Thanks for the listen and comment mate, about to go bush for ten days beyond civilisations reach so can't return the favour right now. Hopefully when I get back. All the best, Zoot.
Thanks for stopping by. No, not there now but travelled and worked on the West Bank and elsewhere back in the early 90's. My memories of Palestinians and Israel's alike are of a generous and hospitable people.
ooh la la la, Christopher! your support for a country who has been shoved past it's limits shows such strength and courage in the face of hecklers! I appraise this! I can't sleep sometimes because of my mania in which certain cases make me to believe I am King David before he became a king and remembering my history lesson as it was, Cavid who united both Palestine (then known as Philistine) and Israel after running away from King Saul who was set to kill him, staright into Philistine where he cured the injustice from the outside by acts of Robim Hood good deeds. Man... but then I realize I am just a confused American with the mind of a tortured soul that even angels fear to cry for. Ignorance is bliss certainly because stress does not accompany the powerless very well.. the elephant in the room that mice and men die beautifully exposing...
Yes AJ thanks man. I've always backed the underdogs and the powerless against injustice. I feel it strongly. Not that what Hamas did was excusable either, but what do you do when you have no future? You hit out of course. Gonna listen to your track now. I think it's going to be a sad one somehow. All the best my man.
it’s odd i don’t have an earlier comment here cuz i remember my elation at hearing Tutu articulate the rage i have with people who claim not to take sides in struggles taking place everywhere on earth on so many levels i wonder if anything is untouched sometimes. Tutu’s words make me feel grounded and deepen my humanism. your setting makes me feel embolded to remain plugged in, if for nothing else to bear my own witness and carry that into the struggle at my level. if that makes any sense. i’ll just point people in the direction of track for a more powerful elucidation! ace work, this is impactful music.
You make perfect sense my friend as always. I guess I was being slightly ingenuous with the description, since Tutu's words actually are a call to arms! I spent about 6 months working with Palestinians on the West Bank in the early 90's, on a date plantation and picking flowers among other things. And I think my kiwi sense of equality, egalitarianism and support of the underdog meant I had a lot of sympathy for the Palestinians. They are a warm and very hospitable people. But what future is there for them under the current regime? People talk of the two state solution but Israel has effectively sabotaged any hope of that with their illegal settlements in the West Bank. Anyway, I could go on. Cheers Zoot.
what a journey, i dance hula hula with my tuba. there is some serious warrior-desert-santa-island vibes on guitar. really nice 3d soundscape. this is really something to listen on headphones with a preamp. those detail and compression you play that game hard zootman, congrats on that. i will take my notebook and learn something. greetings from a banana
Hey there, sorry for the extremely late response. I've been in a cold place the last month with none of the trappings of civilization. Glad you enjoyed it, cheers.
Hey Chris, I'm getting to this one kinda late but well done sir! Genuinely, I think your tracks are some of the best produced on this site. That's no dishonour to anyone else of course. But every instrument voice is so pristine and well balanced, and there are so many transients moving through the stereo space that it kept my ears perked the whole time. Respect.
Hi Cam, really appreciate your comments thanks. I played the lead guitar with my fingernail, no pick. I was surprised how much it changed the tone. Gave it this sharp attack then a soft finish with some harmonics in places. Anyway, that's by the by. Cheers man, Chris.
Hey Chris,
to follow the guitar is like taken on a nice and smooth trip trough the desert. The sun is burning but it is great to make this travel to the speecher. He is the master and everybody love to hear him speaking! GREAT. Love it!
Greetings
Matthias
Hi Mathias, very good to hear from you again, hope all is well with you. I'm glad this took you on a journey, I like the story you tell. Happy holidays my friend.
From the first note this brought out my natural rhythm, ooooh such a sweet! jam right here. The percussions are AMAZING! throughout & with the spoken word well, that just tops it all off. NICEEE! Work here. This is a real piece of musical art. Bravo!
This is a cool listen and a real decent mix. There is a neat groove to the track, good track to let loop while on a walk. Gave it a few listens, great jam!
Cheers bro, glad you enjoyed. keys were addictive keys x 2 (rhodes obviously, one with a phaser), bass was free organ az3 straight preset, rest was guitars. not often i get called a smooth operator lol.
yes thanks. I have used it before on another track. it is a free vst organ az3 by Rumpelrausch. It's a pretty decent plug in for the cost of zilch I reckon.
thanks Mr Axel, I tried to up my game in the mixing/mastering on this one. I think it sounds a little bit better than most of my previous, but I'm a poor judge i think.
Thanks Maj, for some reason the guitar just sounded right to me, nice and full. not sure why lol. You're the afrobeat king though man, this was just a jam really. ps. I'm sure your soul is without blemish but if you want to confess then fine!
Hello, a nice basic beat. It's really very jazzy and sounds like an amprovised setup, as it should be for jazz rock. The words spoken fit in well. The mix and mastering are good. Great job
Zootman. This was a rich listen for me. You took me straight to Johannesburg. The sustain on your guitar is pure fire. The sax is quite potent. Great balance for all the instruments. A Well put together class track!.
I travelled a bit in South Africa in the late 90's, Joburg was a bad old town even back then. But fascinating place for someone like me who's interested in ecology but also music. Appreciate your listening and comments man, I really do.
sorry for the late reply, thanks for listening as always Michael. Will check out that Santana album. I was listening to his performance at Woodstock the other day, maybe it rubbed off somehow. Cheers Chris
I love the African guitar in the background.
The groove is very tight, but it still allows you your melodic freedom to experiment. Good job! Great guitar tones too!
Description : hi guys so thought I'd try a little afrobeat/swing, with a bit of rap spreading some dimestop love, dont be afraid, show yourself, believe in you. this was a free beat off YouTube pumped it up a bit added soundgoodizers and overdrive some transient processing and a frequency splitter. this is all about brand dimestop :)) nowt new there. lyrics are available
Description : I thought I'd try something a little different.
Had a lot of fun with this track. enjoy
THANK YOU EVERYONE THIS IS MY 1ST TRACK TO PASS 100 VIEWS YIPPEE!

I produce and write songs for those that need them, I write verses , hooks , choruses for those in need a small donation will be appreciated, this song is also for sale, get in touch for stems,my Instagram handle is on my looperman profile
Description : slow build of beats and I think kind of hypnotic IF you listen to the build! The lyric/ vox seems to be about sexualised violence which (if it is) is NOT cool but I like the sound of it despite the content
Wasnt happy with the mix and now remixed so hopefully sounding better now - mix might still need some tweaking, feedback appreciated.
