 characters allowed, thus I ran out of space)
Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).

Thanks to everyone who contributed in explaining what I did wrong in the engineering, mixing and mastering, especially Ben (bringerofDOOM). Looperman is truly an awesome community and thank you all. Did I say you guys are awesome?

I agree...Funk is quite tight. The brass is my Kontakt VST and is one of my favorites. Brass can be tough to get right without sounding too midi.
I do have plans to do much more of this style. My page has a few more similar to this if you want to check it out.

Scott
Glad you like it and took time to comment.
Yeah, that's the brass instrument in the Kontakt VST.
