Description : Popping my head back in here, again, .I swear i'll actually try to stick around again this time. Anyways, I've been working on mixing my guitar in with my electronic sound, and am looking for some feedback on this rough mix. TIA!
This is pretty cool progression in your musical style! I'm liking the sound of it! I must ask, regarding the guitar parts... Do you use a DI of any sort? Mostly curious. I like how you blended the guitar in the mix, and it compliments the synthetic parts well. I like the late section where the harmonies and solo get more complex, has a cool feel to it. Very fun to hear! Fave!
thanks spiv! Regarding my setup - my guitar runs into a FX box\pedal (a BOSS ME25) and that output goes into my Roland Duo-Capture EX. That Roland is a wicked little unit, and has served me well over the few years i've had it.
glad to hear someone trying to mix guitar and electronic instruments...I have tried it quite a few times...big fun....nice upbeat mix MYXD...good tune for a Summer evening listen...Ed
The guitar has certainly given the track some extra life often missing in electronic music, kudos.. I want more guitars in my heavy beats type of music but the results of my recordings just don't match up to the heavy sounds I use.. Too thin.. Working on it.. A better amp perhaps.
As for the track, I haven't much to say besides the drums, (the ending bars of the guitar were pretty fantastic) I would like to hear a lot more variation, for example at around 3:05 you could add a few kicks to that stuttering to give the track more groove. Take that with some salt from a guy who loves his drums :) Meta.
Well Done msn! Glad hear that you're using real instrumentation as well! Let me tell you, I had my head rocking back to fucking back through the entirety of this track. Great job, and I'm sure the quality will increase from here! Much love!
I love the fact that you mix a real guitar with those electronics, to some extend I am trying to make hiphop-ish tracks using real instruments too. So keep at it, and the more real instruments the better!
Description : I have been using LooperMan for practice for some time now. This my most recent track. The only loop in the song is BabyGee's vocals. Free to download and if you repost tag me so I can share it as well.
Description : A psychedelic techno cello epic. It's not really techno as it's only 110 BPM but something like that (eg breakbeat), with lots of banging beats and arpeggiated acid synths, plus a whole load of my layered cello playing techniques. There aren't that many synths used but they do a lot of work and are carefully automated. No guitar. Drums are mostly a lot of drum loops, supported by a few programmed acoustic drumkits. Very busy and complicated with loads of different sections (funky, chilled, fast, heavy) that make up a constantly progressing trip. I don't know if there's any other cello music like this so let me know if you think there is. Interesting feedback appreciated - criticism, praise, ideas etc. Enjoy...
Description : Summer type dance track, for those precious 2 weeks off, if you can get them! Made around a selection of different loops and some keys from me.
Description : Inspired by an experimental percussion piece I heard. Rhythmic ticking builds into pounding beats and heavy soundscapes. I haven't done any mixing or mastering yet so tell me what you think. Any and all comments are welcome.
Description : A song about a damaged soul. Sadly, based on a true story. Gorgeous loops here are by Hardstyle Rythm, Aboe, and Princess Hollywood. All basslines by that fiendish genius Rasputin. Take a bow, gentlemen
Description : Pretty basic dance track. Was experimenting with the Falcon synth plugin, hence the name. Instrumentation for the melody lines might be a bit unusual, more orchestral. Vocoder is from the Icarus synth plugin, a great new instrument.
Description : Hello everyone here's a song from my album anymore that really is near and dear to my heart I hope you guys and enjoy it and never let anyone bring you down or tell you that you are good enough!
