love that funky guitar at 1.04 in particular - everything is so well composed and the flow is well, flawless! I would expect to see something of this calibre on the likes of 'Tonight with Jools Holland'. Excellent. Kay0s of Vintage Nights (Kay)
Thanks again Kay! The compliments are received humbly. By now its obvious I kinda like doing these musical things! Im really glad you enjoyed this one as well. Peace.
Wooow! c'est tellement parfait! surtout ne change rien! (mais je suis quand même un peu jalouse car je suis loin de pouvoir faire des choses aussi complexes).

Wooow! it's so perfect! don't change a thing! (but I'm still a little jealous because I'm far from being able to do such complex things).
Mark, not sure what you improved further, but it's a masterpiece now. The fade-out came too early for me, I really wanted to enjoy that longer.
Fav'ed!
BaoBou! I appreciate the critique. What’s different? I worked on the mids to get more definition without sacrificing the upper and lower regions. Next I’ll snapshot this profile with Audio Lens so I can apply it to all of my super busy tracks with just minimal adjustments. This way I’ll save hours and greatly improve my overall sound across the board. The fave with your compliments are huge! Be safe buddy.
Mark, foreal? Foreal bra? James Brown fusion on the straight to the point beginning. INGenius. Wicked bass line all the way out. I can also tell, you have some choice vst's and know how to use them. This was a fantastic journey for me. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Bill. Your visit, compliments, and the shout-out on my comment for your track ^WHEN-WHEN" is no small matter. The comradery is in full effect and flow. We'll chop it up soon. Peace.
nickvledder greetings. Thanks for the stop, listen, comments and fave. It’s great you enjoyed what you heard. And nope I didn’t snag the sax queen for this one. Stay safe.
daydreamnightdream. Thanks for the listen and feedback. You well know that from conception to execution, theres nothing like a plan that comes together. And for a fellow musician to like what was heard is the reward here. Stay safe.
BaoBou! What's up? Man, I appreciate the stop thru. Thank you for the compliments and checking in on what I've been up to. As always, I try to give the funk the respect it well deserves. TTYL.
Yea Mark, most of these classics and artist's like *Miles*
I heard and know of were introduced by my parents know is from my parents. I use to rifle through my father's treasure chest of classics as a teen and found some real gems but also learned a lot about what REAL! music is, guess were lucky to have had parents to introduce us to such rich music. Once again, this track is all kinds of JAZZ Heaven! Choice!
Angelus, hey! Sorry about getting back late. My father had what would be the equivalent of a man cave. There he would have his ham radio setup and his stereo system and stacks and stacks of records. So by invitation only he would tell me “you got to hear this stuff” . It started to grow on me, listening to jazz, r&b , classical…… you name it. So right you are about that parental intro. And as always your visits and really enjoying the sounds is always motivating. My hope is you will be safe till the next round.
Good mastering habits are important to showering the listener with your creativity and fantastic musicianship. Its such an overlooked part of the musicans tool box. Thats what i appreciate about your works. Its not just the insane talent and musicanship, but a detail to the craft of production. This was a fun listen tonight.
Hey Cru! Thanks for the stop and feedback. Your comments are informative and encouraging. What you heard is exactly the point I attempted to convey. I’m glad this listen proved to be worthwhile. Take it light and be safe.
theres some rumors about prince is waking up and dancing to thise groove. your really changed your coulor of music theme in 2023 so far. i like those more gritty urban sound vibes. well balanced track and just perfection in eq and compressor. i love those bass line, i´m just running up my monitor room and thinking how i can kiddnaped you to get those bass lines. this is some really weel thought out stuff with a heavy technique. love what you doing for us basss community. i noticed that lil latin influenced in keys are really doing a great job. im dancing hula hula.
What's up with you, BananaLu? I'm very happy for your stop through. Why? The listen, feedback, fave, and your humor makes my day! But when you mentioned EQ and compression, that did it for me. I started using Universal Audio's mastering eq and compressor. That move on my mastering chain made a world of difference. I also used sonible's Smart Limit. That help to keep those LUFS at 11.2. On the bass line, I'm a drummer with bass envy! I've always gotta have a fire bass line!:). Till the next go round, be safe.
Manuela! Ok you pegged me:). I’m guilty as charged. I love the freedom. Creativity demands it. I’m free to think outside the box. But I can function well in structure too. At this point standing still in music is not an option as life must have expression that’s fresh new and evolving. Stagnation is a NO for me. I appreciate you bringing up this topic. Till next time:)!
Hello Mark and good morning (Germany). I haven't had enough of your previous song, the next masterpiece is here.*smile. No really. You must be having a great creative phase at the moment!
Now to the song itself. The intro with the horns is extremely interesting and pleasing to my ears. The transition at 0:51 is a real treat for the ears and the funky guitar sounds that follow are what I love. The solos that follow, be it guitar. saxophones. Trumpet. underlined with slightly changing. Basic rhythms coordinated with the solo instruments are what make jazz and funk so excellent!
Now give me some time before your next song rushes through my ears. *lol.
Greetings and have a nice Sunday
Manuela! Thanks for stopping by. This one in particular is near and dear to me. It's my first complete brass arrangement. Next was the issue with dynamics. The riffs alone cannot carry this home. So out of passion I composed this track, then it became a self-imposed project. I had to tame it, and I still have more polishing to do. I'm self-taught, so I learn as I go. The fact that you like what you heard, shared your thoughts........ Oh, yeah, I remember YOU CAN BE BRUTAL, :) LOL! I appreciate the fave too. Be safe and have a great week.
Alright! this is oozing! all kinds of vibrant! colours like a musical kaleidoscope. wow! spoilt for choice with the array of instruments all in their rightful place, Niceee!
Mark, this is such an ebullient well crafted jazz ensemble & without a doubt I'm once again revitalized hearing such a frolicsome piece with a lot of zest. When I listen in to music I not only listen with my ears that are very sharp & hear the notes between the main melody but also with my heart, I don't listen to music in this technical way most producers listen to music, I just know good music when I hear it and if it moves me, it's all good, your music always comes out on top! I was listening to "Miles Davis, SO WHAT the other day and your work has some of those same qualities...so, thank you for always bringing your A-Game for us all to listen to.
My university professor use to say perfection is just an illusion like swimming against the tide and can't be fully reached because it's never ending, that seems so exhausting but I know I myself can be a real perfectionist in things that matter to me but this track to my little ears is perfection! Bravo!
Angelus. Now you already know! Your stop, listen, comments and fave is always cherished. Thanks for the time you spend here. But the one thing I'm intrigued by is your evaluation process. Correct, I've observed that your ears are very sharp. Remember "Ear Candy"? You brought out a point that helped me greatly. Especially with those sharp dissonances. Technicality is one hat I leave at the DAW. When I proof my tracks, I upload to my iPhone, then shut everything down, go into another room and try to listen objectively. That works for me, so I can like you listen with my heart. Miles Davis's "So What", my father put me up on that track when I was around 5 years old. Still a classic! That comparison is over the top. I know this piece is very busy, but I had to do it. It's the very first one I completed a brass arrangement on. I've got more to share later. TTYL Angelus:)

Description : 'Love will find you at the right time'...This track is about how we vibrationally attract love. From my recollection, in the early 20s/teen years, a typical place to encounter this wonderful force was the Disco. (Kay)

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : A Dark Funk tune , with a touch of Nawlin's jazz funeral procession. Midi-sparks asked me to do a Halloween song for his competition, and so here it is!
Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).
Micky: concept / arrangement / guitars / synths / fx / vocals / mix / mastering
Jynxz: synths / bass / rhodes / clavinet
Description : Everything is recorded live, so you probably hear that. It's also all me :$
Thanks to everyone who contributed in explaining what I did wrong in the engineering, mixing and mastering, especially Ben (bringerofDOOM). Looperman is truly an awesome community and thank you all. Did I say you guys are awesome?
