I have read about Vocaloid in the past, but have never actually heard anything produced with it. I really like this track, Eighteen. I prefer tracks with an interesting melody and you created a really nice one in this track. I'd experiment with Vocaloid myself but I'm on a Mac and I believe it is PC only. Too bad. You track, which I greatly enjoyed, makes me want to incorporate it in my music.

Very nice work. Thanks for posting it.

I'm very happy to hear that you liked it :)

I did a quick research about mac and vocaloid, and it should be possible with vocaloid 3, I see for example this text: Vocaloid3 Hatsune Miku V3 by Crypton Future Media Windows, Mac OS X
hope it helps

Thanks for the nice comment! :D

"I'm Eighteen and I don't know what I want", Ooops, sorry bro. It's just that I'm reminded of the Alice Cooper song "Eighteen" when I see your name. Ever heard it? Yeah man, like the others I'm really digging this sound of yours and as mentioned I have never heard stuff like this before. In listening to this I was able to notice a little clipping which I think certain areas of the vocal section is pushing the ceiling too much. I love the track though and think you really have a unique thing going on. The vocaloid combined with the chip tune / Arcade video game sound effects really gets me thinking of Japanese Anime. Very cool stuff bro.

Haha tis allright, I dont listen to Cooper so I am not sure if I understand the pun fully xD but oh well

I'm happy to hear everyone keeps saying they never heard stuff like this before, its what I aim for and am very pleased to hear it so often.

yeah the voices clipped indeed, I lowered it a lot with EQing, I put a sine on the voice, and I guess it was a bit too high frequenty.

haha yeah I love anime sounds, so it might be that I have some ideas from what I have heard in the past.

Arcade game sounds I got those ideas from kanye.

Thanks for the nice comment man!

I love how quirky and infectious this song is. It's (as others have mentioned) very fresh. Never heard anything quite like it, which is a shame, I want more dammit!
Definitely a fave :)

Hey Eighteen.

I have never heard of ¨ Vocaloid Progressive Ambient¨ as a genre before, but I am glad I stopped bye this song. I really liked the energy and sound you have created. Sort of a mash of vocoded and formant sounds with a chip-tune sensibility. Music like this pushes the envelope and creative boundaries infinitesimally. Really good work.

Hiya, The things I create, well... I rarely have any idea what genre it is, So I use the words that come up first in my brain :)

Thanks for the nice comment and glad you enjoyed the song

hehe afterwards I went to go look at your profile and it turned out that you were from Holland, it goes to show that your music reflects your environment, culture, and where you're from. I was once in Amsterdam, 10 years ago, but it was only for a month. I like your track I'm gonna listen to it for a 4th time now.

Eighteen replied 27th Oct 2016 - 8 years ago
Ohh xD I assumed you checked it before you commented.
But honestly I don't get why you get that amsterdam vibe, well maybe because of the lifter/sweeper?
I dont often use one, but I wanted to try it again.

But as far as creating music goes for me, is the opposite of mainstream, since I dont like mainstream, I get my ideas usually from artists like daft punk and kanye west.

anyhoo awesome that you like it so much :)
Thanks!

Description : A demo of one of my current projects. The chorus vocal sounds like "Aaaaraashe" to me. The song is in C# minor with a nod to C# pythagorean on the chorus. The beat on the verse was inspired by the Peter Gabriel song Intruder.

Description : This is one of my earliest productions that I did at the start of my recording career. I did not have a keyboard at the time I made this song, so I improvised and used my sister's iPad and a 5 dollar GarageBand application instead, and plugged the headset jack into into my PT6 rig and did my best to turn each individual track (which were mono and there were about 25 tracks or so) into a stereo image. Then recorded vocals over it. My computer was so old and slow that I had to mix my music and then BOUNCE it to a new session - four times. My computer (which had 512 MB RAM and an 80 GB hard drive) couldn't handle more than 8 tracks at a time or it'd stop working because the processor couldn't handle it. Took me FOREVER to do. But I got it done. Had a lot of fun doing it too, even if it isn't my "best" work. I'm still happy with it, considering I didn't have many tools to choose from at the time.

Description : Long time lurker first time poster, pretty new to production n stuff, this is my first track in Ableton Live.
was going for a darkwave/synthwave sound, reminiscent of Justice, Carpenter Brut, Perturbator, ect.
Looking for some feed back, constructive criticisms or even just your thoughts if you liked it or not. This is just a rough cut on this current WIP, just the bones of it if you will.. If you have some cool title suggestions, would love to hear those too.
Thanks for listening.

Description : Far out mid-tempo fat beat deep chillout grooves with Eastern/Arabic and slightly menacing vibes, huge delayed synth bass and a great palette of psychedelic layered and intricate sounds (mostly synths) and a stirring, epic feel. Even has guitar solo section reminiscent of some 80s power rock which is then followed by a brief synth harp solo. I began making it straight after staying round the flat of the flute player from the legendary Ozric Tentacles - easily the greatest ever space rock band. I made this in about 2001 and still think it might be my best track (and it's nice and short, for a change). My production skills were much weaker in those days (no EQ, compression or mastering used here) but, somehow, this one turned out pretty much just right. Feel free to disagree. Now sit back and get ready to trip extremely far out. If you manage to return, let me know how that trip was...

Description : Got some spare time finally...just started on some random ideas basically (lets say kygo meets alan walker). A blend of dubstep, edm, downbeat, tropical etc.
It's still a work in progress, so i would appreciate your honest inputs. Thanks to all those whose loops I have used in here, sorry I don't have time to search them out.
Edit-added some more filthy sounds from my previous tracks and gave it some ending. Advice will be helpful.
