Description : A Dark Funk tune , with a touch of Nawlin's jazz funeral procession. Midi-sparks asked me to do a Halloween song for his competition, and so here it is!

If you have time take a listen and give crucethus some feedback.
Intro drums are something different for you. Nice, steady tom groove then a weird vocally exclamation and some occasional, good bits of brass.
Bassline enters and stuff is building nicely now, with the drums still sitting steady. Reverse cymbal is acceptable.
1:06 quite a cool little melody.
1:35 fat beat and those big drums introduced a little earlier make more sense now. Lots of percussion in this, something we both like to do.
Rather funky wah guitar works well, as does the return of that 1:06 melody that I'm having trouble describing.
Some second wah funk g a little later. All the different elements fit well together and shit is pretty funky. Really well produced as everything is rather clear and easy to hear.
4:09 ending is fairly weird but powerful and something different as well as being very unfunky. So that's a good contrast. I would say it cuts off too abruptly right at the end but I've said it so many times before about other tracks of yours that there's probably no point mentioning it.
I didn't really hear anything spooky or related to Halloween in this. I just heard good times grooves and cheerful funk.
The drums are used very nicely here and this track certainly has a lot going on. I think this track would work great for a 1980's based Halloween party. Definitely would see lots of people trying to get their groove on. I'd be the one attempt to and fail horribly. Ending up on social media thanks to my awful dancing lol.
Hey thanks for listening. lol on the dancing. Eighties theme party it is! I´m going as as a Miami Vice Character (Sniff). It was a fun track to make. And now itś spurred aa creative streak with 4 songs in one week so far.
thanks for stopping bye.
Cru
time for some crucethus! i would say it stayed in the jazzy realm and the halloween realm alltogether. nicely done. I have read the thread that said something about making a halloween type of arrangement and well you nailed that :D good stuff keep it comming
Thanks KB ,I think I did stay in the funky zone with a touch of darkness. Im a little flummoxed by all the accolades for this tune, but hey, the public is a better judge than I am sometimes on my music. Thanks for the props and hanging out in the Cru-Zone

My first sentence should be the same as Danke's but I don't want to be accused of plagiarism, yet the fact is that I'm still hardly catching up with all good things on Looperman.
And no doubt...you're one of the most established creators
of those good things. Your new brilliant work only confirms that! Thumbs up for you Steve...with a 'fav'!:)
Very kind from the master of pads and your own brilliant compositions that vary from genre to genre.
Fist bump with a double sided spinorama and a lo five!
Steve
Cool about the trumpets. I wanted some brass to give that Dixie funeral vibe. I also experimented with some reverb spaces with the muted trumpet around 2:50 to give depth and bring in the rhodes piano jazz chords. thanks for commenting.
Cru
Thanks Metabolic. This little -yeah I´ll do a halloween track for you (took over 3 and a half hours) is finding some legs. New software and a new computer is helping me with the process. Thanks for stopping bye.
Cru
Thanks PHD guy from Miami. So put some of your work on here. Ask Questions, we are all cool and will give u advice if your willing to learn. You can learn so much from the musicians on this site and understand what we do as loopers (arrangers). But you will find that you will have knowledge to give us as well, and that´s the cool part. The give & take. Welcome to our community.

For some reason, I imagine this being background music to a video where the camera pans all around a human-grinding factory.
I have no idea why, but the track is good enough to make me think about what this could be used for, and to actually envision something in my head is great! Well done Cru, great job!
Oh $hit!..I thought while I was typing the review 'hmmm is cru a sepo or is he a lumberjack' damn!!! sort of put my tongue in the shredder there, don't feel bad though 93% of the world's population can't tell the difference anyhow (lol) ;)
Hey Steve...groovin goblins man, choice arrangement and an excellent mix, I really dig those horn stabs, trombone me thinks and trumpet mutes for sure, the more this track progresses the more expansive it becomes with a top line end piece to boot, great work mate!..while we're on the subject of Halloween I'm going to make a complaint..now I know Americans didn't invent it but you definitely made it your own, so how the flippin heck did it migrate down to Oz? because of Murica's infatuation with it that's how (seeing as everything that happens stateside gets adopted here sooner or later) so this time every year I get a knock on my door by pesky kids with bedsheets over their heads and I say something like "don't you kids realise this is Australia and your being manipulated by the great satan America!...and they reply " Is this a trick?" (true) lol cheers Dave
Really, complaint, because every Halloween I just park a white van out front with a Pedo in it and tell the children, you can have all the candy you want! You just have to get it away from the Pedo in the white van before he gets you.
I no longer live in the sepo-murican society you are so dis-avowed too. I have been a Canadian citizen now for a few years. lived here with my wife for 7 years and thought the ehh? would have given that away. But you really can´t hear my NY accent any more as I have learned to hide it with my generic Canadian accent. Unlike the Aussie accent which sounds sometimes like it´s been F***ed by a east Londoner only to be raped by a Geordie on Parkinson's disease medicine. (A touch too much???) It (Halloween) came to the Great Southern Land, because it´s fun for one day a year to dress up as something different and weird. The more conservative the land the more fun you will have on Halloween (unless you are an evangelical, or Jehovah´s witness). Alas in this politically correct world we live in, that kind of fun WILL NOT BE TOLERATED! so sorry for exporting our fun.....
hey some things you will never hear about Australia (tongue in cheek)
Is that a Vintage Wallaroo trail wine, I only drink that with my fois gras, and Shawarma.
Would you like some more Vegemite Monsieur?
Live Free...or die from everything that will kill you in Australia!!
Yes officer, that sheep was coming on to me!!
What is the difference between an Australian wedding and an Australian funeral?
One less drunk at the funeral
I could go on.... but I am a Canadian now and I must adhere to politeness at all cost of seeming not polite to the international community.
if you feel your culture has been slighted at all I am obligated to say I am Sorry.
Justin Trudeau is also obligated to apologize to you..
That´s are way
Also Justin Beiber might Felate you...Also our way..(not sure why yet, but I am assimilating)
Long Live dark Humour and Men who can take it ;-)

If your the one moving them, then I would have to say...mmmmn yes! If they are moving because the groove is so powerful it transcends death, then I hereby charge you with Funkophillia. Your sentence is to resurrect the Zap band featuring Roger Troutman https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vpelwo80Ykk
or to listen to Extreme´s Get the funk out a 1000 times in a row. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqP76XWHQI0
your choice for your own personal hell.

I should have listened to this before I got farting around playing the one I just posted...but I went mellow before I even got the old Strat picked up...like the classic funk guitar stuff of course and with the cool drum kit & your synth elements it makes for a totally awesome parade...even us living could enjoy it enough to take a chance of joining in (I aint got much brain left anyway)....Fab stuff Steve my man...as always...great listening out this way......Ed
Thanks Ed, join the black parade of the half brained zombie like voodoo encrusted soldiers of funk as we give it to you dark like on this spookiest of spooky nights yet to come. (sic. queue the evil laughter, maniacally)and if you don´t have much brain left, then your safe from the brain eating zombies. As they won touch your brain, but they will devour your soul. (ooh that went all dark, didn´t it) Anyhow, glad u enjoyed this one.
Steve
I picture an undead disco taking place around a bonfire complete with disco balls, flashing lights and alot of zombies grooving out. 'All Hallows Funk 2016' :p Is that Donna Summers I see getting down? I love hearing the different genres with halloween themes. Now I want to see what pic this gets paired with! Very cool!
Voodoo Disco´s are where it´s at my friend.
Donna summer who passed in 2012 would be prime fodder for that ghoulish vibe you dreamed about you sick bastard. I think you´ve been hittin on the dead. You are formally charged with one count of necrophilia in the funkiest degree!
Crugusted!
Crucethus what a very cool intro super ambient n kinda funky almost took me back to miami vice i could see a nice big speedboat n Don Johnston looking so uber cool thanks :) best regards
I hear what you mean about the miami vice sounds. I actually modelled this one song as a blue print. https://youtu.be/ILaTgQBKRbE
Thanks for the props

Hey, Cru. I'm digging this. What an idea - funky and spooky at the same time. that has got to be a first. i like that last section - it is an unexpected bit of darkness and effective.
I will go over to Wobbin's thread now and comment a little over there as well.
I have your email also and will respond to that. Have a thought which piece might be the fit.
Hey Dan. Iḿ glad U like, I just linked to facebook, and my sister just shared with her friends, so lets see if that starts a push for some favś or sales.

Description : 'Love will find you at the right time'...This track is about how we vibrationally attract love. From my recollection, in the early 20s/teen years, a typical place to encounter this wonderful force was the Disco. (Kay)
'I always wanted to produce a funk and soul song, as I love the rhythms and vibe. I hope you like my first attempt at this. Many thanks to Darren Hirst for his great bassline' - Oli.

Description : This is kinda like a funky electro acoustic type thing. Definitely our funkiest piece yet, trying to explore a few different genres here, hopefully you enjoy it! :)

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).
Micky: concept / arrangement / guitars / synths / fx / vocals / mix / mastering
Jynxz: synths / bass / rhodes / clavinet
Description : Everything is recorded live, so you probably hear that. It's also all me :$
Thanks to everyone who contributed in explaining what I did wrong in the engineering, mixing and mastering, especially Ben (bringerofDOOM). Looperman is truly an awesome community and thank you all. Did I say you guys are awesome?

Description : For Funks Sake, as I recover from O I put together some jazz-Funk in the style that I know. 60 tracks, very intricate sounds. There were no limits that I imposed on myself for this one.

I'm liking the tremolo effect.. I fucking love tremolo.
The mix is very tasty, particularly the snare :D
I want to hear some vocals on this, with the right guy or gal this'd be even more fantastic.
I'm having trouble spotting anything problematic.
The composition of the ended was just superb, fantastic dude, well done :)
