Just read BOD's synopsis, and totally concur. this is a great example of filtered deep house. But also as a cool background at a trendy 5star hotel bar. The bass is the star in this track. This is the kind of song that lifts your spirits and makes u feel better after you have listened to it. great job on this one, sad I missed it when it came out!
Bass sounded good to me on this track, AtticElla. You did great job of weaving all those intricate different parts together on the track. And, you definitely know how to place a vocal in the mix properly. Very clean mix. Another excellent piece of work.
Is the mix ducking a hair when the kick hits? I feel like there is a hint of compression there. If so you are miles ahead of the game, just FYI.
I saw in your profile that you don't play any instruments. As far as I am concerned, manipulating samples and using a MIDI piano rolls are instrumentation (and this is coming from a multi-instrumentalist).
If you are making these timbre, timing, and frequency choices naturally (without any formal music education), then you have competitive advantage (just FYI).
You may want to consider binge watching some traditional music theory content (I recommend Rick Beato), particularly to spice up your chord choices and arpeggio shapes (you will love using 9ths and 7ths). A little film scoring theory (for example) could expand your sound immensely as well.
Also, check out some "French House" if you haven't already, you could steal some of their unorthodox production tricks.
It's not like anything is missing, this is just some food for thought. Excellent work, keep it up.
Yes, I use a bit of ducking here and there when needed or when I think it will fit the rhythm overall.
I would give anything to be able to play the piano but alas, I'm lazy af. The piano roll and I are kinda best friends now. Might need to rethink that.
I have watched a few of Rick's videos, but I think I'll find some more. I never, ever snub good feedback. I would be a fool since it is so scarce as it is. Feedback is gold no matter if good or bad. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and toss in your ideas. They won't go to waste.
Bonita pista querido amigo AtticElla, muy agradable y con un sonido house de calidad. La voz entra muy bien y es muy apropiada para este estilo de música. Gran ritmo y enorme piano. Que pases una buena noche. Paz y salud
Very nice - starts as a kind of dreamy electro pop and some nice jazzy and percussive elements building up to a more classic house sound - the bass sticks out at first but it kind of leads the transition into the more dance / house sound and sounds damn fine in the mix to my ears
Nice work : )
Thank you so much for the listen pseudoble, and sorry I didn't reply earlier, I must have read it and got distracted or something. Always nice to get feedback from you.
Hey Tom! Thanks for the comment, very nice of you. I listened to your song on SoundCloud. Recognized you from the other post. You did a great job there, the production sounds really good. Did you master it yourself? The only thing is that the vocals are too fast in parts and that is difficult to do. Takes time but it's worth it! Like I said before don't give up. You got the sound down!
This is immense. Can’t tell you about the bass because I was playing it on tablet speakers but it sounded fine to me. You’re clearly very good at what you do. The last one Made me wanna check out your other tracks which is a good sign. I know what u mean about posting constantly I’m the same I post like every two days cause I’m always creating. Music is too fun
Description : Unofficial preview* of my upcoming first produced track named Therapy. Litterly a cut out of the track. Uploaded with first thought of letting it hear to a fellow Looperman member for a possible collab later on.
Comments are welcome tho!
About the preview, after the drop will start to another semi drop and with an harder more rawish main chorus part behind. Everything is as good as done now and being checked by demo listeners for response and feedback before getting a last hand at mixing&mastering.
Description : My first house song (on looperman). It's actually mix of progressive and dutch house. Hope you'll enjoy this! :) If you have time you can leave feedback, it's always appreciated!
Description : Ugly ass witch house beat that isn't technically a house beat. (The Drum Track is by LM's Danke.) The Track's based on an older beat of mine with the same name. This version's half as long & not as busy. The Synths are Synthmaster, Massive, Dark Keys & Creep Piano. And of course, It wouldn't be a Clickbait Cabaret beat without nine zillion FX plugins. Pretty sure all of them are on this beat.
Description : Funk House/Disco inspired by Daft Punk
No Samples used
Instruments:
Various vintage synths
Kontakt libraries: Ilya Efimov Telecaster for guitar, Session Horns Pro, Chris Hein Strings, NI Guitars
Vocals: Plogue Chipspeech & Alter Ego
Description : Melodic Progressive House with the lyrics by Mr.Shammi (visit his account here for incredible nice acapellas!). The ref is in Melbourne-Bounce-Style.
Description : check out janimifsson for these vocals
learning how to do house
good vocal effects
terrible drums
couldnt find a melodic loop to fit the track
figured out the key
the harmony basically matches the melody
probably in some dorian scale or something so
have to learn about that
the drums are my weakest point
good at the start but awful after the beat drop
please comment any songs to listen to to learn drums in this style
any advice please comment
Description : Update: So this was the looper tune that started it all for me on this site. Hard to believe it was Over 10 years ago. This tune carries the ethos I bring to music...interesting, always change the genre mid-flight and you won't see what's coming next. Also cool to see the early comments and who is still around as well. (#Feeling retro tonight) Orig: Trance-step tune that changes direction a few times
